Perhaps I can talk with the leader of these scientist? (via chat) It'll be secure, and will provide a way for us to know what we would be getting ourselves into.

Perhaps - but not today. Maybe not tomorrow either. Probably Thursday or Friday.

- Lighthearter

Friday? I'm fine all afternoon on Friday...

I do like Ravus' plan. We must continue to find new ways to motivate our employees. There are certainly several remote locations in eastern Iberian/Southern "France" that could house a hidden research center.

I would say that the reward is probably worth the risk. Then again, Lighthearter hasn't given us a solid "cost" of supporting this research. Hmm. Still, it sounds to me that we have some chance of gaining a "free" technology. That's almost always worth it.

I am greatly in favour of the Area 51 plan. Setting up our own version of this Valhalla Facility our enemies have developed. Gives us somewhere to stick any enemy scientists we do capture in the future.

The question is: Where do we set it up? Previously, I think we would have all said on the Home Island. The problem is that now, with the recent Russo-Nordic acquisitions, the Home Island is now one of the points of our empire that is the most at risk.

I would suggest therefore, that our safest position is in fact Iberia, and that we should create the facility in the most secretive and easily defensible part of Iberia we can find - probably somewhere in the mountains.

There are two passes through the Pyrenees which should be nigh-impassable with proper fortification. Perhaps the facility could be set up there. We must keep the facility guarded well, not only to discourage outside attack, but sabotage from within. We will, after all, have foreign scientists, who may wish to undermine our efforts.

Perhaps right in the middle? That's pretty secure and remote. With the right security, it might be able to work wonders.

Tech
Spoiler :
Tech Path: Replaceable Parts-Rifling-Chemistry-Steel-Astronomy

Put research at 100% until unable to run, then at 0% for one turn, then 100, and so on and so forth

Foreign
Spoiler :
Egypt: Convert and befriend no matter what.

Carthage: Convert in preparation for future military takeoever.

Vikings: Do not give in to demands. Do not deliberatly antagonize them either.

Russia: Same as vikings.

New world: Make sure relations dont go below cautious. Maybe temporarily befriend America.

Zulu: Leave them alone.

Arabia: Try to avoid war since we have a common enemy in the nordics. If they can be befriended, great.

Germany: Our only true friend, make sure we keep them happy. Tech trade with them.

KRF: Continue to supply weapons, but make sure they cant be traced to us. In other words, more foriegn weapons. If they score a large victory, then maybe even send some funds from the treasury to help their cause.

Valhalla Facility: Send the night eagles, capture the scientists, and maybe experiment with this new 'gunpowder' thingy forming in the labs. If not, just let Athers go pyromaniac again. Make sure to scan for any completed research, and info on the scientists. Also try to nab any scientists we can get.

Domestic

Spoiler :

Home Island
Spoiler :
London
Harbor may be unnecessary, depending on city's Happy Cap and whether it will starve or not when it grows. Note that if things are left as they are, Rome will be considered our Capital city, so you may want to remind LH to repair that mistake. In any case, rather than a Harbor, build a Grocer--It will provide some health as well as extra cash. We also need a University (science + Oxford), as well as a Theatre (to unlock Globe Theatre).

Liverpool
Grocer build is good. City should also have Bank, Market, University, etc. When we get Astronomy, an Observatory should be built. Overall, Liverpool provides commerce, and infrastructure that maximizes this should be built.

Plymouth
May as well finish the Harbor, bu the most valuable buildings are: Market, Bank, Grocer, Library, Observatory. It needs to utilize its food bonuses to hire as many specialists as possible.

Iberia

Spoiler :
Birmingham

Should continue to do what it does best. Build troops. LH should double check to make sure that the tile configuration is set for maximum production.

Arya-Kent
Switch to infrastructure builds. Its Gold and Silver resources give it good commerce. Bank, University, Library, Grocer, etc. will all make the most of that.

Cull-Norwich
Finish University and then build defensive troops (Musketmen/Longbomen). These troops are to be stationed on the Home Island and in Iberia so that we have something more modern than Archers defending our cities. Construction of transport boats may be necessary if we are lacking for any. When the war comes, we need to be ready for a counter-attack.

