Screenshot analysis!

one would assume Pantanal would also be more than one tile.

Pantanal has been listed on the features thread for while but AriochIV hasn't documented it yet. What was the source of it being in the game--one of the E3 previews?

Earlier than that. Someone who played for 60 turns saw it. Cant recall where it was mentioned.

I got the information from Marbozir, who stated he saw a multiple tile Marshlands NW (that he was pretty sure was Pantanal > Kakadu).

"Everest" is a problematic choice because of the name, which does not originate and is not naturally pronounceable in the languages of those who have regarded it as holy (and ironically was not even pronounced the modern way when it was the last name of the surveyor it was named after). Of course, the same could be said for Old Faithful.

Unless the player is being asked to role-play calling their own civ's holy mountain the name of imperialists and tourists 3000 years in the future, it should appear under "Qomolangma" or another local name.

True, but what I was wondering specifically was if the Buddhists, Hindus, or whoever else considers Everest sacred objected to its inclusion.

Seems doubtful. Mount Kailash got in, and both the Buddhists and the Hindus consider that so sacred that pilgrims just walk around it because setting foot on the mountain itself is considered a sin. If they didn't raise any objections to its being depicted in the game, I don't see that they'd have any complaints about the much more well-known and frequently-climbed Everest. (Though it should be noted that I am neither Buddhist nor Hindu, so it's not like I actually know what they'd consider objectionable. I also don't know that no one ever complained about Kailash. I never heard anything about it, but that doesn't mean Firaxis hasn't.)

People talking about Everest, but why not mount fuji like civ V? In a japan related video would seem related. Also what is the big yellow statue in the water at 1:20? any ideas?

I will continue to call it Everest until Tibet or Nepal or whatever makes a formal request to the world to call it by it's proper name.

I am at work now, so I can't watch it yet, but are there any interesting screenshots in the new first look movie to analyse? :p

They do as well for me.

Eagle, did you download and publish them yourself? (FYI, I shared these screenshots to Eagle)

No, I don't know how to do that. I pasted in the web addresses of the pictures.

I'm not particularly web-literate, so I don't know how to fix them.
