OOC: Why would I merge them? Simple. They're pretty much the same nation. Portugal is just ruled by a self-appointed Emperor while the American League is ran by an oligarchy. I can't roleplay their personalities separately enough other than the fact they're actually a LOT more isolationist than they appear (they're Fascists who can't be bothered to keep territory they conquered evident by the fact the American League would rather make a new Canada then keep the territory.

Greater South Africa is too racist and is a international pariah. Nordia is democratic and the WEU, originally based on English Socialism, is realizing that IngSoc is too "light" and in recent years has been streamlined to become a mixed economy like Nordia's anyway.

I have a question. If Portugal split from Spain in light of them being nuked back to the stone age, then why do the people of a brutal totalitarian government not revolt from their leaders? They respond to some situations but completely ignore others.

I'm not kidding when I say that the battle that took the longest to calculate was the one for Alexandria because both the Soviets AND Khitan AND Egyptians were fighting there. Those kinds of battles are hard for all the wrong reasons. It seems silly that two NPCs, which are pretty much two sides of the same coin, get in that situation.

Portugal didn't split from Spain. What are you talking about? Portugal has been independent of Spain since.....right after the Revolution really.

Oh my yes. In the (still long off) transition to RIOT II, the Hegemony won't be brought over PERIOD. It's the only NPC at the moment I'm not even allowing other players to take control of as a whole. For all intents and purposes, it's a sinfully powerful nation that turtles like a demon but will eventually break down over the course of THIS game.

You've got a third of freaking Asia. How could you NOT be treated as a world power?