Western Europa

Spoiler :
Ravus-York
Whip the Market. Build a Forge if the city lacks one. Mainly because it means another +2 happy (gold and silver), partly because it gives a production bonus to whip overflow. After that, a University. LH needs to keep an eye on the city to make sure it doesn't grow into unhappiness again. Hire specialists if it is growing too large.

Antium
Build troops, but not Crossbowmen. They are kind of useless now. For the time being, continue to churn out Catapults, or Trebuchets if we get Engineering. Once Rifling comes in, we want to build Redcoats.

Amsterdam
LH needs to make sure this doesn't grow into unhappiness as well. Hire specialists/juggle tiles used as necessary. Needs a Theatre because we want to build the Globe Theatre here, but also all Commercial (Bank, Market, Grocer) and Science (Library, University, Observatory) buildings.

Central Europa

Spoiler :
Neapolis
University is a good build. Grocer to help with money/unhealth, and a Forge. Basic infrastructure buildings. Doesn't have enough production to be a troop pump.

Cumae
Like Neapolis, we should focus on commercial/science buildings here.

Italy

Spoiler :
Setia
We may want to consider to use the city as a Missionary pump. We want to make sure that all domestic cities are Christian (Neapolis and Cumae lack the religion), Frederick needs to be converted, and we also want to try to convert Egypt, as well. Setia doesn't really have enough going on for it that it would be good for much else.

Rome
Since it's also large, make sure it doesn't become unhappy. Market should help. Grocer, Bank, Library, University, Theatre... those kinds of buildings, and maybe the occasional Musketman/Rifleman for defense.

Worker actions:
Most cities are fully improved, but, of course, LH should make sure to finish improving any city that needs it, and to make sure that our road network is fully adequate.

Military
Spoiler :
Land a large expeditionary force on the Western shore of Norway. Where doesn't matter, just emphasize a hill or resource. Once there, troops can be shuttled over effectively in the future.

Create another spy, send over to Nidaros to keep an eye on the Viking deathstack. Be sure to stay out of city to reduce chances of detection by Nordic counterintelligence

Troops shouldn't need too much. Once Rifling is on hand all the old troops will have to be upgraded. For the first half, trade engineering of the German vassals and build a few trebuchets and macemen with City Raider promotions for future upgrade. For the Second build some Riflemen as they will now all be built with Defensive bonuses and can be upgraded from the two Military cities with City Garrison III.

Navy shouldn't be much of an issue, as we will try to win by land. However, be sure to build 6 triremes to defend our island as well as to run havoc around Scandinavia.

Troop Positioning

Britain
Spoiler :
A few land defense units (lbows and later rifles)
Naval Offensive units to assult a possible landing fleet (triremes and later frigates)

Scandinavia
Spoiler :
Will need large ammounts of city raiders and siege. Primary target is Nidaros, then sweep north into Uppsala. Two goals are to: A. Wipe out Viking Death Stack, and; B.Take the cities

Poland
Spoiler :
Emphasis on Battle control. Holding off the enemy when they try to attack, striking quickly where they look weak. For this task it will be a good idea to have horse units spread out along the border with siege to back them up.

Germany
Spoiler :
The German Legion is there for apparent moral support but they can keep track of any movements in German troops. If they mass for an assault we can time our own actions in juncture. We probably want to try and trade gunpowder to the germans so that they can defend themselves properly. As the Germans will bring their own siege the German legion only needs one catapult (to hurt a attacking army enough to destroy) the main bombardment would be done by germany. Instead the troops selection should be Redcoats and horsemen.

Here it is. Now discuss, guys. I'd still like to talk to those scientists before making a decision, is Friday afternoon fine?

Something that was just mentioned was that there should be an invasion plan for invading Ireland... Should we make one, and if so, how?

I love the plan. Just like how I would have done it, except my plan would have taken a couple years longer to put together. :p

That's good. What do you think about the Ireland proposal?

Ireland is Russian. Russia has land and money.
The Enemy is Vikingland. Ragnar has technology and military.

