RebelNES

Well, I have been working on the update for about an hour now, and I realized I can't finish it. I need spending orders from certain people doing business with a certain security company in order to make the stats correct, and I do the stats as I'm writing the update so I make (less) mistakes on them. Sorry for delaying yet again, but I really was going to do it tonight, though by the time i get those orders, it'll probably be too late.

No, I can't skip those parts, because it throws me off the stats. Don't worry, I wont let this NES die until everyone loses interest. I still enjoy it, just had a rough couple of weeks. After next week, it should be more regular. I'm truly sorry. Hopefully, if I can get them spending orders then I can have the update up tomorrow.

American Aid Workers Come To Nueva Leon. Estacado, Nueva Leon. American relief force members arrived in Estacado early this month, to tour the country to survey the damage and find out what they would need to help the people of the war-torn nation. They ran into no difficulties in Estacado, where they were greeted by the town’s hero Amon Savag. With the people seeing how Mr. Savag was able to bring outside help, they are now believing in his ability to save their city even more. After a couple weeks in Estacado, the group continued south to Punta Gorda, where they ran into some difficulties. Because of the current state of the nation, they had armed security professionals escorting them on their tour. Read the article, Instability In Punta Gorda to find out more.

Instability In Punta Gorda. Punta Gorda, Nueva Leon. With the strong factional propaganda focused against the troops of Punta Gorda and the ever increasing ambushes along the main highway, the city of Punta Gorda has started to really fall apart. While violence in town didn’t spark until later this month, with the arrival of the American relief force, the government has been unable, or unwilling, to send large amounts of troops into town to fight the rebels. Many garrison troops have abandoned their posts to join one of the two factions, or completely withdrew from the city. This has left the city split between the United Villiages of Punta Gorda to the north, and the People’s Republic of Nueva Leon to the south. It is also unclear what started it, but as the American relief force entered the southern neighborhoods of Punta Gorda, their convoys were ambushed and fierce fighting erupted in the streets for a good half hour as one of the aid trucks were destroyed and the security officials guarded the aid workers while they attempted to unload and pack the supplies in the other trucks. They eventually had to give up and abandoned the broken down truck as well as the remaining supplies in it. They went back to the north side of town where they were happily greeted by the citizens there. In all, there were five aid workers killed as well as a handful of security guards. It is unclear if the attackers, most likely PRNL soldiers, mistook the aid workers for government troops, or if they intentionally attacked.
Casualty List:
Nueva Leon: -200 Paramilitary, -5 Trucks
UVPG: -25 Farmers
PRNL: -10 Paramilitary, -1 APC
NPMC: -15 Militia

Comm Tech Buys Out Fresh Farms, Inc. Estacado, Nueva Leon. Because of the danger facing the workers at Fresh Farms, Inc., it appears they have decided to give in and sell their land and business to Comm Tech. The last few months has seen Fresh Farms as the target of General Harrick, and now a new force. Early this month Fresh Farm was attacked by a group of foreigners with an attack helicopter, however, no fighting actually happened. Facing the threat of death from the overwhelming force, the five private defense contractors employed by Fresh Farms laid down their arms and let the attacking force come in. The force of mostly Americans (though they were obviously not US troops) pillaged all they could, making off with most of Fresh Farm’s treasury, before they retreated. Comm Tech moved in shortly there after to take over the now dead business.

NLUS Gains Local Support, Continues To Fight The Lord’s Soldiers. Bonita, Nueva Leon. With last months killings of both the NLUS and The Lord’s Soldiers leaders, fighting between the two factions has only increased. The NLUS has come out on top this month, mostly because they are able to focus all their efforts against one enemy, while The Lord’s Soldiers have been having to fight both government and NLUS troops. The NLUS has continued trying to bring peace to the area, much to the delight to the people, but The Lord’s Soldiers has also been focusing on taking down corrupt politicians, which they have been semi successful at. With increased skirmishes between the two, and between The Lord’s Soldiers and Leonese troops and police officers, many have been killed. There was also a brief attack on The Lord’s Soldier’s jungle base, which was fought off with minimal casualties to both sides, though the body count has risen during this past month considerably.
Casualty List:
Nueva Leon: -25 Paramilitary
The Lord’s Soldiers: -20 Farmers, -15 Paramilitary
NLUS: -10 Militia, -5 Paramilitary

“Volunteers” Arrive To Help ADNL. El Cerrito, Nueva Leon. It seems this month a hand full of foreign “volunteers” have arrived in nation, some how evading customs and government checks, to help the ADNL. Many are Leonese Americans who moved to America years before, but decided to return to help free their country from “the tyrant” that is General Archuleta. The quality of these soldiers vary, some have received military training, either from their own years in Nueva Leon, or as part of the US military, but some have also never held a rifle before, but they all share one goal: to spread democracy in Nueva Leon.

