Major global event:
In a massive celebration all of the people across the world celebrated the long-lasting RTOR2 NES for 5 years, then they stood around and wondered what the heck a NES is for the next 5 years. All fighting was stopped as celebrating began and people stopped all they were doing and celebrated as brothers.
A speech:
RTOR 2 has been going on since September with occasion breaks and pauses. There are almost 2000 posts on the thread making it the largest in the entre Stories and Tales forums and possible even the entire Civ3 forum. There are several other threads and stories posted about it as well. It has survived 2 flame wars one of which almopst killed it. It has survived a shutdown as well as several competeing sequels. As Admiral Super said: "you have two cows. They are immortal."
When the original Return to Roots was started by Toasty i played the part of a domination crazed madman, much like Anarchy is today

. Once in a while i would post pretty stupid NESs which would get at max 3 or 4 players then die after 2 days. When i opened this one i figured it would fail as quickly as the rest. Obviously i was wrong.
Before evyle and imsw left we had 17 players, easily one of the largest if not the largest on the forum. With the humble start of 4 players, me, Toasty, Jason, and uknemisis none of us could have predicted this. Our world has seen 3 world wars and is in the middle of the 4th, we have progressed through many ages of history and are still advancing. nations like babylon, Persia, England, and Greece have all come and gone.
I am posting this because the holidays are coming for you Americans and other people who celbrate Christmas. With all the fighting everywhere i figured your peoples needed a break

.
I see RTOR as the example for future NESs. Already it has spread to other NESs like RTOR5 and stJNES and possibly stshNES if i guess right. After all we can never forget that this NES forum was started upon a NES created long ago which was a true NES. One thing we should never forget like i have said many times since before Toasty started the original RTOR is that the key word in Never ending story is STORY. It isn't Never ending Board Game. On other websites i have encountered Never-ending stories which are stories added onto by people from online.
One final word:
