RifE 1.20 Bug Thread

Garudian of Pristan Pass doesn't seem to work. I got a bad start to a game, so I decided not to waste the load and world buildered myself a unit near Pristan Pass, and... nothing... No gargoyals apeared. I have tried this twice, and both times, nothing...

:lol: I had that happen to me while testing it, actually.... The code will not allow them to spawn within the first 10 or so turns. Prevents you from dying instantly. Wait a while, then try it. ;)
 
couldnt get that bow of the long-sighted unfortunately so that i remembered a bug i actually wanted to report in patch B already but forgot:

moving your unit upon another player/barbarian treasure chest appears to destroy it without you getting the item. (whether that be zarzaz bow or gela from hyborem or or or, doesnt matter). the only chance to get the item is if the enemy carrying it is the only enemy in his tile, then and only then your unit will move in and automatically pick the item up (getting orthus axe worked just fine) from what i experienced.

might check out how orbis does it since i never had this problem there - then again orbis doesnt create treasure chests like FF does for items from killed unit but simply drops the item itself.
 
As Doviello and Ljos -tested with both within same game-, could not pick up treasure chests dropped by gargoyles whom were spawned -presumably*- by Pristan Pass.

*Our team -in MP- didn't trigger the pass to spawn the gargoyles, but we did kill one of them which prompted us to pick up the chest. We couldn't -no button to do so-, and so we sent a scout to the pass -where we thought it came from- there we found: a chest on the pass -at the top of the mountain- and a chest to its north east. We tried to pick up the chest to the north east but that also had no button to do so.
 
Tya Kiri doesn't give Apprentices Channeling II.

Also, while Tower Mages get the Unready promotion, they don't seem to go barbarian.

Should have been able to... Would you mind doing a test for me? Place Zarcaz, kill him, and try and take his bow... Then do the same for Orthus. If you can take the Axe, but not the bow, then it's something with the new equipment I added. If you can't take either, than it's a larger bug.

Hmm... She should have, as they're arcane, but I'll look at it. Will be fixed in the patch.
 
I can't seem to start a game, either.

Tried about 20 times, got in once just to crash after ending turn 1.

Tried both with and without my normal game options, using ErebusContinent, Erebus, Fractal, and Big & Small.

Can someone whose gotten in list what options/map they used? I'm dying to see the new dire hamsters!
 
Ok, I'm getting a crsh as soon as I hit "Play". The loading screen apears for a flash, then it crashes.
 
Axe was able to be taken, bow was not.

Looks like it's a spell that needs to be cast. The item is being dropped as equipment, I assumed you'd simply be able to take it... Assumed wrong. :lol:

At least I know it's a simple thing... Will fix it.


As for issues starting a game, I have no idea what's causing it. Can't test just now though... Tomorrow at the earliest.
 
I'm having weird stuff starting a game as well - instant crashes upon starting the map/world initialisation process - although it seems to be intermittent. It also seems to be when I change map script although that may have been coincidence.

The best thing you can try is starting a 'Normal Game' (not a custom game), accept all the default settings, along with whatever map script you're playing (I'm using ErebusContinents just to make sure I'm at maximum compatibility with whatever Valkrionn's doing).

It may start, it may not.
If it doesn't : Repeat above. You'll probably get it on the second or third try.

Once it starts successfully, then quit and start a Custom Game. Change settings as you prefer (I'd leave Flavour Start in though in particular as the mod semems designed for that) and in my experience you're good to go.



EDIT: It also seems that sometimes the map can get stuck on some kind of 'seed'.
I couldn't generate a map using ErebusContinent for some reason (Crashed on generation over ten times, I was trying some stuff) - so I generated one map with Tectonics which went OK - then went back to ErebusContinent, and generated a map just fine.
Going to be very hard to diagnose, whatever it is :P
 
I wanted to create missions to automatically place "take gear" buttons, but never found the time for it. Still, now you need 1 promotion + 1 spell instead of 1 Promotion + 2 Spells + 1 Unit, so it is a bit better :)

It's much better, actually. I just forgot to check it. :lol:
 
Einion Logos seemed to have red bubble archers when I saw him.

Edit: A couple random Lanun workers were red bubbled too, not all of them though, to my teammate in MP they appeared normal when they did not with me. We are in sync as well.
 
I've managed to kill Sheelba - her last city is destroyed, her death message displays, and she is removed from the leaderboard. Once I click "close" on the death message, she reappears on the leaderboard. :(

I've attached a before and after save game, however I have since opened up worldbuilder. It seems that one of Sheelba's controlled Forts has a massive cultural border. I guess that's the cause.

Also, as I think a few others have noted, some Elohim units are red blobs. Just check out the Elohim to the West in one of my attached saved games.

The Shards from the gargoyles are not able to be picked up either.
 
I've been getting lots of crashes too. Spreading Ordo was a problem. I WBed it into the city and the crash didn't happen, but two turns later it did again.

Also Ophelia (as the Scions) does not start with Korinna.
