Extremely disappointed (and surprised) if they go with Pedro/Brazil again.

Because America isn't already one too many post-colonial civs. I was so looking forward to not having to be troubled by Brazil anymore...

That is a picture of Isabella of Portugal

who was, not confusingly at all, also a ruler of Spain.
Interesting. Would that mean this is Portugal, and Spain is #21 (first civ 5th row), which looks like a male leader?

Also, could #16 be (Holy) Roman Empire?

But as I mentioned elsewhere, someone at Friaxis likely did what you did, typed in "Isabella Spain" and found that picture. Meaning to use Isabella I not the (historically speaking) do-nothing Isabella of Portugal.

Whoops my bad, but yeah true

Isabella of Portugal was only born in Portugal she was only a Spanish ruler. The granddaughter of Isabella I. So there is nothing to suggest Portugal made the initial cut.

Again that image comes up pretty high if you google Isabella Spain, so it likely an error.

Still, if #20 is Spain, and #22 is Sumer, then we're not left with an awful lot of options for #21. #21 is definitely male and wearing a metallic armor, so one would assume a European civ. So in that light, #21 for Spain is not far reaching (Karlos V?).

It says "Ancient Western Building". I had to read through the rest of this thread to make sure nobody noticed this, because it just seemed that obvious :p

Well if the portraits are alphabetical by civ, then looks like Shaka isn't in the Vanilla release unless that last picture is him.

Looks like Kongo is the only sub-Saharan African civ.

It should. The D5-E1 section is confusing. E1 really looks like Philip II, but I don't understand why both Isabella and Philip would be there.

We were told there would be 18 civs at the start right? Possibly multiple leaders dlc?

Another thing to consider for the "multiple leaders for one civ" camp - don't you find it odd that if it were true that Spain got two leaders, it's the only one that did so?

I'd find it far more likely if there was at least one more DLC candidate that could act as a second leader to an existing civ. Not that I think civs are getting multiple leaders to begin with.

4 DLC comes with the Deluxe Edition. Accounts for the 22 total.

...why it is said again and again that there will be four civs in release dlc? I don't recall this info being mentioned anywhere, just that deluxe edition offers 'new civs'. 2 seems to be much more sensible option.

Personally I'd be very surprised if initial civ6 had Poland, Brazil and Sumer but no Persia, Ottomans, Mongolia or SEA civ so I still hope some of leaders and civs from here will appear later.
