Rise of Asia

I dont think a UU worker is best, because its a UU that lasts the whole game, while swordsman only lasts a certian amount of time.
I just came up with a list of the civs and leaders and the school's PC crashed.
I dont think we should change the era names.

Sounds like a good choice, but I don't understand why that particular ability. I would make them work faster, not run over the Himalayas.

Basically making a concept literal. They were socially mobile, so they're literally mobile. :crazyeye: :p

I didn't know you can make worker units work faster. I didn't notice that "Worker Strength" option there. :crazyeye:

Having a worker that has 2 move or all terrain as road (faster) will be both an advantage and disadvantage. Advantage would be move and work in the same turn. Disadvantage would be uncaptureable by other Civ and no GA from UU. ;)

One of the ancient tech could be paper making. Also, I would suggest the epic Ramayana as oppose to Kamasutra. :p And also remember, magnectism should come aT a very early age (ancient chinese uses South Pointing Cart (指南车) way way back in BC. ;)

Three notes on your list:

1) As I mentioned a while back, one of the most famous kings of Yue was Gou Jian. I'm sure you know his story. :)

2) "Sanjaya" is a dynasty name (and incidentally also a character from the Mahabharata ;) ). It was a Hindu dynasty whereas the Sailendras were Buddhist. One oddity is that both may have existed at the same time. Another is that Borobudur (which was perhaps built by both dynasties) started out as a Hindu monument, then became a Buddhist monument, and then was completed by a Hindu dynasty (the Sanjayas who built Prambanan). I've done some research on this topic so if you like, I can look through my information and find a Sailendra name for you. :)

3) If you're using Suriyothai, how about renaming Sukothai to Ayutthaya?

Suriyothai was queen of Ayutthaya, but I suppose a minor discrepancy doesn't matter that much, especially since this is an epic mod. You should change "Sanjaya" though. "Sanjaya" is a dynasty name (and a name of a Mahabarata character). I can look for a name of a Javanese king from around that time period, if you like.

Yes that would be nice. Im keeping Suriyothai, I want atleast one female ruler here. And I already made the head. If I could find one more maybe from India that would be great too.
Also the leaders arent perfect, I usually just picked the founder of each kingdom. I anyone has a better choice just post it.

OK then. I'll post up a leader name around 1 PM on Pacific Standard Time. I need to go back through my research information since it's been a while. ;)

How does the Wonders list look like by the way?

It's very late; I want a chance to respond to the civ list regarding South Asia (India) but don't want to give misinfo with my tired brain. Will do so tomorrow. Noteably: there is a good choice for female ruler in Taprobane rather than Vijaya; he was an invader from the mainland. I have to look up her name, will include it in my post tomorrow.

Heres what I thought Shiro would be a great focus for the four eras of the epic mod...

Stone Age and Copper Age: The founding of the oldest civilizations in the region, and the development of civilization. Represents the Stone Age, as well as the Copper Age

Ancient Times: The classical period of the Chinese kingdoms and Indian kingdoms. The founding of the silk road. Represents the Bronze Age and the Iron Age.

Medival: The height of Asian civilizations. The age of the great Chinese voyages, Korean innovation, the conquests of the great Indian rulers, and the age of the Samurai. Represents the Middle Ages and the Gunpowder Age(called the "Renaiissse" in the Western World).

Imperial Ages: Increasing contact with western nations leads to the great change. India is mostly conquered by the British Empire. The Japanese expierence the Menjii Restoration and transform from a medival feudal society into a powerful industrialed nation. Covers the 18th and 19th centuries, the same period as the European Enlightenment and the height of Imperialism.

I for one would prefer the thing to focus on the ancient/medieval period. :)

That's the way I'm having it with the "Art of War" mod, from the Shang Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, except that the premise is to build up a strong unified empire that could withstand European interference (whereas historically the Europeans came into contact with empires already on the decline). I put up a thread a year ago, but it's pretty much ignored so I put that mod on hiatus. :crazyeye:

Anyways, will there be unique techs for each civilization? Unique techs (non-tradeable, non-era techs that a civ starts out with) could give civilizations unique wonders or improvements. Just so the civ doesn't build a certain wonder or improvement too early, the building could require a resource, improvement, or government that shows up much later. Maybe for example the Japanese could have Kyuuba no Michi as a unique tech, which would give them Himeji Castle as a unique wonder, but cannot build it unless they are under the Feudalism government.

By the way, Wyrmshadow made a Chinese ironclad? I thought only Aaglo made one...?

I think we should start atleast in the bronze age. Stone age is waaaaaaaay too ancient. The civs are from around 300bc-300ad.
Really, I would like the map to be a snap shot of history, so certian civs already have large empires like the Han. Like the total war games.
