Me got it......
No time to get hands full in game
@Ruff: sorry for the tiny cities ...
The real problem is our lack of workers... it's nice and all to have big cities but working forest grasslands does no good at all... I am the kind of guy with 10 workers at 4/5 cities...
About war: you took the first occasion to attack america ...
It will be really hard, axes + cats against LBs and Xbows... I don't like the smell of it so we would need to be really brave
I am for a philo bulb right now (will look at the save back at home to better see the situation, how many good trades are out there)...
that would be France, as it is now called
I don't think so, Boudica lived in Britain... My earlier comment was about the fact that the celt capital (at least for Firaxis) Bibracte is in France
Well ... attack is a bit much. I just bombed down their defenses. But I totally agree, our forces don't match up will against Chicago at present. We can either attach with our cats (and get very lucky) or wait for Boudica to kill some of her units against Chicago and then we take it - 2 or 3 turns until she has units in place. Meanwhile, we tech Machinery and start putting out some maces.
Our trade options are slim as our friends are backwards and our enemies are advanced. I would lean towards Academy to speed up our current tech rate.
Unrelated to this game, that always seems to be my fate. I was wondering recently if that's just the breaks or if there is some game mechanic that makes up for that. I know that there is the upper/lower half of the scoreboard diplo modifier, but are there other things that account for this being the case? I guess the people I trade most with (leaving no trades) tend to be my friends, but I never feel that I deplete them of available techs--more that my enemies tend to be more advanced and have techs to trade, but won't.
Yes, I know. It was supposed to be a joke
Ruff, can I get more 24 h to play? I simply can't play a SG today ......
Gee - letting the American's get even more in front of us ... I guess so.
Isn't -11 furious? And isn't -3 for declaring war on a friend a little stiff? I think the Nappy AI only dinks you -1 for that.
Boy I can't wait to see how this ends. It's too bad the turnset won't be coming today.
On another note, I read at Wikipedia that Bibracte was Vercingetorix's place, and its ruins are in Burgundy. That snake who tried to kill Caesar! (On a side note, where's Caesar?)
I will be lurking, but expect me to lurk more often than most lurkers.
And the AI tradition of cities one tile off the coast is just classic.
Finally, shouldn't you have a small (maybe +1 or +2) modifier for peace with all the AI civs (except stupid America of course; what a nice way to celebrate the real America's new president!).
Woah at the triple post!
lurker's comment: Looks like our favourite lurker is back! And with a bang! Accidental spam on top of the usual!
Why? They are not french (-1 instant diplo modifier)
Btw Ruff, rereading the report, I see you ended the gem <-> incense deal for a gem <-> fish deal... I don't get it... we have fish and no incense. Plus we have multiple sources of gems. (even if not, it would be good for diplo)... Just wondering waiting for Rolo's round
Well that is - incense deal was with zorro, fish deal is with our gal, Boudica (IIRC). Feel free to cancel fish deal and put in place a more appropriate deal.
That said, giving a girl gems and getting fish back seems appropriate
Hilarious. It's the RRRaskolnikov and ruff_hi show!!
What do you think you will find there we just love them
Well, This was boring......
First of all, why are we in war with a civ that has a HUGE tech advantage on us?
Second, why our stack is ridiculously small ?
Well, best thing I could do is to wait for reinforcements ( our or from boudi ) and tech further......
First , academy with the GS
BTW, anyone knows how to tell the AI that it is our worst enemy ?
Unexpectedly Boudi takes a city far away:
And some more help is on the way:
The yankie still sinks prod in wonders:
Some teching up:
And after some extra cats ( boudi stack circled Chicago but didn't tried to attack it ), we took the long besieged american city:
Roosevelt is willing to tak peace:
BTW, add this one to the piling diplo - that we have with the English :
Sorry if the play wasn't that good, but I'm having some personal issues and I'm not in my best possible mood ( and it's friday ..... )
I hope things will sort out ...
Excellent news from the front
