Remember when Condoleeza said that Saddam was linked to 9-11?

In Farenheit 9-11, there is a clip of Condoleeza Rice claiming that Saddam was linked to 9-11, which is contradictory to the Administration's current view. Does anybody have the exact quote, as I need to use it for something.

Erm, don't bother. Cheney made a "Saddam linked to 9/11" comment like last week. That should suite your needs just fine.

I need the Condoleeza quote as it happened before the Administration claimed that Saddam was not linked to 9-11, but I can use the Cheney one until I find the Condoleeza one. Do you have the Cheney one, as I searched Google and couldn't find it?

It is a common mistake. I have never heard Saddahm had connections to 911 but he had connections to Al Quida.

I haven't seen Fahrenheit for now. It's out only tomorrow in here. However, I've seen another movie (the world according to Bush) which was talking about it.

The thing that was said then was that even when members of the administration didn't make a clear sentence about it, they were generally talking in the same speech about Ben Laden, the Sept. 11th and as a conclusion in the end Saddam Hussein.

However, if Cheney and Rice have made clear declarations about it. I would also be very interested in knowing them. :)

That is because they only said it a few times. The film showed Condoleeza up at a podium saying that Saddam had links to 9-11. I just need the exact quote.

This is the full quote that she said:

Oh, indeed there is a tie between Iraq and what happened on 9/11. It’s not that Saddam Hussein was somehow himself and his regime involved in 9/11, but, if you think about what caused 9/11, it is the rise of ideologies of hatred that lead people to drive airplanes into buildings in New York.

The very first sentence is the only part that Moore shows in his movie.

 Classic Moore!

I was about to ask, "What's so bad about what she said that Moore would use it?" but I guess he realized that too.

Think about it once again.

During one year and a half, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Powell, Rice or Bush's speech were constantly linking Saddam to the September 11th disaster or to the war on terror in general. If the majority of the Americans were convinced Saddam was involved in the September 11th at the eve of the war, it's not that they are all morons...

When the mob has a common opinion, the mob is often just a parrot repeating what we've taught them to repeat.

Rice was just trying to make her husband --err, president happy. That's right.... president.

I wouldn't be surprized if those two ones had an "affair" together... It's sad Kenneth Starr is a Republican.

Actually, my post was a reference to something Condi actually said. I think it was a press conference or a social function of some sort, and she was addressing the audience, and she said, "I was talking to my husband-- err, President Bush, the other night..."

Wow... Freudian slip much?

It amazes me how desperate the Bush-bashers are.
Oh no, it's not to eliminate Bush, it's just for fun. :p

"I did NOT have sex with that woman"

Well, actually in France, having "affairs" is more an electoral argument. Our former President (Mitterand) had an illegitimate daughter and she's quite famous now (she's writing critics about books). Chirac has also used that as an argument in 2002 elections. I remember when his wife Bernadette had been interviewed telling stories about how Chirac was leaving home on the evening to "work late".

Yet another peice of evidence that Americans are obsessed with sex, yet deny their primal urges. Also that we care too much about the rediculous little things. Our logic apparently runs along the lines of "President lying about having affair = IMPEACH HIM!, President starts a war based on lies = RE-ELECT HIM!"

There is nothing more to think about, at least with what Moore said.

First of all, he made an obvious misquote to mislead: Probably the second biggest thing an artist or journalist can do to lie without actually telling a straight lie.

Second of all, I'm pretty sure Bush and Co. said it was tied to Al Qaeda, not September 11th. Obviously he wants to link it to September 11th in our minds, but still. And there WERE links, just weak, worthless ones.

Links between Ossama and Saddam ? They were declared ennemies since August 1990 !!
Ossama has been firstly known in Saudi Arabia for his speech calling for a rally of all muslim to liberate Kuwait alone from the secular bastard.

You see. It worked even on you. :shakehead

I said they were weak. They were crappy, something like a few Al Qaeda member hid out in Iraq for a year or so.
You mean the Kurdish fundamentalists who were resisting against Saddam's regime ?

Sorry I won't stick you on that topic any longer, it's just that stories like the links between Saddam and Al Qaeda are the exact evidences why I consider Bush's administration dishonnesty is obvious.

I forget the specifics.

I'd really like an unbiased website with tons of quotes from everyone in the administration about WMDs and links to Al Qaeda, to guage the level of dishonesty on the matter...

Unbiased is the key. I'm sure websites like this exist, but they're filled with misquotes like Moore's.
