RevolutionDCM for BTS

I was wondering if this mod saves worldbuilder files? I am going to start making some maps for my Spanish-American war mod, and I want the benefits of DCMRevolution so I do not have to put them in later.

Just a quick question:
How do I find out what my Civ name is called?

@ZachScape
ALT-D should do the trick. You can also modify the name there as well.

@nokmirt
Don't know about world builder files and this mod. Suspect that world builder doesn't care.

@General-Tso
Nice find general! GlobalAltDefines had a missing "_" and should read "DCM_NAVAL_BOMBARD". I dunno, you people keep me honest. I cannot get away with anything :). It means that not many people play naval bombard do they! It will not have ever worked since that hyphen went missing. The option is fairly lame these days in the context of better bts AI anyway.

@Phungus
No no thank you. It is good that this text is put in this base mod as well as other helpful text. The Fin's drive cars really well and now if they play RevDCM, they will should be able to play that well too.

@Keldath
On the winmerge, when you set up two folders for RevDCM2.5 and 2.51, you right click on both of them selected and pick the winmerge option. However that gets you to winmerge but not at it's best. Once in winmerge, you then should go back to the "open" menu, make sure that "subfolders" is selected and then go ok. That actually gives you want you want, a complete and comprehensive list of everything that has changed on the one screen.

@anyone
Now that General-Tso has hawk eyes, I have noticed that the custom domestic advisor ini file has diverged from base as well, meaning that people on 1024x768 screens cannot read all the columns.

Therefore, RevDCM has been uploaded again, with these two fresh changes. If you don't play naval bombard and you customise your own domestic advisor, then re-downloading is immaterial to you.

Cheers.

Just wondering, do we have any idea what is causing the event bug? I had thought you said it was the same bug that was causing the projects issue and the event issue, but I understand the project issue was fixed while the events issue persists.

Also, could you consider including the global warming mod into future RevDCM releases? I was going to try and merge it in myself, but completely lacking in SDK experience will make it a pain. As far as I can tell, it shouldn't really have any gameplay effects, just make global warming and nuclear winter more realistic.

Does 2.51 include jdog's new Unofficial Patch 1.0?

Thanks Glider, I just want to make sure my map saves, its going to be a hell of a project and alot of research.

Thinking this might just be the very mod I am looking for, I downloaded it and think I followed all the install instructions (copied the entire RevolutionDCM folder to BTS\mods folder). It crashes every time it try to load it.

Of course, I am running BTS 3.17 and I do not want to upgrade. I thought part of the concept is to allow the player to have complete control of their game. Well, I don't want to upgrade to 3.19. If the 2.51 release is not compatible with 3.17 there must he a version out there that is, but I can't find it anywhere.

What gives here, guys?

I'm pretty sure this is a bug -

When doing fighter engagements, specifically the mission that allows you to attack the fighters on the ground in enemy cities/forts, the mission seems to be 100% successful, even if intercepted.

Even if my fighter gets intercepted on the mission and receives say XX% damage, unless it is completely destroyed in the interception, it still completes its mission and destroyes an enemy plane on the ground.

This happened dozens of times now and i can only assume its a bug, as it makes for very odd balance.

*edit-

I suppose what should happen is that if the aircraft does get intercepted enroute, the original mission should be cancelled. So even if the interception sways in favor of the attacking plane, it should still RTB and not try to complete the mission. And in the case of a successful interception for the defending plane, the aggressor should also have his mission cancelled and not continue on destroying a plane on the ground despite having taken damage. Otherwise whats the point of the intercept mission and trying to secure the skies if the planes you shoot down still complete their mission ;).

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Has anyone merged this with Varietas Delectat? I'd really like to play this mod with the added unit graphic diversity. I looked at the directories and files to see if I might be able to merge it easily myself, and now my brain hurts. :crazyeye:

Any help here?

well, that's totally uncalled for... I truly hope you'll get a warning for this kind of behaviour :D

Flaming is never okay, but in this instance, perhaps, understandable; however still not okay.

I know someone on the Rise of Mankind forum has, but otherwise, I don't think so. Rise of Mankind has RevDCM as it's core, so it must be possible.

I'd also like to get my hands on an older version of RevDCM (I believe the version number is 2.0 something).

1.2 was the last stable version where everything worked.

2.51 is a solid improvement over that, fixing many of the issues that the move to WOC gave the mod.

2.0 was, IIRC, a trainwreck.

Yep. Hit the nail on the head.

2.51 seems to be working really well though. I'm not exactly exstatic about the fact borked events were cut instead of fixed, but it seems to work well, and makes it so that no major bugs are present. Plus the fixing of the longstanding text issues is a nice bonus. 2.51 actually feels like what RevDCM used to be, I'm glad to see and be able to use a stable and functioning version again (even if some of the fixes are temporary hacks, like the Project interdependency fix, and cutting the broken events).
