So, since the CK2 2.0 patch is almost upon us, I figured I would end one of my games. It started from a free-for-all mod, where every single county begins the game as independent, in the year 700. 500 years later (give or take two accidental months), I present this world.

So, my cut-off date left a few civil wars running, so I bordered the normal borders of the various states in red. In the northeast, we have the Suomensko Kingdom of Perm. To its south is the Orthodox Empire of Tartaria. On the Baltic, we have the (reformed!) Romuva Kingdom of Lithuania. In western Germany, we have, well, Germany, but Waldensian, and Croatia is also Waldensian. And in Ireland and Wales we have the Kingdom of Ireland.

A run-down of major events in this next spoiler-
Spoiler :
France used to be part of England, until Gavelkind split it up. So, France actually has Anglo-Saxon culture.

Once, Germany stretched from Denmark to Burgundy in the southwest and Croatia in the southeast. However, Gavelkind split that up as well, but, only after the king converted to Waldensian. For the next few generations, it managed to pull itself back together after every king, but then Sweden invaded northern Germany and the kingdoms went their separate ways. Bavaria, Germany, and Croatia are still Waldensian.

The Kingdom of Lithuania reformed Romuva long time ago and took over everything from Pomerania to Rus. However, they broke up into Lithuania and Rus, and now, Rus is undoubtedly the strongest Romuva defender.

The Tartar Empire was once Tengri. However, at some point, one of the Khagans got everyone to become Orthodox and created the Empire of Carpathia as well. As usual, Gavelkind split that up, so now we have Cuman Orthodox Carpathia and Tartaria.

Sunni is dead. The Mukhtarids are the Shi'a Caliphate, while Abysinnia and the Silvesids are Ibadi, and Mali is Yazidi.

Greece started in Bulgaria, then once had control from Serbia to Anatolia, and even Sicily, but then the Caliphate broke them down and, of course, Gavelkind split them up. Tartaria invaded Anatolia and Georgia, and so Georgia is actually Cuman. And for some reason, Greece continuously fights for Azerbaijan.

Ireland and Wales are both completely Scottish-cultured. Some Scottish count in Wales first formed one of the Welsh duchies, then they made the Kingdom of Ireland, then the Kingdom of Wales, and then became Scotland. As you can guess, Gavelkind split it all up.

And finally, what it all looks like after converting to EU4:
Spoiler :

(Fun fact: For some reason, Leon, of all countries has German ideas. I have no clue why; they're Castillian culture and Germany and Spain have never touched each other.

Well, I've been playing Soul Calibur V online quite a bit lately, and I just recently figured out how to take in-game screen shots & save gameplay videos to upload to Youtube.

That being said, one of my favorite features of Soul Calibur III and beyond is the ability to create custom characters, so here's a few that I'd like to share:

Spoiler :

SCV OS-Tan by Hikaro Takayama, on Flickr

First pic is characters based on the OS-Tan meme/phenomenon. Basically OS-Tans are moe anthropomorphisms of various Operating systems. In the pic above, Left to Right, are: ME-Tan (Windows ME), 2K-Tan (Windows 2K) and XP-Tan (Windows XP). I think that they turned out fairly well.

The next pic has some random characters I made. L-R: Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series, The Phantom from The Phantom of the Opera (movie version), and Seong Mina, from every OTHER game in the Soul series EXCEPT this one. Seong Mina has always been one of my favorite characters in the series since I first played Soul Edge in the local arcade back in 1996, and I was kind of ticked off that they dropped her from Soul Calibur V. Thankfully, they included enough creation options (including some DLC customization parts) to allow me to re-create her with Xiba's style (which, incidentally is basically a hybrid of Seong Mina and Kilik's Soul Calibur IV move set).

Spoiler :

Final pic is based on youtube personalities and memes. L-R: Tobuscus from his "I Can Swing My Sword" video, a Warhammer 40K SPESS MEHREEN, and Me. Fun fact: I actually own a jacket almost identical to the one in-game me is wearing, as well as very similar cap and goggles...

