September Patch Notes Discussion

Well, that's a nice change of tune. No more double faith cost obsession, as promised :)

Understanding that I'm playing a Phoenicia game and I'm just spamming the ports, but Veterancy . . . man what a nice subtle change that just changes everything.

Yeah seriously, that might actually be the biggest coastal buff, at least for full coastal empires. I had it slotted in the majority of my game. Bought out the 100% to X district vote in the World Congress to be harbors as well, and was just knocking out lighthouses and shipyards.

Been playing a few Standard Speed games since the patch.
I am amazed by how much better a gaming experience can be with just a few tweeks and bug fixes.
Much more dead heat in my last two games on higher difficulty.
Hoping people have as much fun as I do. :)

Seems like favor selling is greatly nerfed

AI is only buying them for 5:1 or sometimes worse.

The patch notes say you get housing from the lighthouse if the harbor is adjacent to the city center, but ingame it says you get housing if the city is adjacent to coast. I been doing an effort to build the city center near the harbor thinking I was getting housing out of it when in fact that doesn't seem to be necessary, you just need to settle direct on the coast.

Can anyone confirm this or is it a bug on my computer?
It seems the gossip messages, that appear top right, have been given that click sound, when they disappear. I run modless atm, so it must be in the base game.

I’m noticing that the AI is now less likely to join aid requests but still spends a lot when it does.

For example 6/10 possible civs joined a military aid request for Philip and the results were:

Hojo 5471
Chandy 5007
Cleo 4552
Cree 1664
Me 0
Brazil -5600

In another ongoing aid request, only Eleanor and I have signed up

I have no mods, but I have that sound. Seems to happen about once during the AI turn though, so I thought it probably means something.

Has anyone else noticed the AI being immune to natural disasters without the proper governor? In my current game, a Scythian city got nailed by a volcano that Magnus was governing and didn't take any damage.

Are you running whichever mod it is that adds the city state of Ker Ys?
