SC02 - The Goodbye Kiss

I have it, but I won't get it played until Saturday. In the meantime, I'm open for ideas.

Good that you got it. I looked at the save last night and you have the same feeliing, kinda like the dog who finally caught the schoolbus "Now what do I do?"

Lizzie's kindly feelings should survive the "you declared war on a friend" if you want to take on Saladin, though, so if are feeling brave that remains an option.

Hattie is probably building SS parts at a great rate though, so any foreign adventure would have to involve her. And of course Saladin probabl has artillery....

Pre-flight – 1920 - The lovely Hatty  has only eight SS parts left to manufacture. Yes, we’re in trouble boys and girls. We have a few units to move. Since we may be at war with Sal some day, I send our missionary off to one of his cities. We have do not have the ability to trade anything.

IBT – Hatty starts a rock ‘n’ roll band. I ask if she needs a guitarist and she tells me she already has one. :(

1921 – Sal has a civic that prohibits non-state religions, what’s that Theocracy or something. Move our missionary somewhere else.

IBT - Sal completes a SS part.

1922 – Nada.

IBT – Sal completes three more SS parts.

1923 – Convert to Buddhism and change to Bureaucracy for the extra cash.

IBT – Sal builds his fifth casing.

1924

1925 – We can’t even spread Buddhism in our own cities.

IBT – SciMeth=>Education (the path to Communism) And we enter the industrial age. Julie and Lizzy start building SS casings.

1926 – Drop science in order to use the Charis trick. It doesn’t work. Back to 50%

IBT – Lizzy and Julie keep building their spaceship. Lizzy now has Mech Inf in two cities. Watch Julie’s helos and airplanes fly around. Hatty is now a Hollywood starlet. She signs an autograph for me.

1927 –

IBT – Machu Pichu revolts but doesn’t flip. I don’t understand this game concept. I stuff some military in there to subdue the crowds. Hatty builds the UN.

1928 –

IBT – Sal completes his SS thrusters.

1929 – Spread Buddhism in an Egyptian city for an extra 1gpt.

IBT – A few more SS parts were built by somebody.

1930 – Nada.

We really don’t have the economy or research ability to get caught up. But keep trying.

If at first you dpn't fricasee, fry, fry a hen.

Got it. Hack at it after the sun comes up

Turn 340 (1930 AD)
Spend some money on a map from the Houri And now know where everybody is. Louis and Caesar on on islands by themselves. We share the big continent with Hatty, Saladin and Lizzie. Whay is odd is that I can't find Paris.

Macchu is just off the Inca capitol so I put some garrisons in there to quell the Inca rebellion and prevent future ones, then irrigate the workshop so the town will grow a little faster.

Turn 340 (1930 AD)
Looks like Hatty has built the UN and Sladin has taken over the lead in SS parts construction

The revolt in Machu Picchu ends.

Turn 341 (1931 AD)
There is a vote due soon and Hatty just canceled the Defensive Pact

1940.jpg

Working our way towards spies, but with two contestants in the race it is going to be tough to train enough to sabotage all the remaining parts. I have not done the math but even if we do getting the technology to remove Saladin from the UN race and get us a seat at the table may not be possible, he's got gunships and infantry though nothing mechnaized that I could see, unlike Liz.

I would not be averse to throwing the UN vote to Hattie and then starting a new game.

Well if we can't win, it ought to be Hatty. She's been really nice to us. Maybe she'd even let me play in her rock band.

So it appears I get to play again. Some times I don't understand the end game.

1951 – The vote comes up again and I cast ours for lovely and talented Hatty. She smiles and bats her eyes and my heart melts.

1952 – The results show up:

We we weren’t enough. Julie and Sal build cockpits for their spaceships.

1964 – Resolution passes over Sal and Louis’ objections. We get an artist. I have him drop a culture bomb on Machu Picchu, with no effect on the boarders.

1965 – We get this message:

We have shown the leadership qualities of…

Well, that was interesting. I will need to skip the next game. I'll probably be away from CIV until June. I'll be lurking a lot.

Thanks for finishing this one Sir B.

Too bad we couldn't grow out our population in time to get Hatty in the chair.

A game with your name on it will start in June

Thanks Bede. This wrapped up just in time. The CD project is getting pretty intense, but very exciting. Just got out of a four-hour rehearsal. I'll be lurking all over.

congratulations on finishing!

I wish... well, I don't wish I could've kept on playing (there's more important stuff)

But I'm happy to know that the game is over.

Good Job!
