OOC: Am i the only one who gets lost at "say if the flashpoint is to create a new NPC or incorporate the territory into a different country"?

It means do you want the territory for yourself, a friend, or if the territory is supposed to be spun-out a new NPC.

What if I want to split it into two parts that I will control separately?

Treaty of London

Birmingham invites the British to sign the Treaty of London; the Treaty’s terms are:

-Birmingham will sign a non-aggression pact with the British
-Birmingham will re-establish the position of Sovereign, with the position to be held by the monarch of the British Empire in exile

The British Empire will sign this.

Updated second post with ongoing wars, ended wars, and the last two updates (including this one).

Orders due Friday. Make sure you remember to send in orders for countries inside your sphere!

The British Empire will sign this.

The Castilians will have to confirm it now that Riccese suzerainty over the country has ceased.

Castile confirms all offers made to it this far since it has become independent from the Riccese.

To clarify some private questions, yes. A war between two or more great powers constitutes a Great War.

Make sure you remember to send in orders for countries inside your sphere!
Really? If so, RMK orders are to get as much manufactories as they can, and Baltic Union orders are to spew out navies. (if anything is laft, banked)
===========================
Treaty of Ufa
The Russian Tsar, the Wallachian President and the King of Romania-Moldova meet at Ufa to discuss peace.

President Marcu of Wallachia appologises for panicking at the first sign of danger and gives out multiple peace offers, in hopes the Russian Tsar would agree on one of them.... The fate of many were at stake, but the meeting was rather short, as the Tsar saw an offer he liked. The terms were:
-A 20-years long Non-Agression Pact betwen Wallachia, Russia and RMK.
-Defensive Alliances on all sides.
-All territorial claims of the Russian Empire on territory currently owned by Wallachia and RMK are dropped

The Treaty is still open for the Baikal Horde and the Baltic Union to sign; if all current signatories accept it, of course.

Baikal Horde signs it.

The Kingdom of Bauarn within Holy Rome wishes to formalize treaties of free trade with the Castilian Empire, the Birmingham Trade League, the Kingdom of Norway, the Federal Republic of Coastal Nations, and the Russian Empire. Failing that, Bauarn also offers preferred status for prospective merchants.

Accepted.

Russian Conquest of Novgorod

Not much to say. Novgorod is whipped. The capital has fallen. -6 LP

Then the British jumped in to occupy the last bits. Country completely occupied.

American Conquest of Ethiopia

British Conquest of Scotland

Scotland annexed!

Crisis of Rome

Rome, with no leadership points left to the defense, has been dealt a crippling blow this year by a combined force of the FRCN and British Empire. Despite having a massive fleet, it can't do anything and watches from port as a blockade is placed on the country.

Blockade Percentage: 25%

The same story is playing out in India, as FRCN troops march unopposed into Roman India.

Most embarrassing of all, British troops have taken the capital unopposed. With a single army. [-7 Leadership]

Rome requests an extension on the lock for Egyptian orders due to unforseen circumstances (Dengue fever and unreliable internet connection)

The ART Alliance demands the unconditional surrender of Roman and Egyptian forces. Refusal will be met with harsher peace terms than otherwise be given.

In other news, Istanbul is nice this time of year. We're tearing down the Hagia Sophia and rebuilding it in Halifax.

Treaty of St. Petersburg

-British-occupied Novgorod will be ceded to the Russian Empire
-Novgorod will be annexed fully into the Russian Empire

THE GREAT WAR
(And Introduction of Military Tech)

Rome has been invaded, and the lines have been drawn. On one side, the FRCN and on the other, the Roman Empire.

Publicly declaring war on one side (and everybody on that side) allows you to buy armies at 4 EP each and navies at 8 EP each without RR penalty. The Roman Empire, FRCN, and British Empire receive this bonus this turn as well.

Leadership gained in battles is doubled.

Leadership is no longer used in battles. Leadership is used to increase Army or Naval Tradition, which works like military tech. Army Tradition can’t be traded, LP can.

Existing LP has been converted into Tradition based on preexisting power ranking as well.

Army and Naval Tradition both factor into rankings now.

AUTOMATED LP MARKET

You can automatically buy and sell LP now for 26 EP each. Like armies and fleets, you can not use LP until the next turn. Check this section every turn, as the price can and will change every turn.

If you do not have a capital, you can not buy LP.

GLOBAL ECONOMIC NEWS

Two countries had an economic boom this turn. When a country is randomly selected for an economic boom or bust, further RNG rolls are determined who is affected. Having a trade agreement or free trade agreement increases the chance of being affected.

After initial affected countries are determined, more rolls are determined who they affect, and so on. A country won’t “infect” twice. Riccio, for instance, has so many agreements that it was hit affected once in its own economic boom, and three times in China’s boom. However, once the “those affected by Riccio” roll is done, it isn’t done again to prevent endless rebounding.

For this turn, anybody with just normal trade relations weren’t affected because I wanted to see how it would go with just trade agreements/FTAs. In the future, anybody who has normal trade relations and above will have a chance to be tapped.

Economic downturns work the same way and can be equally dramatic. (10)

GLOBAL AFFAIRS

Every country now has a new trait listed on the stat sheet depending on its power relative to others. NPCs have been to various spheres depending on a player’s rank. Sphered countries can be traded. The only way to remove a country from a sphere is if the sphere holder gives it up.

The ranks are

Insignificant(<-2)
Minor (-1-0)
Regional (z-score 0-1)
Great (1-2)
Superpower (2-3, not extremely likely)
Hyperpower (>3, gamebreaking)

But since these things are based on a z-score, don’t get too bent out of shape. Some countries have inflated scores due to having a large bank (which only count for little), for example. Manufactories also weigh more in the calculation than provinces (because they weigh more in trade than provinces). An army weighs more than a province or manufactory. A fleet weighs the most.

COMMENTARY

The Great War has begun, with FRCN and British fleets harassing Roman shipping at sea while their troops march onto beaches and into countrysides, unopposed, but for the last time.

Final GM Notes

Do NOT post “trade agreements with all” or “accept all” at all in this thread ever. If you sign trade agreements or free trade agreements, you must put that in your orders and you must list every country you are signing with. You also must mention all alliances you are joining, defensive pacts being signed, non-aggression treaties, and embargoes in your orders.
