Rhye's of Civilization - the fastest loading mod Expanded - PART II

Yeah. I'm mostly a RFC for CIV4 player, but I still occasionally play RoC with my changes (Added the Malinese Empire at the expence of Byzantines - they are in RFC CIV4, so why not?) added the Small Wonder for Europeans that produces colonists in the Renaissance/Early Industrial to compensate for the lack of colonization.

And it's no wonder Europeans go to Siberia, what's with all the Barbarian Horses 2-3 turns away from the Russian starting positions.

Could someone help? I downloaded the mod, but I can't figure out how to play it :(

There are usually instructions on the first page. What you need to do with this particular mod iirc is double click on the install pack you downloaded and go through the install process. When it asks you where you want to install it to tell it something like C:\Program Files\Atari\Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios (the italisized part may be anyone of various names that came in the various packages of Civ3, ie: Infogrames Interactive, Take Two, etc.) Then navigate to the above folder and check to see if you have a folder that looks like its from this mod (probably RoC or RoX or something--maybe a couple) and a file that ends in the extention .biq that denotes some name that you would be able to recognize. Remember you need C3C or Civ3 Conquests to run this.

Thank you VERY much.

Help, it's not showing up under civ content :(

Try "Conquests!". Remember to have your version of Conquests patched to 1.22

Not there either.

Look in both your Conquests\Scenarios and Conquests\Conquests folders for the .biq file I mentioned. It must be in one of you Rhye's folders and needs to be in one of these (whichever one your folder is in)

Oddly, it's not there. It's there as a text document, yet not a .BIQ file. Help?

Ok, well not a whole lot to go by but,
1) Did you use Windows Explorer to search for it (shows all file types)
2) Is there a Rhye folder of some type?
3) Have you checked in the folders for the .biq

If you answered No to 2 and Yes to the others its time for a reinstall.

I fixed it, thanks a lot for your help.

It was in a different folder, I just dragged and dropped >.<

have just start (re)playing this mod after temporary lost of interest in civ 3 :p

now playing as England with emperor difficulty ;)

I think my unit lines may have somehow been corrupted. For the moment(early in the game, that is), it seems to be isolated to the warrior unit lines. I've tested several civs. And it looks like Rome and Scandinavia have the worst of it. The civpedia shows that Rome and Scand have 3 warrior units available! Both have the 1st warrior listed in the pedia available to them. Then, they have the 2nd and 3rd available to them respectively. and I think the 4th or 5th in the list. The 2nd and 3rd are the proper ones as they are the Warrior>>Legionary>>Fusilier>>etc. for Rome and Warrior>>Berserk>>etc. For Scandinavia. Unfortunately, only the 1st unit is listed in each civ's build list at the city screen.

I've looked over the biq several times, and the only unit listed as available for Rome is the 2nd which leads to legionary, and the 3rd which leads to Berserk for Scandinavia. How can those others be showing up as available?

Does anyone have a good representation of how the unit lines should appear so I can go through and fix them without a bunch of experimentation (and possible mayhem to the rest of the unit lines)? :D

Thanks folks!

My favorite mod.

However, I made a few changes.

Holland deleted. Added Poland. The Netherlands lies between France and Germany. It is hampered by the German expansion. Between Germany and Russia a lot of space. This is a historic region of Poland (with the principality of Lithuanian). Expansion of Poland in Baltic Sea coast and Ukraine. Unique units are winged Hussar and polish medieval infantry (like swiss).

Removed Byzantium. Added Tatar (Golden Horde). The capital of Sarai Batu (Volgograd). Expansion of the South Russian and Kazakh steppe. Unique units warrior Hun (swordsman), and Nomads Horde (mongolian keshik). Yes, this is a controversial option. But in the games for Russia and Poland will be very interesting. All the medieval history of Russia and Poland battle against nomads Horde.

In Central Asian desert. This is wrong. Now in this region 50 million population. I added the rivers Amu-Darya and Syr-Darya from the Pamirs to the Aral Sea. Added plains near Lake Balkhash (Alma-Ata). Central Asia inhabited by barbarian (camel riders). Resource of silver and uranium (uranium mining is in fourth place after Canada, South Africa and Australia) This land for the expansion of Russia, Mongolia, Persia and the Arabs. In this land can make unique civilization. Kushan empire for example.

Western Siberia and Kazakhstan. Corrected rivers and lands.

Russia. Fixed Volga, Don and Russian hills.

Europe did well. I added the plains on the shores of the Baltic and North seas. Sea reduced. For the expansion of Germany and Poland.

Africa. Slightly reduced the Sahara. Added plains in Namibia near uranium.

Mongolia. Added two rivers. Kerulen (mongolian river) and Onon (the birthplace of Genghis Khan). Near Chita added uranium (Krasnokamensk - the largest uranium mine in Russia)

China. Added uranium for a Chinese atoms.

USA. Reduced the desert in the west.

Minor editing of resources (coal, iron) around the world.
