Rise from Erebus 1.30 Bug Thread

EDIT: Dunno if this has been stated before. Is about building that substract culture.

The most common is Scion's emperor's mark. If placed on a city that do not generate any culture (the city start generating negative culture), and left there for some time, eventually that city would have reached the limit of negative culture (possible?) and go directly to the maximum amount of culture.
This actually happened to me, I saw a message stating "An city has reached legendary culture". I looked to victory conditions, and such city, had an incredibly high amount of culture for a mid game. Dunno if possible to check this.

Cities with negative culture get destroyed. I don't know how many times I've raged at the Balseraphs when Loki walks into a freshly settled city and wipes it off the map with Disrupt.

As far as a surge of culture, someone likely used a Great Bard. I know they give 12,000 culture in Marathon speed, which iirc is enough for Legendary, so I'd imagine it's likewise for lesser speeds.

Another affinity is call more OP for them.
Just put a cap on max affinity gained strenght and that's it!.
No, there will not be a maximum cap. That defeats the purpose of affinity, may as well just give +strength with the one resource and be done with it.

Didn't it use to be that the Legion got a flat +1:strength: from Death/Shadow mana? Back when they had no population limits.

And when you fight against someone who is immune to death, all that affinity was worthless. Now you get +10% strength, so even if they're immune to death, your affinity still matters. Pretty good trade-off, in my opinion.

Oh, and Opelia of Bannor needs something to say when she starts a war instead of just a cold glare. ;)

Speaking of Ophelia, is it just me or is she HATED by EVERYONE?

Regardless of whether she's Bannor, Sheaim, Dural, or Scion, I see her as being everyone's worst enemy.

I can't really see anything in her in her bio that screams outright anathema towards her on the magnitude I'm seeing. While +2 isn't that high, I don't really see why Lorelei Coral would be furious toward her. And all four people she's met are her worst enemy. Rather perplexing.

No, the culture surge isn't from a Great Bard, which gives only 4000 culture in Normal speed with 50000 (or is it more?) required for Legendary culture. You simply multiply these numbers by 3 to get the Marathon scale. It's most likely a bug -- I remember one caused by espionage conversion to culture, maybe it's a leftover.

The legion had a standard affinity before the rework.

And I'm fairly positive the culture surge is from it actually going negative. We need to place a check against that. Cities with negative culture are not destroyed. Your cities were destroyed because that spell flips cities at 0 culture to the Balseraphs, and he razed it. :p

Like I said, it's from negative culture. We need to put a check in against it.

I think this is probably a bug. Or, an unintended side effect of v1.3 changes anyway. Wolf Pens now require Carnival but Doviello should be an exception I think. So the rule should be Carnival OR Doviello.

Not only does Doviello make sense, but since they spawn wolves, the unit maintenance kills you unless you drop them into pens in your cities.

Alternative: give the wolves the free maintenance promotion.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but what do you need to do to build liberation these days? Can it be done? I researched Elementalism, but that didn't do it. Then I went for Priesthood and White Hand, still nothing. Do I have to be evil or neutral? Thanks!

Playing as Xivan T'nava, leading the Amurites, my Mendacites could only take "Theft of the Divine" in an Elohim city that had built a mage guild. (Userper is fun =D) Wizard Halls didn't work.

Playing as Austrin

Very minor bug in the not-OP-in-any-way Attack Falcons' air strike ability: the </color> tag at the end of the message they give when damaging something doesn't have the > at the end (so it's a </color tag instead). Not sure what else has the air strike ability, guessing it's the air strike ability and not the falcon itself.

Here's the message, courtesy of a WB-placed warrior. Also had it happen on some frostlings (thank you, Auric, for finishing Samhain. I do so enjoy the frostlings that are EVERYWHERE.)

Edit: The great and powerful Windows Grep has decided the file ...\XML\Text\CIV4GameText_Modcomp.xml is partly to blame, under the TXT_KEY_MISC_YOU_ATTACK_BY_AIR tag. Other part of the problem is likely where the color for Bhall/Savages is defined.

A quite funny bug:

I have no text in the menus and half of the text ingame is missing.
I've played many other mods (FFH, Fall Further, Orbis...) and never experienced this.
I was SO looking forward to RIFE but it's not playable this way.

Tried so far:
Reinstalling
NET Framework updating
Changing resolution, windowed mode, quality
Launching from Beyond the sword main menu and with the RIFE Launcher
Disabling the Mapscripts and Modules

Machine:
Core i7 870
4GB Ram
Geforce 275
Win7 64 bit

My menu looks like this:

bug.JPG

RIFE Status: Vanilla (no modmodmods ;) )

Change your language to English? Most cases this happened, the player had a non-English language set up.

Playing the Kuriotates with Cardith as a leader seems to result in extremely long loading times, between turns and when opening any city menu. Other leaders are fine, maybe I'll try with Cardith leading another civ... seems strange as a bug, though.

EDIT: Possibly caused by the "player cannot build settlers" option? I'm starting a new game now and nothing's wrong...

Do you too have such horrible problems with stability?

If i want to reload saved game (ingame) almost always crashes due to bad allocation of memory, (but the first load after launching the mod loads well) also game likes to often crash after ending a turn (the more advanced the game the often).

This is very irritating since RIFE loads itself (and saved games) much much slower than vanilla or ffh2

I like this mod a lot and wanted to play with friend, but with all those crashes im encountering (atm im playing archos and game crashes a lot more than in my other rife games so far) it seems unplayable online.

Do you know if any fixes are going to be released soon?

ps. im no longer playing archos, cant get to next turn without crash :/

If I remeber correctly, that's a issue caused by some RAM problems... something like RfE requiring more memory than Windows will normally allow a single program to use. I browsed the internet for quite some time before finding a solution (which I sadly forgot XD), but it requires tweaking some Windows parameters, it's really easy.

It wont' save ALL problems, though. RfE will load everything -but heavy save files, once opened, will cause the program to crash if you try to load anything else (quicksaves, even returning to game menu).

No offense, but thanks for nothin'. :crazyeye:

Kind off. Do a forum search for MAF Fix or Memory Allocation Failure Fix and you should find it. To lazy to do it myself. :P

Won't solve all your problems but most of them, actually I got even less MAFs then Ilyes.