Hope you guys like them. You can also find me on the Global Colloseo in the North America/New York region if you want a friendly go at me. ;)

Ooh, nice. Character customization is always fun. I think I still have Soul Calibur IV sitting around, I should see what evil things I can come up with. :p

Yeah, I have IV as well... Some of the ones I came up with in IV included Squall Leonhart, Mt. T, Harley Quinn, Batman and a few others...

Some more Soul Calibur V customs. This time, one character, 3 alternate outfits (of 15 total). I present to you, Laura, my female alter-ego and main custom that I use:

L-R: Princess outfit (and my player card for SCV online play), Warhammer 40K Sister of Battle outfit and Elegant Gothic Lolita outfit.

Started a Tropico 4 game to see if I would want the Modern Times expansion. Earlier I have found the new tropico games to turn in to just building and expanding as fast as you can, so this game is set to no immigration and expand by just pure natural growth. Though the start is extremely slow I found that later transitioning into a full college based economy was quite challenging, and after that keepeng up with the population groth was even pretty difficult at times. It is now past the year 2200 and the Tropican population has risen to a grand total of 1100.

I have been developing many separate settlements rather than building one big city. Initially I was going for a communist style utopia with free equal housing, relatively low wages but extremely cheap services, but later decided to go for a more socialist style of very high and equal wages and more varied housing, but slightly higher prices and rents.(communist/socialist used extremely loosely here of course)

BTW do any of you know if you can continue old saves on the Modern times dlc? Are the dlc worth getting? All the dlc is 66% off untill jan 2. but not sure if it might go lower still. Will probably end up getting Modern times at least

The small hometown of El-Presidente, supporting the local port village and the surrounding farmlands. Home to the islands college and also production center of spiced rum from the areas sugar plantations.

Deeper in the valley is an exclusive resort town and the rest of the valley is densely built up with pineapple and sugar plantations, being the only area of the island with significant humidity

Further inland is a larger city paralelled only by the capital in size. Based on a sustainable logging and furniture industry, as well as center for certain public services, this is probably the poorest area of Tropico.

Next, probably the biggest party town in tropico, built around the colonial fort up on the hill and the cathedral in the gorge. By virtue of being the tallest place on the island the fort hill is ideal for wind power, and so this town has a lot of high-end attractions.

Another small tourist town around a colonial fort, doesn't do much other than look good.

Capital city! Nearly all the agricultural and fishing proceeds are processed in the canneries here, and also home to the new cigar factory and center for the islands education and media.

Those settlements are very aesthetically pleasing.

As far as I know, you can't apply the DLC to old saves. As far as them being worth getting, I would say so at 66% off, especially Modern Times. If you get no other DLC, get Modern Times.

Home to the islands college and also production center of spiced rum from the areas sugar plantations.

One of the early DLC actually has a plantation building, and it is as useful as you would imagine. Can only grow cash crops, but it can employ more people than regular farms and grow more of the cash crops.

I agree with this. All my big cities end up looking like this:

Although I did like the way the skyline turned out, pleasing in its own little way.

And I would say Modern Times is worth it if you like the missions. I found them very funny and entertaining, though they're just as easy as the regular game.

Thanks, I ended up buying Modern times as well as the plantation dlc. The rest seem a bit.. silly. Knowing my timing they will probably go on flash sale for -80% or something. Still probably worth it's 6 euros anyways.

All my big cities end up looking like this:

I think thats the biggest difference with playing without immigration, in your game, the year is 1999, in mine its 2207 or something, and my population is quite a lot smaller, when you commit to the slower paced game of nurturing your population up naturally you have a lot of time to plan your new developments carefully and go over board on gardens, fountains and palm trees to add that extra character while you wait for your workforce to FINALLY grow big enough to fill all the jobs you created. To me it gives a nice slow paced game good for watching films and stuff in the background.
