Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad, specifically the single player German campaign (which is punctuated by tutorial levels teaching you squad commands, tanking, and last but not least Commander, so I highly recommend playing it first before hitting up the multiplayer, plus then you'll have some idea what the maps are like).

This was far more horrifying than it looks because you cannot hear the screams of suffering and the Russian guy crying for his mother as their life bleeds out.

Maniacal: Rock of Ages has awesome looks, too bad it's a tower defense game. I like the quirkiness of the "rock" character, especially after seeing those ads where it was crushing retro games, hehe. And I like the RO2 "inside the tank" images (this time and last time with the chopped leg...). What do you do in the tank? You just sit there and wait to die?

Maniacal: Rock of Ages has awesome looks, too bad it's a tower defense game. I like the quirkiness of the "rock" character, especially after seeing those ads where it was crushing retro games, hehe.

It isn't really much of a tower defense game. The AI always seems to have more/better defenses (but only by a little bit) than you do and your own defenses don't do much to stop the AI. See Polycrates' review in your other thread. It is a fun game but instead of having the AI and player turns at the same time it would have been nice to have them separate so you could actually focus on the TD part, I dunno.

And I like the RO2 "inside the tank" images (this time and last time with the chopped leg...). What do you do in the tank? You just sit there and wait to die?

If you're the MG dude, pretty much! Since he doesn't get to shoot anything if it is a tank only map. You can command the entire tank from the commander's position using way markers, command wheel or WASD and get the AI to drive (not sure if you have less direct control in multiplayer or not as I haven't really played tanks in multi yet), or you can just drive around, man the MG or be in the gunnery position (which in the T34 is the commander's position too). The great thing about this is that you're never going to be missing crew members in the tank (unless they get killed, then you have to crawl around in the tank if you want to change seats) and if you're sick of having idiot teammates or one of those buttholes who got angry in RO1 when someone else hopped into THEIR tank, in multiplayer you can select not allowing anyone else in your tank. So everyone pretty much ends up with their own tank (which means if you were to have people in every position you'd have less tanks than the enemy afaik).

tl;dr you can command any of the usual positions in the tank and it is a lot of fun to blow up other tanks, although they need more tank maps (I think there is only one tank only map right now and it isn't that amazing).

Accidentally ended up in a battle and I was bored of trading so I did it anyway. Such an easy place to defend but eventually my troops all wore out, the enemy had a huge advantage in numbers alone. And also for some reason they didn't retreat after losing like half their army.
