Here you can give examples on characters (any medium) that in some way is ridiculous when everything else is considered.

Having lately played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I think it is fair to say that Mission Vao could be considered atleast bit ridiculous:

Spoiler Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic/Mission Vao :

At just 14 years old she manage to join the players party, a party of exceptional characters to begin with. Even though she is the youngest member of the party she is perhaps the most skilled putting the best of republic, jedi and mandalorians to shame. Apparently nobody seems to think it is worth it to train their soldiers in the art of demolition or security slicing meaning people that have worked in the military even before Mission was born are completely clueless at these things Mission have mastered.

Her combat skills are not necessarily inferior to the rest of the party members either. Sure she may not take many hits before she go down but on the other hand she is quite hard to hit, not to talk about that she is so skilled in stealth that pretty much nobody can see her. Her true combat skill is after all her extreamly effective sneak attack which is so damaging that you wonder why nobody else have learned that skill.

Sure she have spent her whole life living in danger and must have developed some extreme skills but I would assume that applies to the rest of the party members as well but apparently age don't give them any advantages over her, and yes she hates when people use her age against her.

So basically at age 14 Mission is at a level of skill few people would ever be able to reach in their whole lifetime and I would assume her skills just improve with age meaning she could probably become the greatest assassin in her lifetime but it don't really fits her personality.

Ridiculous in what way?

Absurdist? Stupid? Overrated?

The entire cast of characters of Star Trek: Discovery is ridiculous. They don't even have a cute beagle (like Porthos in Enterprise, another series I didn't like) to redeem this show.

Jar-Jar Binks, we'd have to start with.

Osric, of course.

Thersites.

Sancho Panza comes to mind. Or his master.

Leopold Bloom.

J Alfred Prufrock, by his own admission.

Sonichu. He's just so great and powerful that all the other characters in the sonic-universe feel insignificant in his presence.

The titular character Herbie from the film series of the same name. A car with a mind of its own. Absolutely ridiculous!

I'd actually claim that real life was the ridiculous one for not being as awe-inspiring as our yellow-armed friend.

Everything after Cell, and many things before.

Woodstock. The storyline that's currently on my daily comic strip feed is when Woodstock decided to go south for the winter, but he's lousy at flying. So he decided to walk, but wasn't sure which way was south. Snoopy packed his supper dish and is going with him to help him get to wherever south is. It's an interesting travel arrangement; Snoopy was a bit put out that they sleep in a bird's nest at night, and Woodstock is put out that Snoopy opted for lunch at a lunch counter. He's so small, he can't see over top of the counter.

Here are some ridiculous characters:

Spoiler :
!@#$%^&*(()_-|\`~/[]{}

Everything after Raditz.

Also that weirdass lizard guy with the bubblegum spit from Dragonball
Most of it was sufficiently self consistent to be watchable through Cell. Instant transmission notwithstanding (I wish they just said it bends spacetime).

Oh, I'm quite fond of Leopold, myself. But that doesn't mean he's not ridiculous.

When there's an Insufferable Characters thread, Dedalus will be on it, don't you worry.
