Thieves and Raiders Attack Throughout Nation. Estacado, Nueva Leon. It seems, with the take-over of the nation of Nueva Leon by General Manuel Archuleta, that rising resentment against him has exploded into many revolutionary groups overnight. It seems no where is isolated from this new rebellious spirit which has swept the nation, from Victoria to El Cerrito the seeds of dissent have been planted.
It also seems there are many factions who are just trying to take advantage of the chaos ensuing the nation. In the north, at the city of Bonita, a corvette flying the Leonian flag came to dock very early in the morning on February 4th. A PT boat patrolling the area, and also on its way to dock for the night happened to come across the corvette came in to investigate. The corvette stopped to let them come close, and when they were close enough to board each other, the passengers on board the corvette stormed the unaware PT boat crew, catching them completely off guard and capturing their boat.
Upon capturing the boat, the men proceeded towards the city of Bonita and launched a quick raid against the city, while most of the garrison soldiers were asleep. The attacking forces seemed to know just what they wanted to do and raided the closest bank to the docks, stealing 1000 credits and slipping away to their boats when the government forces finally started to organize and counterattack. As they were escaping back to their boats a brief firefight ensued where five government soldiers were killed, but all of the raiders were able to escape.

Likewise, further west to the city of Estacado, a daring bank heist, involving the use of trucks, tanks, and foreign mercenaries took place on February 6th. A group of soldiers led by the ex-General Harkin, many witnesses claim, attacked the United Bank of Estacado in broad daylight. With the recent government crackdown on dissidents throughout all major cities in the country, this was a lot harder then it seems the general had suspected.
The bank was guarded by government troops, with the orders not to let the gold inside fall into anyone elses hand. Along with the troops, were two APCs set out front of the bank, also keeping guard. General Harkin did have the element of surprise on his side, able to drive his trucks up to the bank and unload his troops before the Leonian soldiers knew what was happening, but once shots were fired, the government troops guarding the bank went to action, twenty soldiers and two APCs holding down the 70 soldiers Harkin had attacking, which none had been given RPGs to handle any armor they happened to come across and so they suffered many casualties.
At the same time, the trucks had fled, and the mercenaries had entered the back door to the bank, finding the inside unguarded as all of the guards had gone to fight the attackers out front. While holding the bankers up, one person inside tried to be a hero and fight back against the robbers, which ended up with a massacre of all twelve civilians inside the bank, but the mercs had blown the vault and escaped with their gold, loading up on the trucks now waiting behind the bank to take them back to their camp. The two APCs guarding the bank tried to chase the trucks back, and succeeded in destroying one, killing all the men on board, but they were ultimately destroyed by two tanks Harkin had to guard their escape. Once the APCs left, Harkins remaining soldiers out front the bank stormed the guards and killed them, then escaped back into the jungle.
The slaughter of innocent civilians as well as the unexpected attack on their town has turned many citizens of Estacado to believe that General Harkin is a menace and not worthy of their support. The people have also began to distrust the man Amon Savag who has promised that if the people follow him, no harm will come to their city, when to many now it seems that obviously isnt the case.

Terrorists Pester Isabellan Merchants. Isabella, Nueva Leon. Mild skirmishes have also taken place around the city of Isabella this past month, as five pickup trucks with machine guns mounted on the back were fired upon by government troops throughout the city. These trucks bore no insignia, though five others bearing the colors and markings of El Movimiento de Libertad de Isla had fired upon some local shops but were able to escape pursuing government forces. The Leonian soldiers stationed throughout the city are now on high alert for these terrorists, though no one has been hurt right now. Some sources claim the unmarked pickups were driving around offering protection to shop and business owners in the city, and with the recent attacks on their shops by El Movimiento and the poor reaction by the military, it seems some of these owners have taken up on the offer.

Former Priest Wanted by Government. Valdez, Nueva Leon. The government of Nueva Leon announced today that they are placing a bounty on the head of a former Father Diego Hernando Diaz de Leon. He is wanted for spreading dissent and lies to the public. A known Satan worshiper, Father Leon is wanted for his crimes against the church (swearing allegiance to the Devil, giving human sacrifices to him.). He has also started up a radio station, Freedom Radio Nueva Leon, to try and brainwash the populace into joining his Satan cult. Locals are warned to not give in to the deceptions created, and that any information leading up to his arrest will gain the informer a reward of 1000 credits.

Fighting Breaks Out Around Valdez. Valdez, Nueva Leon. Recent fighting in the jungles around Valdez recently, as the forces of the Nueva Leon Workers Party and Paz y Democracia had a few run ins with each other. Former General Declared Enemy of the State. New Santiago, Nueva Leon. Ex-General Miguel Andri has emerged in the villages outlying New Santiago, trying to raise support for his cause. It seems many peasants and farmers have heard of Andris offer of a better Nueva Leon, as well as government jobs in the new government, should they join him and help him to overthrow General Archuleta and his thugs from power. However, he seems to be more interested in the jungles east of the city, rather then the actual city of New Santiago. Many of the villagers appear to have no clue as to where to find Miguel Andri, so the government is asking for any information as to his whereabouts.

