80m rise:

The term "British Isles" would get a whole new meaning

I'd just like to say that Perfifty is the funniest amalgamate alive, I think I just laughed so hard I pooped a little.

Is this your homework? ;):)

Sea levels rise when temperatures increase, water expands up to a point with temperature. Melting Ice actually makes only a minor difference compared to temperature. Which is why these predictions of dramatic sea rises are so idiotic. Of course, if the GMT goes up sea levels rise. Suffice to say most people know nothing about waters amazing properties and most news paper articles or inconvenient truths are aimed at the common or garden pleb on the street, of which I would be one without a science qualification. Hmm that was quite random.

Pssst... This wasn't really about sea levels. Shh, keep it to yourself, though!

I'd like to see this same image on the states. Apalachians, rockys and a big sea in the middle

Finally we'd get to annex Scotland! :p

But seriously, that's quite a scary image. I'm in York and it floods regularly. I think an 80m rise would put this house a long way below the water surface.

Edit: Checked this page: http://www.globalwarmingart.com/sealevel

70m+ rise and my home (not York) would be on the sea front. Infact, the other half of the town would be underwater.

What are those islands? Bermuda? The Azores?

It's in the right place for Bermuda, but the highest point is ~76 meters above sea level, so they shouldn't be there, while the Azores are far further east.

Hell if I know, I just dug around in the place the other one came from.

I think you missed the point of this thread...

Maybe I did, I just reacted to other posts about how much would the sea level rise if all ice melted. And this image is really cool, too bad that the maker of this texture didn't finish it.

I'd like to see this same image on the states. Apalachians, rockys and a big sea in the middle

Well, here it is:

South is screwed

But its nothing compared to China. At least the US problem with Iraq will be washed away

bye-bye Holland:high5:

oh wait, Belgium will be washed away too :scared:

You know, the thing is that all those Dutch, Danes and Germans will have to find a safer home. See the safe nice spot in Central Europe? That's the Czech Rep. - future population: 30 million
