ROTQM03: Return of the Quantum Monkies

My server appears to be having issues. It's not your office, fox. If it weren't 6:30AM, I'd call them and see what's up.

:worship: Exemplary introduction! :worship:

And not a bad start. Aside from the jungle, plenty of health and happiness resources.

That story just rules! Now I can't wait to see how Rex will narrate the temporal distortion that will happen during his turn!

Good going! I may even be up in this tonight knowing how fox plays. I hope i can find my Vanilla disc . . .

truly sucks about no horses nor copper, if i had to guess, though, i'd say we have another resource in our BFC that has yet to be uncovered...perhaps IW sooner rather than later. Archers can only last so long . . .

Hear, hear. Excellent screenplay work, Rex.

Keep in mind, Robo...distortions will only happen between turnsets, for gameplay reasons. And only one person knows WHEN the temporal events will happen. And that person is me. :king:

I have already generated the entire sequence of jumps that will occur during the game, so there's no temptation for me to 'tweak' the dice rolls. If you want the details of HOW I generated them (without the results, of course), read below.
Spoiler :
To remove any possibility of bias in the timing and results of the events, I've used the HotBits generator (a true RNG - it uses particle decay timing to generate bits) to give me a string of hex digits, which I decoded in pairs as follows:

First digit = Time to next 'event' (measured in turnsets)
0-1 3 sets
2-3 4 sets
4-5 5 sets
6-7 6 sets
8-9 7 sets
A-B 8 sets
C-D 9 sets
E-F 10 sets
This amounts to d8+2, rather than the suggested d6+3...mostly because the decoding is easier this way. :)

Second digit = Time period to jump to
0-1 Ancient
2-3 Classical
4-5 Medieval
6-7 Renaissance
8-9 Industrial
A-B Modern
C-D Future
E-F Re-roll (skip this pair)
Amounts to a straight d7, as advertised.

For example, if I got a sequence starting with 3200D4EC (not the real sequence), the first few jumps would be:

Start: total 0 Ancient
32: 4 sets (total 4) then switch to Classical
00: 3 sets (total 7) then switch to Ancient
D4: 9 sets (total 16) then switch to Medieval
EC: 10 sets (total 26) then switch to Future

That's as random as I know how to make it, my simian brethren. I have recorded the sequence of jumps out to over 70 total turnsets (more than we're likely to need), and I have the rest of the bits I generated in case we need more for some reason. I'll play 'em out as written.

Nice story Rex Chimps :crazyeye:
No pressure GreyChimps :mischief:

So we can even come back to Ancient era
Will be funny to research AH and mining again

I must be getting soft in the head; I failed to appreciate the absence of these resources! :hammer2:

Too complicated ... we monkeys know nuts about particle delay timing. Just thinking about it hurts me head. ...

Me want banana!

Hmm ... there be banana down south, let me go there!

Yes, yes, my precious, let's go for banana.

 ... those animals! They are not letting us to get to the bananas!

Nevermind, we kill them, we kill them! Must get to banana!

Alas, though I killed the wolves, I ended up in the belly of a lion ....

QM-BC2770-lion.jpg

... still no banana ...

Don't worry precious. I reincarnate you as a monkey with bow. But you must kill that lion for this reincarnation to be permanent.

Okay Okay, stop talking in my head. Gives me a headache. Kill the lion. Get some bananas.

Yes, yes, my precious, kill the banana, get the lions.

Huh? STOP! You are making me crazy!!!

Kill the banana, get the lions.

I am not going to listen to you. I am killing that lion and getting the banana!

banana, yes, banana!

Human spotted! Geez ... they are trying to steal our banana!

Kill the human! Protect the banana!

Turns out we have horses :crazyeye:

Bronze working in at my last turn, I did not revolt to slavery ... so next player may consider doing that now. Worker is chopping a forest for the settler I am building. Idea is also to convert it to a farm to aid growth.

As for the settler, here is a map for you to discuss where to put him.

I would think of one, but it's late here and way past my bedtime. So my head is full of bananas ... plus Zophos must confuse me with that particle delay timing thingie ... so I can't think straight now. (Yes, Zophy, I am blaming you as an excuse for my laziness. Just get use to it.).

We don't know anything about that bronze thingy. We went to archery after mining. Our leader misleaded us  writing we have no copper
Oups, bit late :)

Next thing we have to do is make some weapons. We could probably make bronze swords, but we have no copper. How 'bout bows? That works, right? I mean, this *is* 4000BC. Any humans around here are liable to look more like us and carry clubs around, right?

Ok...I can't stand it anymore. From Rex's 3100 BC save (and generally paying attention to what he wrote):

Now...can anyone in the class tell me which tech reveals Copper? Anyone?

EDIT: Rats. Fox/Negy beat me to it. :goodjob:

An entertaining monkey is a monkey nonetheless. I can write, but don't expect me ever to play without my head up my ass.

*ook*ook* *SCREECH* SCREECH*SCREECH* (throws feces at Zophos)

In "normal" games, I am coming to the conclusion that the first 3-4 cities should be heavy commerce sites. In this game ... I don't know. I would go for the slot between the corn and the bananas (also picks up marble) with an alternate site of rice, gems and bananas.

What happens if we build a wonder that then gets obsoleted and then we come back to the ancient time when the wonder should start to work again - does it work or doesn't it?

I know, i can't wait :D i really think this SG is going to be one of the all-time greatest!

hmmm...i made mistake?!?! What in the world?! that never happens ~ what's wrong with me?!?! Sorry, it'll never happen again.

okay, i'll play this tonight, but first off, i found this site during my research: Crazy

edit: @ Ruff ~ i liked that site w/Rice, Gems and 'nanas too, but it won't be doing much without iron working (and i KNOW we haven't gotten that yet). I can't believe there's no sea resources!

haha...i guess there's only a few dedicated monkey sites on the internet ~ not counting the porn ones of course ;)