Rebel Attack Against Corte Madera Ends in Failure. Corte Madera, Nueva Leon. A surprise attack on the city of Corte Madera by rebel forces under command of former General Fernando de Cortez, calling themselves the Coalition for Rational Government ended in failure on February 17th. The force of 350 paramilitary soldiers attacked the city, which was garrisoned by 300 government troops. At first the government soldiers were caught off guard, and suffered some casualties, but were able to organize and, with the benefit of being dug in defended, they were able to hold back the tide of rebel troops attacking them, and eventually launch a successful counterattack, forcing the rebels back into the jungle. They were only chased to the edge of the city, as the government troops were unsure if it was just a probing attack, and stood ready for a second assault, that never came. The government is now sending reinforcements to Corte Madera, as well as other cities which have come under rebel attacks over the past month, to try and bolster their defenses. So far, this has been the costliest battle for both sides of the war anywhere in the nation.

Father Juan Gonzalez Gains Support Around Victoria. Victoria, Nueva Leon. Father Juan Gonzalez, a priest from the city of Victoria, has started gaining support among the people of the island. His sermons have brought many peasants and farmers out to listen to his cause. Many have now declared their loyalty to him, though only in rural areas. The government does not seem to concerned with tracking him down as they do about other religious men throughout the country.

Farmer Rebellion Put Down. Punta Gorda, Nueva Leon. A relatively small time rebellion of farmers, led by The Sponz calling themselves The Month of Sponz was quickly silenced by the government on the 12th. One-hundred farmers bearing shotguns and rifles advanced on the city garrison, outraged and threatening to use violence. The government troops, having orders to prevent all forms of public disobedience, promptly fired upon the mass, killing The Sponz and many of his followers. A few soldiers were killed, but so were many of the farmers. The survivors fled back to their homes. The Punta Gorda Massacre as it is now known as, has essentially shattered this upstart rebellion and a tentative peace has returned once more to the region.

Guerrilla Fighting Erupts Around Valdez. Valdez, Nueva Leon. With the recent fighting between communist and religious groups around Valdez, another faction seems to have arisen, with their main target being the government troops in and around the city. Using a helicopter to launch quick attacks into town, and mortars and civilian clothed agents to sabotage and bomb/grenade bunkers in and around the city, the Leonian troops are very shaken up. Very strict rules have been placed on all citizens in town, no one is allowed out at night, nor are they allowed within 50m of any military structures. To break these rules results in immediately being put in jail, and interrogated. Many an average citizen has been captured due to straying too close to military bunkers, but one guerrilla soldier was captured, and he did reveal the leader and name of their organization: former General Chris Jacobs, now the leader of the Free Army for the Republican Cause, or FARC for short. The rebel was unable to disclose the location of the FARCs headquarters, as he died shortly afterwards from internal bleeding. Because of the strict rules and regulations, and because of propaganda from the FARC, many citizens are now in favor of them and some have even openly supported the FARC.

Many Flock to Hear Separatists Speeches. Isabella, Nueva Leon. Aaron Perez, the strong leader for the Movimiento de Libertad de Isla, has began giving rousing speeches about how necessary it is for the Islands of Nueva Leon to break free from the corrupt mainland. He has set up a defensive base outside of the city of Isabella and many rural farmers and commoners have come to listen to his speeches. Even some police from within Isabella have come, against orders from their superiors, to listen. The government troops are keeping an eye on Mr. Perez, though they havent acted against him yet. Many within the city of Isabella, however, are beginning to turn against him, as El Movimiento soldiers attack businesses throughout the city, which is also costing him the support of local anti-communists, who have begun branding him as a communist.

Henderson House Coffee Sets Up Shop Near New Santiago. New Santiago, Nueva Leon. The new coffee company of Henderson House Coffee has started a coffee plantation west of New Santiago. Because of the instability in the region, defense safety contractors have been hired to help guard the coffee fields, though for the most part the company seems to be trying to keep out of local affairs. They have hired a significant number of workers to tend the fields, and have begun receiving a slight cash flow from higher headquarters investing in the new operation.

Military Defectors in El Cerrito. El Cerrito, Nueva Leon. Because of the constant propaganda from a group calling themselves the Democratic Army of Nueva Leon (or the ES for short), a few of the local soldiers have actually defected to the rebel cause. Stressing that the soldiers are fighting against democracy and improvement for their country, ten soldiers over the past month have slipped away from their posts at night to join the ES.

@All: Many of you it seem to have not realized that the government has troops stationed in every important and major city. I didn't try to penalize you too harshly for attacking cities now, but next turn the soldiers will be more alert and ready for attacks.
@UNpatriot: I'm sorry if it seems I passed over your orders, I really didn't, just nothing that you put in your orders has made news yet.
@Those who did not send orders: Its okay that you didn't send orders, I didn't give much time, but I'll try to get an update a week from now on if I can (next week might be kind of hard, I am busy this weekend but will still try to get it done)
