RFCA - Arts thread

Here are 2 movies for the Himeji Castle and School of Conficus. (I know the last isn't in the game, but you might use it in the future.)

If you include them, don't put them in the FPK. It won't work properly. (We had this problems with RFCEurope.)

More art files.

Comments:
- The Caitra is the UB for the Majahapit. I think the name should should be changed from "Pendopo" to "Caitra" of "Caitra Tribute". Pendopo is just the name of an element in the javanese architecture. The text files, art_XML etc are included.
- It also includes the text of some wonders. You only have to put them in a XML file. (The tags are already correct)

Have you checked SoI? edead improved the Qutb Minar once more
Looks way better now

I did? Well, I may have changed the colors while doing textures for the 2 other minarets. Which reminds me, I forgot about something in this thread, will get to it

here's the shadow for civaddicted's Gol Gumbaz

In case you missed this one...
Their UB could be the Military Academy. Looks really epic.
The Leaderhead has a strange Background, better use the original one instead (for any chinese civ...still two more to go:)):

Are you planning to use another japanese LH? Tokugawa's reign is just out of the timeline (started in 1603), unfortunately.

EDIT: I just searched through Rise of Mankind, and found something useful. The first can be used as Sri Vijaya Port, the second maybe as Qin Archive.

And i found a way to reduce the size of my models. Should be ready tomorrow.

Thanks for your art again!
About the movied, I am not sure if I should include them now... they increase the size of the mod significantly... I would rather add music, if I have enough :).

Thanks for the tip! I'll use the LH for Han dynasty maybe... and I already had emperor Kammu in mind for Japan... There's also art somewhere.

I halved the size of my blender files, but actually the size of the nif files went up:think:
Anyhow, i removed some details from the Gol Gumbaz and now the size is 1/3 of the former one. I hope it still looks acceptable.
The Bowman of Ghaznavids and Delhi should have another model...i guess you could find something in SoI:mischief:

I was wondering if anyone here has succeeded converting resource graphics to buildings? The way rice terraces as portrayed in RFCA would go well as Aztec floating gardens. Problem is, when used as building graphics instead of resource/improvements, they act as a resource on the tile beneath the city and are accompanied with a graphical error to boot. Different colored cylinders to be exact. Anyone can test it and produce the same results.

So shortly put, does someone here know how to convert a resource graphic to building graphics? If it's too much work and no-one has an answer at hand, I can take this elsewhere.

I don't know how you should do it, but I have a model of a rice paddy that is a building. (I'm using it for a private mod) Should I upload it?

Here it is. It includes the following:

All art files (including the button I use)
The XML art tags
Screenshot of the paddy in civilopedia

That's perfect! That's exactly what I was looking for!
The issue appears fixed as well, amazing. I'll make good use of it, thank you very much.

If you don't mind me asking, is that your own work? I was wondering about a certain other resource convert too.

No. I took it from Civ Gold. I wish I could do this.

Art for the non-spellable UU of Birma

Rise of Empires! Great People, Settlers, Archers, Scouts...

Does anyone have an idea how to dicrease the size of my models? It drives me crazy that they have up to 500 KB, while all vanilla wonders, and it doesn't matter how many details they have, got less than 100 KB :badcomp:

You can do it very easily with XML.

Code:
		<BuildingArtInfo>
			<Type>ART_DEF_BUILDING_PALACE</Type>
			<LSystem>LSYSTEM_PALACE</LSystem>
			<bAnimated>1</bAnimated>
			<fScale>[COLOR="Red"]1.15[/COLOR]</fScale>
			<fInterfaceScale>[COLOR="blue"]0.43[/COLOR]</fInterfaceScale>
			<NIF>Art/Structures/Buildings/Palace/Palace.nif</NIF>
			<KFM/>
			<Button>,Art/Interface/Buttons/Buildings/Palace.dds,Art/Interface/Buttons/Buildings_Atlas.dds,6,5</Button>
		</BuildingArtInfo>

You only have to change the values in fScale. (The higher the number, the bigger the building.) If you have the right size, you can scale the building to a good size for the civilopedia with fInterfaceScale.

It's more useful to use a more updated version of the Rise of Empires mod. ;) (although the link doesn't work for me)
EDIT: Now it does

An option for the assassin unit. (I have already made a button for it, but I upload it when I have more stuff to be included.)

EDIT: never mind. I see you already have an art. Please update the first post.

I will look for some more unit in Varietas Delectat to see if we can use some art this weekend.

I'm looking for some music atm, and an inevitable question popped up in my mind: Is it possible to play another music whether you're playing as a chinese or an indian civ?

This chinese music is so damn relaxing...

EDIT: can't...handle...it...anymore...
I've spendt the last day listen too chinese music. I beg that you find something useful amongst those songs. If you hear chinese music while playing, it's another big step to getting rid of that hidious alpha-version-smell:D
I somehow feel like listen to Death Metal the whole night to get psyched again:rockon:

In the attachment are screenshots of all units I think we can use. (The only civs I used are: China, India, Japan, Khmer, Korea, Mongolia) Please choose the ones that can be used in the game.
