Red Alert-GAME Thread

A map that doesn't say if we have to search for them or if they just appear as the game goes on.

It appears at random.

Also, what does power do?

Power limits how many buildings you can build as well. More power plants=more power=more buildings overall.

How do we show where we want to build stuff? If we build, say, a barracks this turn, do we get to build anything in it? Can we move things on the turn they are built? If we had any soliders, would we move them now? If so, how would we show where to move them?

You can't build from the buildings you build the same turn.

But now I'm pernamently behind, Soneral. It would be one thing if that happened in a few turns in, when people's tatics and skill start factoring in, but nothing actually happened yet. I am entenssially being punished for playing the game.

1. You're not permanently behind. Trust me, one power plant isn't going to affect anything in the grand scheme of things.

2. You're in North America and still have 35 power to play around with. All it does is affect your early game strategy.

3. The game is mostly about how you can protect your supply lines and place your units. However, how you respond to events and such would be different.

4. Given the faction number discrepancy, 66% of the gems on the map belonging to the Allies, with a randomly generated (but still high amount) of new ore being placed in North America, the +$50 your ally is now getting, I don't see the problem here. I actually did you a favor and rerolled because you originally got a two which is a lot worst than losing one power plant.

What about the first question I asked in that post?

I only have one too, and so do a couple others.

I'm planning to make the best of it, though.

I'm here. And didn't I hear in chat that everyone gets two ore deposits? I only haz one.

1. Everyone got one standard. A few players got two and in one case, three.

2. Ore Refineries cost $140 each and you only start off with $100. You can upgrade your Refinery for $60 though. :)

You could read what I've posted in the group...

No onje should have any random bonuses or penalties, especially so early in the game. That's my problem! I thought this was going to be one of the greatest IOTs, but these random events almost have me quiting.

You're complaining about the more numerous faction getting a minor penalty. If you really want to talk about unfairness, one of the Allied nations should implode.

After a lot of talk I think I've assembled our masterplan - Case Green!

This Case is heavily reliant upon our defenses and ability to stick it out.

Oceania:

Hawaii needs to get on the ball with air power FAST. We have to control the skies, and then get subs to hold the seas around us. As soon as possible we get cruisers to bombard the West Coast and keep the Allies reeling. Australia should be sending troops to fortify Hawaii as soon as possible - if the navy fails we won't have a choice but to hold.

Asia:

Tibet has to be contained. We can use local numerical superiority to grind it away, but that bastard Arya has to be our first target. Mongolia and Siberia have to mass troops - along with Antioch - and hit him as hard a wallop as they can manage. Crush him into the dust. At that point, we'll switch to the defensive in Asia as the enemy's Eye will be firmly fixed on it.() The Poles and Germans and Greeks will roar out of Europe like a cannonball on fire, so it becomes the responsibility of Mongolia and Siberia and Antioch to hold them. You have to hold, people. I don't care what you have to do, but you hold until relieved even if you have to shoot your own men who are retreating. HOLD. THE. LINE.

Europe:

Right, you people are the hammer to Asia's anvil. French forces need to stall the enemy until their troops rush East to deal with the Mongol and Siberian hordes, then surge out while Italo-Spanish troops drive into Greece with Arabian allies. West Africa should lock Madagascar down and keep them from backing their allies up. Take out Germany. As soon as that happens, see if they refocus on Europe. If so, the Asian troops surge out and hit Poland and Scandinavia while Arabia and Antioch keep dismantling Greece. If not, Mech and Tailless are to keep pushing. Repeat until the Allies are gone from Europe. Then send troops to Africa to finish off those pesky Madagascans.

America:

Euhm.....we'll make a new Case for that once we've dealt with Europe and Asia and Africa. Presumably Hawaii is still holding with Australian and Rangooni backing, so we'll have that basecamp to use.

Anyway, that's Case Green - our operational plan. I know I'm late with posting it - but does everyone understand what they're supposed to do?

And here we have the Warsaw Pact's battle plan...Thanks to LH for putting it up in the diplomacy group. I'm only posting this in the main thread cause he was bragging to me earlier about being Warsaw Pact's supreme commander of their united strategy.

Oh noez, you found out the only possible plan we could formulate.

Can you allow faction mirrors now, so we can destroy LH?

Comintern European Military District HQ
Madrid, Spain
1800 hours

Comrade Commander, good evening. It is good of you to join us. While we are waiting for dinner to be served, I am General Saravia, the comrade to my left is General Palmiro... [a tall, middle-aged man enters the room] and here is Admiral Berlinguer. [turns to the admiral] hola Comrade Admiral, this is the new Commander I've been talking about, fresh from the People's Academy... well, yes, of course [turns back to face the Commander] Comrade, today we feast and celebrate your promotion. Nevertheless, we are sending you in a week's time to supervise the construction of new bases in Italy. We have a truce with the Allied dogs but they might break at any moment, and Italy will be vulnerable to German attacks unless we take proper precautions. It's an easy first assignment, almost a holiday, but I trust you to do a good job nonetheless. Let's eat.

[A panicked looking young secretary rushed into the room, and whispered something to General Saravia. He looks grave]

Comrade Palmiro, Comrade Berlinguer, Comrade Commander, excuse me please, but there is an urgent intelligence matter I need to clear up with Comintern HQ. I will be back in a moment...
