RifE 1.20 Bug Thread

Egrass the Founder cant build Ice Nodes.
What I so fare havent found out is how Jontar sould spread Religions (The normal Units for this are blocked and at last the first Disciplin unit the Gothi also dont seem to be able to spread religion)
 
Other glitches:
1) Am I supposed to summon a horde of frostling with priests? They die when they attack, but it's possible to amass 1000 units. Also they will turn in ~ 2000 frozen souls :D.
2) Should winterborn units be able to get Wintered promotion? I think those two should be mutually exclusive. My Priests of Winder are Wintered, and it doesn't make sense :).
3) An event where you inscript a monument: there could be an option for +2 :hammers: BOTH for Illians and Frozen. Also block the "+2 food" selection because it doesn't make sense.
4) Again, summoned frostlings give me 2 frost souls instead of 1.

The installation langage setup is english, but yes the game setup langage is french. I tried to use english is the menu but it does not work : i can't choose any langage because there is no selectable other langage.

What can i do ? Before the last big patch, it works without any manips.
 
So, here it is, the problem is that the game is setup as french thus you have no font.

Now we should find out why is it so. Did you make a clean installation and I hope you didn't overwrite the previous folder the 0.21 was in?
 
I did that :

1) Desinstallation of FFplus 0.21 + Beyond the sword + Civ 4
2) Manual suppression of all files in the Firaxis game repertory
3) Reinstallation of Civ 4 french + BtS french + BtS 3.19 patch + FF plus 0.22
4) Executing the FFplus 0.22 ---> The big bug
 
1) I desinstalled Bts french version
2) I reinstalled Bts english version, but i think only the setup langage was in english... because it has not changed

I think i have no BtS in english... I don't understand the previous FFplus worked without problem although this version not...
 
Open "Start" menu, select "Run...". Type in "regedit".

Browse and select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 4 - Beyond the Sword.

What's the value of DEFAULT_LANGUAGE key?

2. At present Dune Wars only supports being run with the English language option switched on. Trying to run the mod in another language results in a blank menu. If you have this problem you just need to select English language in the option menu of the base game, and then relaunch the mod.
Thus your problem is known.

Hmm. mine default_language is 19... I guess because I've patched a russian version with an english patch.

1) Try to set it up to 19 and see what it changes.
2) If it's not working, revert to 9. Then launch a clear vanilla game, go to options and select "english". Exit the game to desktop.
3) Launch the vanilla game again (make sure it's english now) and launch the mod from the advanced menu.

P.S. I hope you tried to set up it to english in VANILLA game before, not in the mod directly?
 
I prefer to think of it as emphasizing different parts of what was already there. ;) You already had the norse names. the thralls (a norse term for slave), etc... I just trimmed off the random Greek bits and pushed it farther along the Norse axis.

Dying race...I'm lukewarm on, as a matter of personal taste. It is a trope that I find a touch worn. Doomed race I can groove on, and it fits the Norse theme. Representing that doom is tricky...perhaps a unique event or three? I might tie my secret project into the doom of the Jotnar somehow. ;)

I by no means wish to discourage a different take on Giants though. Plenty of room for modding. A race based on the Olympians/Titans might be fun, for example... We even have some trimmed art that I'm not/soon won't be using (Cyklop, Titan).
I think the bit that I don't like is that Thralls used to be people who willingly took shelter with the giants, not slaves and a food source. The new design feels very Calabim-esque, with a an elite upper class oppressing and feeding on a weak population and heavily farmed high population cities, and it doesn't seem to fit with a civ that has two neutral leaders and one good leader.
In any case, I'll start a new thread about this. It may have to wait a bit, though - I'm about to be without a computer for three days.

In my current game as Hafgan the Purger - an Aggressive/Barbarian Minor Leader - ol' Hafgan somehow managed to become a Major Leader without ever gaining a trait. The "Minor/Major/Emergent" listing for Hafgan in the Leaderboard transitioned from Minor to Major at some point, though I never noticed when; I'm going to assume it happened when I founded Octopus Overlords.

There was no event informing me that Hafgan gained a trait, and he is listed as simply Aggressive/Barbarian everywhere I can think to look. So, either I am looking in the wrong place to find out Hafgan's traits (flag in the top-left of the screen) or else it's a major bug


The attached save game is from about ~50 turns after I founded OO.

Not a bug at all, actually. I know I mentioned it on the Forums, but I forgot to mention it in the changelog...

New Leader Setup:
Major - As before
Minor - Same as Major, just not in the Lore. Becomes Major after settling/capturing a fourth city.
Emergent - One trait, gains trait via actions. Becomes Major after gaining a trait.

At the moment there ARE a few Minor leaders with just one trait... Most of them will be Emergent in a few patches, forgot to fix them in the mean time.

The reason Minor becomes Major hasn't actually been implemented yet... Will be adding a Diplopenalty between Major leaders and Minor/Emergent leaders.

I have reinstall Civ 4 + BtS and the 3.19 Bts patch + FFplus 0.22 setup but the bug has stayed here...

There is not the bug when i use Civ 4 in normal mod.

Looks to me like one of my textkeys has a blank entry.... Will need to find which one specifically. I always fill in all languages with English text, but a few people I merged from did not, which could cause issues.

Which file is it in? I want to fix it quickly.

P.S. Oh, it's in XML? I thought the check was in .py files :D.

P.P.S. Am I missing something? Why is there OPHELIA and OPHELIA2? Isn't it too confusing, why not to rename the tag?


When you include a new art in XML, don't forget to include a unit in FPK as well :D.
P.S. And don't forget to include Elohim scouts, adepts, hunters, longbowmen, mages, horsemen, horse archers, chariots, champions and axemen along with the archers. You basically forgot to include any new elohim art at all.

Well, Ophelia and Ophelia2 are the same leader. Only difference is traits for the Scion version. Thought about doing it via python in ongamestart, decided that would be confusing for people who didn't know about it.

To fix it, open eventtriggerinfos.xml in assets/xml/events, search for EVENTTRIGGER_POP_KORRINAOPHELIA, scroll down through the list to <PrereqLeader>LEADER_OPHELIA</PrereqLeader>, and add a 2 at the end. ;)

It's Channeling II they lack.

Which is also fixed. They were forbidden Channeling II from the RLD mod, hadn't caught it.

I think it's a bug: Frozen winterborn units when they die return as frozen spirits.

I had a 20 size city in 30-40 turns. You build a scout in 1 turn and sacrifice it immediately.

I don't know if it's a bug or not... But it's going to be blocked in any case. Good catch.

  1. I believe so, but the frozen souls conversion needs blocking. :lol:
  2. TC01 said they should, I believe... Will hunt his thread to find his reasoning, see if I agree with it.
  3. Ah, yes. Need to open that up to the Frozen as well... Soon it will be for all followers of the White Hand. ;)
  4. Will be blocked.
 
More Bugs with Egrass the Founder
He dont have the Button "Route to Mode"
Also he can upgrade to Jotnar Reaver what is strange for a UU to be able to upgrade to a ragulare Unit.

btw. all my Reports so fare are from the first downlodable 22 version
