What do you guys think should be done with our great people? I personally think we should rush the Globe Theater with him, or maybe West Point.

Why? There's no hurry to build national wonders. Using him for a world wonder would be better (IIRC, we're still at that stage in the game where engineers still make a difference in building wonders).

West Point would be good for the extra XP, but idk... What world wonders can we build ATM?

It's VERY useful that AD/BC in our game happens to correspond exactly with AD/BC in RL. Nice work, LH.

Also, why the heck is everybody blaming me? For god's sake, my point is to make the game more interesting. I don't plan to do that by destroying England.

Fargle has an interesting idea there. Were we to gain posession of the princess, we could force her to make some concessions to us (territorially speaking) before putting her on the Russian throne.

Yeah, Ravus was throwing that idea around in the chatroom. The biggest issues with that plan, however, are:
-How will we dispose of Peter?
-Will Catherine be willing to cooperate with us?
-How willing are we to face off against the Arabs?
-What do we then do with the Ukrainians?

Also, we should consider how this will affect the rest of the Buddhists nations.

Valid points. They do pose obstacles, but the idea still has some merit to it. Should we bypass the problems you stated, there would be an enormous benefit: a Russia weakened and indebted to us.

If we do that, we lose the Ukranians for good. IIRC, they're fanatics who won't make any compromise.

Pretty much it boils down to :
Save Catherine, lose the Ukranians; get Russia in a position to make concessions to us.

Kill Catherine, gain te Ukranians; lose Russia, and possibly tick off the Buddhists enough for them to declare war. (Of course, we have redcoats, cavalry and soon cannons, but...)

Assassination - with all the special forces we have at our disposal, it shouldn't be too hard.

Since the idea is that we install her as a puppet, getting her to cooperate is the whole point - we'll offer her rewards, threaten her, whatever we need to do.

-How willing are we to face off against the Arabs?

At this point, I'd say we aren't prepared for a war with the Arabs. However, there's a chance they don't need to get involved.

We wouldn't be losing any status with the Buddhists. None of them know that we have been involved yet. The Russians are probably just getting word that the Ukrainians have kidnapped Catherine.

Which reminds me: we need to be very careful. The Russians will be incensed - to put it mildly - that their crown princess has been kidnapped. I wouldn't put it past Peter to crack down quite violently on the Ukrainians and potentially make things for us in the future rather... difficult.

Maybe we tell the Russians that we have been 'keeping an eye' on the Ukrainians for a while now, and that we have a good idea where Catherine is.

Then we try and negotiate a settlement with Russia for our co-operation in helping rescue their princess?
