Role Play Challenge: SuperGenius Darius

Still hilarious for Justinian to vote the guy he was at war against to win!

I guess the whole "average the attitude to vassals" thing that caused him to declare war on you doesn't apply to diplo votes.

Great game mad but one quick comment, I believe it is better to build wealth until slider is at 100% before building research
However since you said you did not build research buildings it may have been the other way around :crazyeye:

Anyway typically if you have more research boosting buildings you build wealth to hike up research and if it is the other way around you build research.

Uhm, the Built "wealth and research" aren't affected by % buildings (well % to hammers only), if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, they are affetced by hammer boosting buildings such as Forges/Factories. Thus my iroworks city produced the highest number of beakers.

Whether to build wealth or beakers is an interesting choice. If I build wealth, then I need alot of research buildings Ilibraries/universities/observatories) to utilize the commerce efficiently. If I build Beakers, I need gold buildings (Markets/grocers/banks) to utilize the commerce efficiently. I went after the gold buildings as I wanted a Apothy (persian UB which is a grocer) in every city because of the future high production (and pollution) from factories.

in fact quite often the master won't vote for the conquered vassal as they usually hate each other!
wasn't expecting to see you win via the votes of a civ you were at war with though, maybe he was scared?

Does anyone understand this??? Justinian declares war on us at Friendly, stays pleased, then votes for us in the AP and not his vassal Mansa????

Nevertheless, far be it for me to refuse a cheap AP diplo win.

Someone else hinted at it, but I'll restate it. The AI factors in the relations with you and all of your vassals when deciding to go to war, but only the relations with you when voting for diplo victory. Obviously Justinian wasn't a big fan of your vassals, but he liked you enough to vote for you even with the "This was spoils our relationship" penalty.