It's obvious who the bigger threat is. Especially as Russia is also dealing with the pesky Arabs. Ireland can be taken back after making sure that Viking Doom Stack is butchered.

I agree with this taking back Ireland to have a safe buffer zone around London. But i'm glad it won't be this admin that has to deal with that as you would also then have to make a decision on whether to keep Ireland or hand it back to the Khan. People seem like they would be polarized on that issue.

The Military section should cover that this turnset is all about positioning and upgrading to those lovely Redcoats for battlefield superiority.

EDIT: (I assume that people realize that "expeditionary force" means to settle a city?)

Well thanks for clearing that up Ravus. I just complained about the expiditionary force to aysee in a PM. But if it means settling a city, then i now approve of it. Aysee, please be aware of the reasons i stated in my PM even though i now approve of it.

And Ravus im not too sure about that. You say russia has land and money. Plenty of people probably inhabit those lands. That money probably came from all those taxes from all those people. So i wouldnt put it past them to (with LHs help), in times of war, start a HUGE draft. They ahve the money to pay the people and buy the weapons/armor/supplies. They have the people to draft.

I just want to point out that just because Ragnar is onviuously now the leader, it doesnt mean that russia is a non-factor. They are still the founders of buddhism, and im sure They have a VERY GREAT influence on Ragnar. It just means Ragnar is MORE powerful, not that Peter is powerful at all.

MathNerd is now opposition leader.

I hereby take over as OL. As the co-leader of Aegis, I hope to see nobody in my coalition object (which is everyone not in the government)

...I sense a lack of communication here. Maybe you should start the PMing to clear it up...Oh and you are wrong. There are people in your coalition who are in the administration (including yourself, which disqualifies you from being the OL, as well as independents. It is not a black and white liune bewteen coalitions and admin and such.

...I sense a lack of communication here.
I wasn't expecting to have Cull drop out as OL. And I kinda want to be ol.
including yourself, which disqualifies you from being the OL
I am abandoning my position in the administration. I know its not black and white, but as the second place in the presidential race, I think I should be OL.

Arya... wait... i want to see how this works... seeing as ilduce wrote some of the plan and it's now finished. Can he even technically raise the opposition level at all? If he speaks out against his own work... come on this is some kind of paradox waiting to happen!

And yeah the bit about the city wasn't clear but Aysee was trying to trim down the lump monologue i threw at him when i was in a rush so *shrug*

And yeah the Russians are a threat. A biggee in the future but i was only talking about the immediate present. The main point i was making was that we shouldn't attack both at once and as viking is the more present danger they should be dealt with before any major actions taken against Russia

But you are missing the fact that they are allies (IC, anyway, in game i guess they technically arent allied, but you know if we go to war with one that LH will bring the second one in, unless we manage to maneuver politically through LH events). If we go to war with one, we cant just count out the other. Plus, even if we somehow do manage to go to war with one of them solo (it will be the vikings as you said) LH would just use more events to bring the other one in. For example, russia hates us, i mean REALLY HATES US. If we go to war with the vikings, then he will surely pounce on us with a WBed invasion fleet once we commit to the vikings.

Sorry. Its just too much fun pointing out how Ilduce doesnt know what hes doing, let alone whats going on while the first part is happening.

Alright Ilduce, be OL. You now forfeit any influence on administration decisions (This is the position of arya126, and therefore the Joker party, and cannot be confused with official patriots coalition opinions, or with Official Aysee admin positions) unless otherwise decided upon by President Aysee, and i would recomend he is not given a second chance in the admin.

I'm a little confused about the OL thing. Who is it now? And to be honest, I think I know why Cull dropped out as OL. (RL reasons)

Cool, I'll be OL then.

Oh i agree. The Russians will come against us eventually. It's why the main aim of a future war would be only destroying the doom stack and taking the two best cities. Not Total Annihilation. But Russia just had a war with Arabia and won't attack without a army. So the holding action in the east should be okay to deal with them if they do deal themselves into the game, and our ships should be able to sink any transports whether from Scandinavia or Ireland.
