Got a pretty decent screenshot from a boss fight in Dark Souls

Yeah, still working on my Dark Souls game. I'm getting there I think... Painted World, then onto fight Ornstein and Smough! It really is an amazing game somehow. Although you really need a controller and maybe that PC fanmade patch that fixes the graphics a bit. It really reminds me of Castlevania Symphony of the Night, which might explain why I like it. And the setting is very good. Finally some fantasy that isn't just boring high-fantasy with supermagic everywhere. It is kind of hard... But not really at the same time. You just need to take your time and learn. I'm the kind of guy who absolutely hates checkpoints and redoing the same stuff over and over again. Yet in Dark Souls, it doesn't feel like these things are a problem, you always seem to be discovering or learning something no matter what you are doing. Everything is satisfying, not a chore.

Civ'ed told me to make Nelson Mandela. Then he reminded me that fedoras exist in the game. I added pink armor, and suddenly we have a pimp.

What game is that from?

See, these are the reasons I did not care for Dark Souls. I was so sick of doing the same thing ad nauseam. It felt like a chore.

Yea, dying and loosing all experience(souls) accumulated 10 times in the same portion of the game gets old fast. And backtracking to spend the souls you gathered would make all enemies respawn. So at some point it just felt like a game of memorization.
The game does have a lot of great parts tho. But i have to admit, the areas i loved to explore the most, were areas about which i read before entering. So as to know if there are any cheapshots the game throws at you just to kill you. Knowing those cheapshots and how to avoid them made me focus on the part i loved the most about the game - slowly, methodically, cautiously exploring new areas.

How did you deploy that thing on the surface? Are those yellowish canisters fuel tanks and you have some rocket engines hidden from view?

Some sections are harder, some you go through faster. Believe, I'm usually the first person to say they don't want to redo something, but it never went to the ad nauseum level for me. I think it's because I rarely die when I don't expect it, and there are enough bonfires and shortcuts to alleviate a lot of the repetition.

You have to sort of not value souls so much. In the end, your level and all these souls aren't really key to your success. I mean, you do have to level up to some extent, but yeah... At the beginning of the game I would fret about losing souls. Now I don't really mind. Plus there are a few places where you can easily gain levels in not that long if you find yourself under-leveled.

It's annoying, because most of the enemies I'll face are trivial and no threat and all... but then all of a sudden I run into a ridiculously overpowered enemy who quickly kills me, and I have to start the whole thing over again. Infuriating.

Yep, the gold-foil cylinders are all fuelled, with engine clusters in the center five stacks.

Anyways, we need more screenshots. Here's something you don't see everyday:
