I don't know if capturing an image from a movie would violate copyright.

There's a scene in Daredevil where he's looking at Electra in the rain using his special vision (so it's a totally digital scene). Once I think on a terrace and once at the funeral.

I really liked that shot, and would love to have it for a background on my computer.

Is asking for it (over the internet) a violation of Copyright? And, if not ... hint, hint.

I don't think it should be

I doubt it.

If you look around the internet, you'll see screenshots of movies all over the place. I don't think they e-mailed Ben Afleck or Universal Studios for permission.

Unless you're selling prints or claiming that you made it, I think you should be fine.

If making screenshots from games was illegal, then why would they include the functionality in the first place? I guess it is the same for movies.

 dont have the movie or even remember the scene your talking about otherwise id give it a go.

Not unless you take 26 screenshots a second, put them all behind eachother and watch it as a fast slideshow with the sound of the movie as background music.

:D :D :D :D :D Good one

So, how do you convince someone to capture that sceen and post it? I really liked that picture and need it as a desktop.

You can use it under a clause called "fair use." If you make screenshots of more than 5% of the total movie, then you can be sued.

Windows Media Player has the option of "burning copyright CD." And that's illegal.

No it isn't. Not unless you give the new CD to someone who hasn't bought the CD or sell it yourself.

Copyright is bogus. As long as someone paid for it, shouldn't they be free to share it with whomever they want?

P.S. Did I use whomever correctly there? Just curious.

Anyone who look at me will violate copy right. Human brain is clearly a device of storage that records image. I have reason to suspect that people are storaging my imagine inside their head. I was selling my imagine for 1 million dollars per copy. Anyone who remember me should pay me 1 million dollars as a compensation for my lost in my business.
