Does it matter where our capital is other than maintenance costs?

No capital movement. No. The little bit of less maintenence (we dont even know that we are getting the colonial modifier, as the game MIGHT consider the isles part of the continent) WOULD NOT compensate for London not being the capital anymore. London isnt just the heart of england, its our most developed city. So NO MOVING THE CAPITAL.
MN would it be possible for you to create another settler, and place it near the eastern pyrenees? I had been planning to settle a city near that place, one tile northeast of the chinook city ruins, but the romans attacked and ruined that plan. Any chance you could build a setller in a city with nothing to do? As whosit would say, it would be a shame to see the clam go to waste.

I see what you mean, Arya, but I honestly don't think we can afford the maintenance costs ATM. Yeah, it would be a waste to let the clam go, but I think we need to wait until we are up to tech. After that, however, a settler there would be a crucial move.

I think we need to wait for pictures, if they are coming, to see if we are actually being charged colonial maintenance fees or not, and how high our maintenance is in general.
One other reason to move a capital, which I don't think has been mentioned, is to move to a stronger Bureaucracy site. London seems like a good Burea capital, though, but again, we have to see what our maintenance is looking like.

Yeah, and Whosit is right. I had forgotten that with Bur, the location of your capital also determines which city gets the +50%.

Guys, you know LH has alot on his p[late right now? Bothering him for screens probably doesnt help. Maybe just send him a friendly PM to remind him if he doesnt deliver them after a while. Either way, screens are not mandatory. I know whosit will be upset that he wont be able to do all his fancy math stuff, but i rarely do that even when i have screens in my games, and i turn out fine. We can do perfectly fine without screens, and i think we have enough of a grasp on the situation to do without them until the fiurst turnset is over and we get an update.

Its probably not much, especially as our cities arent that far from London. Plus, London is the BEST CITY WE HAVE. RY doesnt have the production to be a good capital. Actually most of the time, I only take the "best city" thing into account only when using beauracracy. I think they do take landmasses as meaning continents. Our economy needs all the help at the moment, so we really should move it if RY has enough hammers to build a palace.

I have to go and clean up cat puke right now, then do the dishes and some push-ups(for fun
) before Nuke and our parents get home from babysitting my little under-1-year-old nieces, but I should be on and off the rest of the day. However, tomorrow and Thursday are normal for those two days - I'll be unavailable from about 7AM to about 3-4PM both days. What fun.

Oh yeah, I still owe you a narrative scene - hmmm. Friday. Maybe. Friday's Ballroom Dance lessons. And Saturday is Grandmaster YK Kim's seminar. Huh. Sunday?

We dont know how. To me, he shouldnt be able to be president while hes kidnapped, especially as he was the one who caused his kidnapping. But LH never said he couldnt so...it would be his own fault if he wasnt allowed though.
