Thge opposition is weak? Im sorry, but you must have missed last term. I was a one man opposition and i raised the OSR to noticeable. With one person in the opposition. Now i have two whole parties. Lets put it this way: If i am in the opposition, then i have the potential to wreak as much havoc, and make the opposition as strong as i could possibly want.

Speaking of that, i need to work on a speech...

It is weak. The elections were a landslide for Unity and if push comes to shove, the OSR will be split again.

So ATM, choice 2 is winning with three votes (me, Cull, Whosit), 4 is in second with 2 votes Jokers), and 3 is in third with one vote (Aysee). I'm pretty confident that most of Unity will go with choice 2 as well, so it looks like Choice 2 it is.

Sorry Jokers and Aysee (), it appears that choice 2 has the most support.

I vote option 2 as well.

I incorporated your suggestions, counted the votes for and against everything, and PMed it to the Administration for final review. I had wanted to post the changed plan again, but then realized that I could keep doing this for weeks.

Why Germany? The base of power is in Italy...

And I'm taking back control of my party if nobody minds. And just to throw this out there, this was the largest landslide I've ever seen.

Yeah, this was a landslide election. However, I don't exactly consider that to be a necessarily bad thing...

We mostly support Germany because Germany contains two of Rome's very powerful cities, Neopolis and Cumae. On the other hand, Italy contains only Setia, which is a minor city, and Rome, which is actually smaller than Neo and is too far away to effectively govern without very high maintainance costs.

Yeah, I would like to have Rome, but AIs defend their capitals pretty well, and our huge number of cities is already killing our economy. I don't know if Rome will be able to pay back its larger upkeep cost, and Setia will need to be taken before Rome as well, which would probably lead to the war taking forever. Our economy really needs to recover, and quickly. I don't think we have the resources to continue this war for much longer.

Um...LMP is still part of the opposition. We dont have to be in the same coalition to be in the opposition together. As far as i know, parties that arent in the administration (or are openly independant like the one someone suggested to celticfury), are automatically part of the opposition.

Guys if we go for germany, then we will be screwed in the long run. Sure, we will gain some cities that can be geared for commerce, but what will happen to italy? Either it will be used by Rome in a future war, one that they will win, or russia will take it, either by making them a vassal, or by taking it for themselves. Thats bad.

I dont think so. It is the financial heart. I would guess at the balkans and the ukraine as the production heart. Why raze italy at all? Everyone was all pissed off at me when i mentioned razing rome before this. We should take it, not raze it.

A couple of turnsets later, Rome will either be stronger than us, or a vassal of russia. Anyway, Germany is more heavily defended than italy. Also, why dont we just take both italy and germany in this war instead of having to attack again?

I just PMed mine, as it is still a piece of writing, so i would assume so. And it has to be politically acceptable.

This still makes no sense, Why dont we just TAKE italy, and use it ourselvelves?

My plan was to take north italy (settia), then quickly seize medialanum which is east of the alps, then we swing north to take germany. Then we can choose if its worth it to make peace, or to take rome then push on east.
