Ron Paul announces candidacy

I know exactly what I'm talking about, its Republicans like you who have strayed to far away from our parties traditional values if you would support any of those candidates. McCain and Giuliani both are either weak on or support gay marriage, civil unions, and abortion, and they both support Bush's amnesty plan for illegal immigrants. Romney is a complete fraud, he had to change his position on abortion, civil unions, gun control, and illegal immigration, who knows where he really stands? Romney is also a hypocrite considering he hired illegal immigrants to work on his lawn in December.

A. Bush doesnt have an amesty plan for illegals. B. You have no idea WTH you are talking about.

Pay attention. I already said I would probably vote for Romney in the primary. Do you consider him a leftist?

Pro-choice? Yep, it's on video.

Flip flopper? Check, on video too.

Massachusetts politician? Yep

Member of a denomination which Southern Baptists are wary of? Check

NRA member this time last year? Nope

It sounds like John Kerry, but it is actually Mitt Romney

Oh, right, it's not an "amesty plan for illegals", it's a "new temporary worker program that will offer legal status for three years (renewable) as temporary workers to the millions of undocumented men and women now employed in the United States and the temporary workers will be allowed to apply for citizenship in the normal way."

Romney did flip on his abortion stand and on gun control within the last two years. He's also gotten waaay more opposed to illegal immigration over the past couple years, and yes, he did have illegal immigrants working on his lawn.. The charge of flopping around on civil unions is somewhat muddy. Short answer is that Mercenary does know WTH he is talking about, though.

So...in the lefty zero tolerance world, people are not allowed to change their minds? Welcome to the thought police.

Flip flopper? Check, on video too.

Didnt seem to stop Kerry from getting a lot of votes.

Massachusetts politician? Yep

That doesnt automatically make him a Kennedy.

Member of a denomination which Southern Baptists are wary of? Check

Not just Southern Baptists, and it could be the main reason he would have problems winning primaries.

NRA member this time last year? Nope

Again, not a Republican requirement. I am not a member of the NRA either. /shrug.

If you cant tell the difference between Kerry and Romney please dont vote.

Again, all of which does NOT make him some faux republican. sheesh. But thats pretty much the top three pollers at the moment for the republicans. Romney, McCain and Rudy. Voting for the one closest to your ideal to me is smart - taking your toys (votes) and not playing just merely throwing a fit.

If you cant tell the difference between Kerry and Romney please dont vote.
If you can't tell the difference between Romney and a true conservative, please vote for him. He will set back the conservative agenda for decades. I may even for for Romney if it came down to him and Hillary.

Clue to you...winning elections doesnt set your 'agenda' back....it promotes it. No wonder the Dems only have two presidents in office since the 70s.

I don't think history treats kindly the conservative agenda.

Amnesty: the act of an authority (as a government) by which pardon is granted to a large group of individuals. (taken from Merriam-Webster.com)

Granting illegal immigrants guest worker status instead of deportation is amnesty. How many American citizens, outside of Washington are rewarded for breaking the law? If you break the law - do your elected officials sworn to protect your rights call you a "guest crook" and propose special legislation to make you legal? If you break the law - do your elected officials pass special legislation to encourage you to recruit more law breakers and grant them special status also?

OK so I may be "taking my ball and going home" if I don't get what I want in the primary, but thats exactly the kind of message the Republican establishment needs to receive. True conservatives are tired of being taken for granted by the Republican party. I'm not willing to compromise on illegal immigration, gun control, gay marriage, and abortion; you are and people like you are why the Republicans have just lost Congress and the Senate.

Utterly and totally incorrect. Its people like you that dont vote to oppose the Democrats who do embrace illegal immigration, gun control, gay marriage and abortion that allow them to win such elections.

You cut your own nose off to spite your face and then complain about it.:crazyeye:

Bottom line, if you dont oppose the democrats on these issues and vote against them you deserve what you get. Because there are only two sides to these issues......third parties need not apply as they dont matter one whit.

Pretty funny stuff, considering where Rudy G. stands on the issues you mention. Why have a pro-amnesty, anti-gun, pro-gay, pro-abortion Democrat when you can get the same by voting for a guy with an R by his name.

Can you imagine the following Dem frontrunners:

1) Joe Lieberman; 2) a fundamentalist Christian governor of Utah, and; 3) an anti-choice former mayor of Colorado Springs who isn't just against gay marriage, but who actively and publicly dislikes gay people.

I would be voting 3rd party if any of those guys got the Dem nod.

The GOP equivalents are 1) McCain; 2) Romney; and 3) Giuliani

Good luck with all of that.

Keep saying that; the gap between your words and reality is only driving more right-wing nuts out of your party into the hands of the Constiliberwhocares.

Sir, you win this thread. :hatsoff:

Ron Paul?

You would vote for Hillary Clinton over Ron Paul? I doubt it. Especially once the republican hate machine begins to turn it's wheels against her. You'll be on these boards talking about how she drips the essence of evil.

And plus, in Washington State, the D for president totally smashes the R anytime, you can cast your vote for whoever you want, it's not going to make a difference. The D will take the state.

I already do. However, I have a higher chance of a meteor landing on my house tonight than Ron Paul does of being the Republican candidate.

And plus, in Washington State, the D for president totally smashes the R anytime, you can cast your vote for whoever you want, it's not going to make a difference. The D will take the state.

Not always true. Republicans carried the state from 1972 to 1988 in the presidential election. And even in the last two elections dems carried the state by only 5-7%. Certainly not a landslide victory by any means.

So you've basically admitted that there isn't a Republican candidate with a reasonable chance of being nominated that you wouldn't vote for if there was a Democrat running to his or her left.

Yep, we're done here.

Partisanship is a huge problem for both parties, and America in general

death to the party system!
