I don't know if this is widely known, so I'll apologize in advance if everyone knows this.

So, you open up Civ, click "Play Now", and something like this comes up:

I opened this, got distracted, and then came back from the other direction (laptop on a thin table, saw it from the other side) and saw this:

The "random" globe is just upside-down reversed Earth! The image at the top is of the Pacific Ocean! The image just above shows this at various stages of its rotation, as we can see in the ocean:
1:Atlantic
2:Africa
3:Eurasia
4:East Asia
5:Pacific

I just thought this was really cool and you guys should know! :)

Well, slap me and call me "Granny"

:suicide:

Don't use the suicide smilie too often but it's the closest I could find to "MIND... BLOWN"

Seven and a half years of Civ4 and you might be the first person to spot that Easter egg. Noice. :goodjob:

Yup. Noticed this after a couple months of playing. It's what they show when you select a shuffle or fractal map. I noticed it while playing around with map settings (sea level, landmass size, etc.)

It is pretty cool. And "highly unpredictable."

lol. I thought it was common knowledge :D

"When selecting what size and style of map a player wants to use in a new game, a globe with seemingly random land masses rotates in a space within the selection window. The globe is actually an upside-down planet earth with oceans in the shape of earth's continents"

edit : or are people being sarcastic? cant tell :D

Wow, I never knew this! :crazyeye:

One day I even spent like half an hour staring at it going around and still didn't notice it :p

Where is Atlantis ? I want Atlantis and their orange trees ! :crazyeye:

I knew this; I think I saw a post about it a year or so back, but maybe not here in CFC. I didn't notice it on my own, however.
