Ruff05 - Team SG

Roster Check:
Ruff_Hi - up
Ozbenno - on deck
Conroe
Jeejeep
Hamtastic - lost Moscow but looks like he weathered the storm

Actually - I will not be able to play until Thur, Benno - can we swap?

Your turnset seems much better than mine was. I had bad combat luck and couldn't take any cities, and I also lost Moscow early. Good Job!

Well there's alot of war going around here.

Getting Moscow back seems the best goal for the moment.

The catapults are actually working well.

Qin and Gandhi are mounting some resistance but Sally and Peter are not.

We lose Bactrian (I think any other cities we take in the short term we raze).

Machinery comes in and we choose Engineering. Qin and Gandhi have no money for upgrades (but at least can build maces), Sally and Peter have no iron or copper for maces.

The tide was turning with India and China but Arabia and Russia are stiull just hanging on. The forces in India may be prepped for a razing run in Aztecia. The forces in China are still mainly holed up around Beijing but may be ready for a similar run in England.

Ozbenno - holding the fort
Conroe - on deck

I will play tomorrow night but I will grab a look at the save today if I can. Anyone got any suggestions? The lack of trade / iron / copper is not helping. I guess we build maces where we can and cats where we cannot build maces - then we go looking for trouble!

What if we send most of Qin's troops west to meet up with Gandhi's and they try to DESTROY Montezuma? :hammer: :spear: Obviously leave enough troops for Qin so that he doesn't have any problems defending himself (I think the main reason Peter was in so much trouble is that we kept sending all the troops over to help Saladin).

Still, the combined strength could be enough to do so some really serious damage, and I don't have much hope for any of our individual civs being able to beat down their paired enemy on their own. Additionally, I'd suggest Monty over lizzy b/c Monty has stupid free promotions for his units, which does kind of hurt. Lizzy could be better in long term though, because of financial and the ridiculously overpowered UU that awaits us in the distant future (if we get that far) :crazyeye: :suicide:

Lizzy has hardly mustered any force so far, so I think Monty would be a much better idea. Lizzy seems to be the only one not sending hordes of War Elephants at us.

Hmm - I would have to summarize our condition as grave, maybe even desperate.

Here is the situation ...

Qin - lost access to Iron, under seige from Liz and Bella units (lots of them)
Gandhi - The marginal Indian city on the plains was sacked - we lost about 7 good units trying to defend it. We have 3 maces, 1 axe and 1 cat (sort of) ready to go pay Monty a visit. I don't think it is worth it as monty has about 10 units (phants, swords, etc) just to the north to act as defense
Sally - holds his cities, no losses, but no gains either (workers trying to connect trade route (1 road where they currently stand should do it)
Peter - down to 1 warrior, 1 injured spear but luckily Bella withdrew here injured phant

jeejeep - conroe is past his 24 so grab it if you want.

I don't think he realized he was up, as just looking at the roster it seems like Ozbenno should be up. Since I can't play today anyway, i'll give him until tomorrow.

Ozbenno and I swapped

Oops! Sorry for delaying the game. As JeeJeep stated, I did not realize that I was up. And unfortunately, I probably will not be able to play until Tuesday or Wednesday. Things have been rather hectic lately. So, it would probably be better to skip me anyway.

suggestions ... have fun ... and good luck @ beijing.

Game over pretty much immediatly. We lost Mecca and Beijing. Gandhi is making a brave last stand, but is being overrun by war elephants. Qin's other cities are soon to fall, as Victoria has assembled some large elephant stacks. Peter's also. Sally may be the last to die, as there are few units pressuring him.

Here is the save, if someone wants to finish up. I vote we start again with knowledge of what to expect. Maybe down a level, or on a different map?

oh dear - anyone got any views on what went wrong? Chasing CS sling shot ... not enough troops ... no team work between Civs ... trade network ... too exposed ... other?