Mayor Of Isabella Killed By Leonese Troops. Isabella, Nueva Leon. When the government found out where el Movimiento de Libertad de Isla had hidden the mayor of Isabella, whom they had kidnapped last month during a surprise attack on their base, they must have figured he was a traitor. The government attacked the little outpost he was being kept at, engaging a force of mostly farmers, but a few militia as well as trucks. The little outpost was quickly destroyed, several farmers were killed, and the government pulled back to the city. A few days later, Aaron Perez, leader of el Movimiento, came out with pictures showing the corpse of the beloved mayor dead at the scene of the fighting. He also included a message to the people about how they had not planned any harm on the mayor and how the aggressive actions of their government has led to his death. The government has made no reply, though it seems the people of Isabella are starting to turn against Gen. Archuleta now.
Casualty List:
El Movimiento: -50 Farmers

Communist Forces Near Valdez Disbands. Valdez, Nueva Leon. After heavy fighting this month, the Nueva Leon Worker’s Party soldiers have all either been killed, or hung up their weapons and returned to their farms. Faced with three enemies, it was only a matter of time before the farmer army would be wiped out. The NLWP, engaging the coalition forces of Paz y Democracia and the FARC, was quickly beaten back, towards the city of Valdez itself. There the government troops opened fire on them. Caught in the middle of the two forces, with no where to run, and with poor military training, most of the farmers were cut down, while their vehicles were either destroyed or abandoned by their crews. There was a brief skirmish between forward elements of the Valdez garrison troops and those of the coalition, but losses from that were minimal, as the few remaining communists fled east and the coalition troops pulled back.
Casualty List:
Nueva Leon: -20 Paramilitary
FARC: -20 Militia, -10 Paramilitary
Paz y Democracia: -20 Paramilitary
-Nueva Leon Worker’s Party

Thanks you guys for hanging in there. Next orders due FRIDAY. Please don't be mad if things didn't happen quite as you had hoped, or it seems I ignored your orders. I was being very careful and some things just didn't work out. Blame chance.

OOC: Bestshot, what happened to the tanks the Commies around Valdez had?
And can I call dibs? :D

Well, Paz y Democracia would be happy to see them under the command of the Free Army for the Republican Cause.

Padre Diego Hernando Diaz de Leon echoes calls for a coalition of Democratic forces to unite against Archuleta and others who would stand in the way of our ideals.

Well, I had to take some guesses and I thought, seeing as you guys probably didn't want to risk a stand up fight with the government forces right now, that once the battle was over you'd just slink away into the jungle. So, what ever tanks and trucks that weren't destroyed were captured by Nueva Leon. (5 each.)

Why were there communist tanks in the city? Surely they'd be out of the city, and thus within our grasp? Additionally, the FARC is military, surely they'd have some people capable of driving tanks.

We have the Fascists on the run, and now is the time to strike. They have lost hundreds of men, their moral is low, and their command structure in Punta Gorda is all but gone. It is time to take the city for good. Will you join us as brothers in arms?

The Following is on a poster recently distributed throughout Punta Gorda

Five gruesomely murdered American aid workers, two of them women, lay dead alongside citizens of Neuva Leon. Around them, aid boxes and first aid kits lay scattered and empty. A subtitle rests below the photograph:

This is what the People's Republic of Neuva Leon did for you. Because of them, your children will die from disease and starvation. Because of them, you will go hungry. When the food and medicine doesn't arrive, we want you to know who to blame.

tenchar. Hypocrites at work.

People's Republic of Nueva Leon
From United Republic of Punta Gorda

What is this atrocity? Our photographers have seen the fight and our trucks have aided them to the workers. They are not military personal! Answer!

The facists are not allowed here. We will attack.

There 'aid' attempt was little more then a ploy to spread their vile messages of Capitalism into Punta Gorda and Nueva Leon, and make this country little more then a puppet of the US. While it was regrettable that 5 innocents were killed, they travelled with military personnel (many of whom were mercenaries, the scum of the earth, killing for little more then money), and were delivering aid where it is not needed. We will provide for the people, like we have been doing. Everything we do is for the good of the people of Nueva Leon. However, for now, we should put this argument behind us. It is time to attack. We will move in from the South while you move in from the North. We will drive the Fascists out. Please distribute as much food amongst the people of Punta Gorda as you can, we will do the same. Punta Gorda will be free.

Capitan Calisto De Vivero's speech to the people of Punta Gorda

Calisto stepped up onto a podium. Large numbers of people amassed around him, waiting to hear what he had to say. He bowed his head, waited for a moment, then raised it high, staring out into the crowd.

"My friends, it is a long and hard road to freedom, and we are merely at the beginning. This revolution, this uprising of the people, is only possible due to your efforts. We are under attack by the Fascists, who want to take your freedom, who preside in a military compound a few kilometres from here, but our sheer power has forced them into hiding! We are under attack from the Capitalists, who want to use you, your labour, and the labour of your children to make sure that the rich stay rich and the poor stay oppressed! But we have forced them out, and have ensured power to the people! We are under attack by the mercenaries, who fight for nothing but money, and have no morals, doing anything their contractor asks them to do. But we have shown them that Punta Gorda is not welcoming to corrupt people who fight and kill for nought but a profit!

I tell you this, my friends, the time of revolution is now. The Fascists are afraid and weak. We will force them out of Punta Gorda, and make it a truly free city. We will spread this hard earned freedom to our brothers and sisters in the rest of Nueva Leon, until we reach the outskirts of Leon City itself! Then, we will show Archuleta what happens when you take away a mans right to freedom and equality!

But I cannot do this alone. I ask every one of you to support me in achieving freedom from oppression! This is not my rebellion! It is the peoples rebellion! This is not my Republic of Nueva Leon! It is the Peoples Republic of Nueva Leon! This is not my country! This is the peoples country! And it is the people that will rise up and make it great! Let us go forth and make this country our country once more! Let us retake Nueva Leon!"
