To figure out my nation stats, I just added up the current population of all modern day countries that I occupied, with different fractions for different countries, then subtracted 25% or 100,000,000 from the total, I forget which one.

You should not go by the population of modern day countries, as they are centered around cultural centers - and since this is a alternate history you should make up your own .
