Okay, here's the deal, last night when I went to open up my web browser to look at people's orders to start writing the update, my internet crapped out on me and wouldn't connect to any website. So, I finally got it working again, and will start the update tonight, but might not be able to get it up til tomorrow, depending on how busy I am today.

Bestshot told me by Steam that his internet browser and MSN/AIM isn't working, so update won't be coming until it does.. which will be who knows how long

Curses. I hope your internet and MSN/AIM gets fixed bestshot9. I hope nothing serious has happened to your computer. That would suck big time.

Ok it seems I am able to get on websites again, lets see how long it lasts. It is too late now for me to start the update tonight, because I have to wake up at 5:15 in the morning for the rest of the week (PT in the morning sucks, but is necessary) so I will try to get the update tomorrow. I'm really sorry about the delays, I want this to get done too, but I have to be healthy, also lol.

I was thinking that but didn't want to say anything. The people want an explanation!

I have a question not reguarding the update: Are there any other nations we can contact in the world besides the two next to Nueva Leon? Are there any major differences between this world and ours?

Perhaps I can ease your mind on a certain subject.... he goes to PT for his ROTC class at the university. So in a sense he is in the army.

I cannot answer the question about contacting the outside world. Sorry.

Victoria Separates From Nation. Victoria, Santa Nabaco. With the strong support of the ex-mayor of Victoria and the group known as Filhos de Christos, the city and island have broken away from the mainland to form their own government. Many of the government soldiers have also been persuaded to join the new nation, which is calling itself Santa Nabaco. Those that remained loyal to Nueva Leon were able to escape before the new government in charge of the island could capture them. Obviously the government of Nueva Leon is outraged, and refuses to acknowledge the new nation and demands the people in charge to hand the island back over, or suffer the consequences.

Government Attack On Rebel Base Has Mixed Results. Isabella, Nueva Leon. A government sneak attack on the base of the group el Movimiento de Libertad de Isla has been somewhat successful, but also very costly for the government troops. The attack, which was at first disguised as just a meeting between the leader of the movement and the mayor of Isabella took place on the fourth. After an hour of negotiations, letting the rebels slacken, the government opened fire on the guards outside the outpost with the “escort” that had accompanied the mayor. The rebels outside were slaughtered, though there weren’t very many. The leader of the movement was able to escape the building, along with the mayor (it is assumed he was captured, but this is not yet verified). With the rebels gone into the jungle, the government troops burned the base to the ground, and headed back to their garrison to guard the city. Nevertheless, this incident has caused some anger towards the government, as the Movement has been gaining popularity within Isabella.
Casualty List:
EMLI: -10 Militia, -1 Base

Faction Heads Found Dead. Bonita, Nueva Leon. Both Alcazar Leon, leader of the Nueva Leon Union State, and Alejandro Martinez, of The Lord’s Soldiers, have been confirmed dead. Leon was killed while walking around Bonita, talking to the poor. A sniper shot and killed him during the middle of the day, but was not caught. Martinez, however, was killed during a daring assault on the NLUS base. While pretending to seek an audience with Leon, Martinez and his body guards tried to overpower the NLUS soldiers and steal their weapons. They were successful in this regards, but the soldiers were able to shoot Martinez before they could overpower them. All of the NLUS soldiers in the building were killed by Martinez’s men, who quickly fled into the jungle after taking a few casualties of their own, leaving their general’s body behind.
Casualty List:
The Lord’s Soldiers: -5 Paramilitary, -Alejandro Martinez
NLUS: -15 Paramilitary, -Alcazar Leon

Factional Fighting Continues Around Valdez. Valdez, Nueva Leon. It seems Paz y Democracia and the FARC have combined arms in attacks against the Nueva Leon Worker’s Party. While the NLWP attempted an assault on the city, the coalition between PYD and the FARC attacked their base, found it unguarded, and burned it to the ground. This was after many probes into NLWP territory and many small scale skirmishes between the factions. The Nueva Leon Worker’s Party failed to gain much ground on the city, however, as their peasant army was easily pushed back, forcing their armor to pull back with them.
Casualty List:
FARC: -10 Paramilitary
Paz y Democracia: -5 Paramilitary
NLWP: -100 Farmers, -1 Base

Fighting Around Punta Gorda Grows. Punta Gorda, Nueva Leon. This past month has proved dangerous to the soldiers stationed in and around Punta Gorda. Raids on convoys have left many dead, as well as the destruction of equipment. The military headquarters in town wasn’t even a safe place for the soldiers of Nueva Leon, as it was destroyed in an explosion on the fifteenth. Due to the lack of supplies, constant engagements with rebels near town, and propaganda, many of the government forces have swapped sides and have abandoned their posts to help the Rebel causes.
Casualty List:
Nueva Leon: -100 Paramilitary, -5 Trucks
PRNL: -30 Paramilitary
UVPG: -50 Militia

ADNL Spreads. El Cerrito, Nueva Leon. The Democratic Army of Nueva Leon has continued to gain support amongst the many small villages and hamlets that dot the forest. With no real threat from the government, their popularity amongst the commoners in this part of the nation has grown big time. Another reason for their acceptance by the people is their real pacifist ideas, as they have yet to engage in any battles around the villages.

Juan Rojas Declares El Camino De Fuego “Enemy Of The Peoples Of New Santiago”. New Santiago, Nueva Leon. Juan Rojas, owner of Rojas Enterprises of New Santiago, recently claimed El Camino De Fuego to be an “enemy of the peoples of New Santiago.” He stated this because this relatively quiet group has stolen land that belongs to him and his business. The group recently took over a farm run by his company, scaring the workers away at gunpoint when they refused to give up the land. He demands the government step in, but as of now, it seems the government is too preoccupied elsewhere.
Casualty List:
Rojas Cartel: -1 Drug Field

Amon Savag Promises To Help Estacado. Estacado, Nueva Leon. With the recent injustices perpetrated by General Harick because of his apparent mad push for power, and the government’s seeming inability to properly handle the situation, the peoples of Estacado may have found a new hero to stand up for them. Desperate measures call for desperate times, and with promises from Amon Savag to help stop General Harick, the people are willing to try anything. The government has even allowed him to do what he can.

Government Mobilizes Troops. Leon City, Nueva Leon. With the past few months seeing increased levels of violence all around the nation, General Archuleta has promised to put down these evil doers and bring peace once again to the country. Many troops are being sent to bolster defenses in cities across the nation, hoping to be able to scare the rebels into giving up.

Private Military Corporation Open For Contracts. Boca del Mar, Nueva Leon. The Private Military Corporation known as the Nielson Private Military Company has opened up a base in Nueva Leon, near the city of Boca del Mar. They claim to be willing to take contracts from any law-abiding source, and promise to have the contract finished within three months of the time given for it to be completed. They also claim to have fair pricing, which will vary from customer to customer, based on the situation they are presented with.

@Charles Li: I was confused by your spending orders as you can't edit orders for the turn before, so I didn't spend any of your money, it has been banked this turn.

@All: Sorry for the delay, I just had a lot of stuff keep coming up that I had to deal with before I could start the update and I had some internet problems, as I am having some mild ones right now (the internet connection is very very very slow for some reason).

I also didn't get that many orders this turn. That's okay, I'll just start killing off some of the factions whom I think the player has quit.

Also, because my internet is being a pain right now I can't upload the map. I will try again in a few minutes, but if the map isn't up tonight, I'll try to get it up tomorrow, sorry. EDIT: Map is up.

And oh yea, other then this region of northern South America, the rest of the world is the same one from the year 1979. US, USSR, all the other nations, all the same.

To the Lord's Soldiers
From Nueva Leon Union State

We have always advocated peace and moderation towards a unified and safe Nueva Leon. However, you have crossed the line. You will pay twenty-fold for the attacks that have taken our dear leader away, be sure of that.

Whatever you have lost will seem trivial. This is a national outrage.

(Story on new leader forthcoming)

OOC: How very underhanded of the government. I didn't think they would stoop so low as to sneak attack me. Oh well, I still have the mayor.

To: Santa Nabaco
From:EMLI

Congratulations on you independence! It is good to see my dream accomplished, even if it isn't accomplished by me. EMLI would like to be on friendly terms with Santa Nabaco and be its ally in these tough times.

The struggle against Nueva Leon is a problem for both of us. But I would like to propose a deal. If you can supply us with financial and military aid, we may be able to draw attention away from your nation. Nueva Leon will want to hold onto the cities it still has and prevent any further losses. If you can support me and my people, we might be able to take control of Isabella and keep Nueva Leon's gaze away from your nation.

To: Remaining government in Isabella
From: EMLI

Your underhanded tactics have resulted in grave losses for both of our people. We now encourage all of those in Isabella to join EMLI, for a change is coming. It will sweep over the land like a great storm, crushing all opposition. The message of EMLI is spreading, the masses joining us in great numbers. Soon, your citizens will revolt against you and join el Movimiento de Libertad de Isla, likely killing you in the process. But we at el Movimiento de Libertad de Isla are not without mercy. Give us control of Isabella peacefully, and we will do our best to make sure the farmers and workers you have oppressed don't rip you apart. Refuse our offer, and we will have to take military action against you.

To: The people of Isabella
From: el Movimiento de Libertad de Isla

Do you now see your government's true colors? they have attacked diplomats and lovers of peace. And even when they sneak attacked us, the valiant soldiers of el Movimiento de Libertad de Isla captured the evil mayor. Do you really want a government that is underhanded and cruel? Join el Movimiento de Libertad de Isla and gain freedom!

OOC: Dang, that diplomacy is longer than some of my stories!

To: el Movimiento de Libertad de Isla
From: Filhos de Christo

We are certainly sympathetic towards other movements toward liberty and wary of Nueva Leon's retaliations. However, we do not endorse violence as a mean; but as Nueva Leon had jilted a true hand of peace, we will certainly be willing to help. What exactly are your request of our inventory?

To: Nielson Private Military Company
From: Filhos de Christo

We are requesting protection from any possible threats towards Santa Nabaco. What are your terms?

We request 400 credits so that we may rebuild our base and have some money to pay for the arming of our people in case they need to defend themselves. We would also like to ask if it is okay for us to seek refuge in your great nation if anything should go wrong in our mission.

We did not want to take a violent path in liberating the islands of Nueva Leon. But if we must defend ourselves and weed out those that are truely evil, we will do what we must. We thank you for your support. May Filhos de Christo stay strong through these tough times.

I was aware of that, and I also know that Nueva Leon wants to take it back. And I consider it more as that the ex-mayor is the new president and Father Gonzales is simply an outside advisor, of a sort. Is that right?
