RtW: Add-On Pack 3 BETA for 3.17

I like it so far, Dale. 1st thing it noticed though, is that the space in Norway between the north and south cities doesnt belong to any country. Obviously, it should be norwegian. The most sigificant problem with this is that Norway no longer control the offshore oil platforms to the west. I'm on my second turn as the germans now

I cut European city culture to 50 (from 500). Elliminates the culture war in those close cities.

I see the point about Norway. Probably best just to add another city in there.
 
The strength of non-unique infantry needs to be increased from 5 to 10. Its far too easy to conquer countries without unique units, requiring no planning or air support whatsoever, and only a meager force. (gotta love those light tanks, though. DOW and defeat of Poland in the same turn thanks to them)

The culture issue seems to be fixed. Takes about 3 turns after the end of anarchy, but then the borders even out.

EDIT: HA! Dale, trying to be sneaky. I saw you add a very nice amount of oil near Tblisi for the USSR.

Smart move.


EDIT 2: Copenhagen is still being crushed by Swedish and German culture. I don't think there's much you can do about that, though.
 
Serious problem: Amsterdam simply does not have enough culture to deal with france and Germany. Germans can still walk around Maginot line without invading low countries. Amsterdam simply needs a massive culture increase at the beggining of the turn.
 
What's Amsterdam culture versus Essen, Kiel, Paris and London?

Did you change something in the code to make the AI build tons more spies? It seems like every turn my oil well is destoryed, the theatre progress in a captured city is destoryed, and my factories are burned to the ground (one turn before the completion of my next armored division). My factory in stuttgart was literally destroyed the turn I built it. This, combines with the much elongated build times make it very frustrating to try to build an army.

There's actually a hole in the Maginot fortifications near southern Germany, where the borders of france, Italy, and Germany meet. If you put troops on the southwestern most german tile, you can walk southwest one square, and that's where the hole is.

I haven't changed anything there, but it could just be a re-adjustment of the AI since it doesn't get factory hammer bonuses now.

And how is the game without those bonuses from factories?

Hmmm..... what if the production item "culture" is reduced massively, and all culture bonuses from buildings turned off?

Still means you can increase defense (culture) around new cities, but shouldn't have the over whelming affect culture farming does now.

Yes I have, but somehow 1 spy and 3 infantry cant stop enemy spies from blowing up your well every turn. Oh well, i'll add 2 more spies (can build half a tank in the time it takes to make a spy (9 turns) and i've stached 9 workers on the square to rebuild the well instansly so it doesnt affect my production...

It takes a LONG time to build things now, maybe too long. It definately should have not been as fast as it was before, though.

Except taking Poland in 1-2 turns is a bit fast, even before USSR gets involved. ;)

The only reason I was capable of that is because I had already invaded Hungary, giving me quick access to the eastern cities from the south. You wouldn't have been able to do it in historical.

Actually you can ( in the global game). As long as you pick your routes carefully and have reserve troops that can move up after Danzig and Warsaw have been captured it is possible to capture all of the Polish cities. I have managed it on the Europe map too but it requires paratroops and lots of bombers. :)

I'm guessing the reason it's off by default is the occasional CTDs it can cause.

Well this is done, including religions. This means the only culture bonus is from traits (eg: creative) and specialists.

Running a test game now.
