More-or-less what we're going for here. It's not technically "pure" democractic socialism, but it's pretty close.

Well, I'd been hoping that the experienced players would take up the reins, but what the heck. Provided there is someone out there who will second me, I'd like to announce the creation of the Centrist Isolationist Party.

We are committed to reaching across political divisions in order to build a broad support base. At present, our goals include:

Absolute state control of the means of production
Anti-war policy, enforced by a strong military
Expansion over a wide swath of this new world
Encouraging financial growth for the purpose of dominating the other settlement endeavours
A better name

I'm still interested, but like everyone else have been fairly busy with tests and that sort of thing. Also, let me add my voice to everyone else who's congratulating you on the newspapers; I think they're a really cool feature.

Glad everyone likes the new format It is actually just a template on google docs that I modified a bit. To making the spacing like a newspaper though I had to go back through and add all the varying spaces between the words.

As long as there is interest we can wait as long as everyone needs to continue. I couldn't tell if the newspaper format had turned people off, or if people were still interested but too busy to post.

Greetings fellow countrymen, and salutations to all immortals listening to me in this public declaration. I come to inform you of the creation of a new political organization dedicated to the channeling of the nation's necessities into action in the government. This new party is called the National Institutional Party (NIP) and these are our beliefs and goals:

• We strongly believe that our emerging nation is destined to greatness and superiority. We will become a world power. But the only way to do so is to remain united and strong under a clear cultural identity that not only makes us unique but diffuses itself throughout the world. We are an organization to guide our emerging people and civilizations, and through our wisdom we wall achieve our destiny. We are also a party worried on domestic matters. We want to improve the lives of our people, and make sure that they not only live well, but enjoy the life they have and be able to create and innovate for the improvement of the entire society.

To accomplish this and make our ideals a reality, we propose the following:

• Creation of a strong economy based on strong and efficient productivity. Indeed without the infrastructure to produce things quickly and efficiently we will never progress in this changing world. Infrastructure will provide the opportunity to make true wonders of this city. This will also allow us to not only build, but train our armies in the case of war. Finally, the production capacity will give our people better standards of living, and a safer and more productive workplace.
• Reinforcement and promotion of our art and traditions. For without them, we are nothing.
• Settlement of nearby lands, to assure we have the space and security needed to keep our society productive, safe, and ever expanding
• Buildup of our armies to make sure we can withstand any threats to our sovereignty or destiny.

I am not alone in these beliefs. The father of our nation, our esteemed Cyrus Rotheram is with us, and I am sure he will personally express this once he has the chance.

We stand here, with our arms open to those who share with us the belief that our nation will progress into greatness and strength. Join us, and help us achieve our destiny.

OCC: @talonschild, would you perhaps be interested in the CIP and EDSP reconciling what slight differences we have and merging into a single party? It's still a bit early and political parties are still forming but I feel we could accomplish much more working together rather than against each other.
