Hahah, that is pretty funny. Rating Galloway who actually hasn't done anything wrong but stand up to neocon hawks in Washington alongside people like Hussein and Castro is, frankly, pretty odd. He hasn't been convicted or proved to do anything wrong.

Apparently one only has to be anti-republican to be executed.

Kudos to the rest of the list though, good luck with that. With the farce that Iraq has been you're gonna need it.

1. ^ dont troll.
2. I actually agree with our European patriot here.
The carried out the sentance as if they are going to be chased out very soon: too fast, too secret. The trial was a joke and yet it was not even completed. Not that I am sorry for the bastard may he rest in pieces.

Executing someone is like saying : "Not better !" (our French crowd will get the link right if I translate this to "Pas mieux !") Death penalty is the acknowledgement of not finding a better solution than the one found by the criminal.

And once again, the Kurds are stolen, but no one cares, they're not a real nation anyway. BTW, it is said that the US had links in other trials (and maybe France, for those who want to bash France, I'm all for bashing my puny politican class) ; with Saddam dead, no one will talk about it anymore. Congrats Bush, you did it. :goodjob:

Another martyr created, bravo  They couldn't have chosen worse date.

Hey you didn't expect them to show any more brains this time than they did up until now did you?

Having just watched the clip of him refusing the hood as they put the noose around his neck (he apparently said he wanted to look his executioners in the eye) I've got to say that while he really was an evil ******* he certainly had guts at the end there which is exactly the reason they shouldn't have hanged him, now he's a symbol and it's not like you can hang that

Saddam meets justice at last: Good. Now that we've meted out human justice, he get's to go explain his actions to God - I have a sneaking suspicion that Saddam's in for quite an eternity in hell. Perhaps it's not very Christian of me to not find that terribly sad, but somehow I'm not at all sad that Saddam is most likely going to hell.

Isn't that unjust? If he was punished righteously on Earth, there shouldn't be a punishment for the same crime in heaven. Double punishment is wrong. And an eternity is far too long for ANY crime, no matter how big it may be.

But I digress.

I have supported and still support the death penalty for Saddam, but I take no joy in his death. The act of taking life is not a noble one (nor is it ignoble, when justly done), even though it may be necessary.

Or maybe there are a lot of people that are against the death penalty on this board...?

Just check the British, Italian and French reponses to the execution and they sum up my opinion pretty nicely.

Amazing... there are a lot of Saddam supporters in this board.

Saddam supporters? I think most of them just thought it would be a much better idea to have locked him up in a cell until he died of old age... if someone did that to you would you consider them your friend?

Thatcher? Are you kidding? My inside sources say that lady, one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century, has a special spread waiting for her beyond the pearly gates.

Pearly? The gates she'll pass through, I assure you, will be of the same color and toughness as her hairdo.

list o' bad guys

That's a nice troll. Putting fairly elected leaders on the same list as Kim Jong Il just because you don't like them - that's classy.

And, you forgot these dictatorships, absolute monarchies and one-party states:

Kuwait (al-Sabah)
UAE (al Nayhan)
Saudi Arabia (al Saud)
Oman (as Said)
Syria (Assad)
Turkmenistan (Niyazov)
Myanmar (junta)
Pakistan (junta, Musharraf)
Uzbekistan (Karimov)

Oh wait. Most of the above are AMERICAN ALLIES.

You get points for putting Putin on the list, but there's no way in hell you can be taken seriously if you don't want Karimov et al. swinging from a rope.

Well, not literally, but being around Mormons can certainly make you feel that way after a while...

Yes, that's a south park reference.

Saddam Hussein Hanged

Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was executed Saturday morning for crimes against his people. Iraqi officials present at the hanging say Saddam went to his death a broken man, but showed no remorse for his actions.

Thoughts now its all over.

How are the Iraq people reacting?

I know at least a few people in the Empire (like his excellency owner of space Palpatine) that needs to be at the head of the list. Putin has done some stuff, but he was done more good stuff than the drunk thief Yeltsin who should take place N2 after Palpatine. So first thing is first okay?
