SGOTM 19 - Also Sprach Sid

Your Settler is a turn too late (I am keen to have the option to settle this as soon as a road network is in place) and the National Epic is delayed to T77. I think the Forest 1N3W must have been a RNG growth, as it isn't there in the save or the real game. There is also 26G less fail gold. We'll both get Code of Laws on the same turn (T76).

I can spread religion to Rice Pudding before Sheepish and whip an earlier Missionary, if you'd like?

The reason why I want to delay the chop of silk forest is that I'm still anticipating Math trade.
Now I see what you mean. Sorry, I thought you meant "delay until Oxford," or whatever.

Yes, with some changes I can delay the chop until T75.

For easier comparison, my T75 save.

I'm happy to spread religion to Rice Pudding (before Sheepish) and whip a Missionary. This will lead to less fail gold, but I'd like to get CHs in the northern cities too.

I also attach a T70 Test map, with updated tiles.

I just tried to see what it looks like if start the settler 1 turn late. We can always decide depends on what our Axe finds. As what I suggested myself, I don't mind to get it out 1 turn sooner.

Yes, that's what I'd prefer.

I'm fine with your micro to get NE on T75. It would be nice if you could delay the chop of the silk forest and cottage the grassland tile instead of plain tile.

Good night.

Delaying the chop is fine. I might be able to improve the Grassland tile > Plains, but the latter has 2 turns of improvement already, and is accessible to the Worker 1SE of the Pigs (which I move from the Plains tile ----> Constantinople). Perhaps if we delay the farm 1SE of Rice Pudding? I'll test, but compromises are inevitable at this point.

I'll rewrite the micro tomorrow. Until then, good night.

Excellent work. I tried a few things myself but haven't come close to finding a micro improvement.

@Doshin: are you planning on playing tonight?

@Duckweed: do you prefer taking over after Doshin or should I? At the moment you are most familiar with the micro but I guess I can catch up.

My schedule is quite flexible, I could fit in any time when others have RL issues. So, you could start to prepare for taking over. The micros become more complicated now with many things to be considered. Try to setup goals and then micro around the goals.

Just think about one thing. If we build wealth in more cities, we could have CoL on T75. There are a couple of advantages.

Sheepish could get CH earlier.
Most chops are completed on T75, if AIs offer Math trade before T75, we could trade away CoL instead of Aes. There's some chance of trading CS if we spread CoL around.

Yes, I think it's doable.

Golden Sands builds Wealth from T70 onwards.
Cornish Cow builds Wealth from T72 onwards.
Rice Pudding builds Wealth on T74 (> Heroic Epic).

I hope that the real save will be a little easier on the economy, because we can connect to 4 of Tokugawa's cities.

Since none of these cities have a religion (RP gets Buddhism on T75) build Wealth is fine with me.

I'll start playing in a short while.

There is a small risk to our Worker, if we are roading towards the Stone site:

Spoiler :

The Worker needs to move 1W of his current location. We can't tell whether a barb is on the Ivory.

The only info I can provide is that the Ivory is currently improved, and Tokugawa has been improving tiles in this area:

T70

T71

Spoiler :

I would risk it, but I'll wait for "one more yes" before I do so. A "no" will go to whoever votes third. :)

Go ahead, we can't go 100% safe all the time. Most barbarians in south headed for Asoka's last city before.

I think I said before, I am usually happy to take small risks if they are justified, but try to check first. :)

It was safe anyway:

Spoiler :

Toku is going after Construction, as you can no doubt see. Kublai now has HBR.

Still no sign of the last AI:

Spoiler :

Alex had 6 cities on T71. He now has 5.

Toku just finished Calendar not long time ago. Is he that fast?
No, we can see his research through espionage.

On T71, he needs 10 turns to finish it; on T72, 9 turns.

Edit: I am so glad we took our Asoka:

Spoiler :

Explore with SW and SE with both Axes?

Spoiler :

Yes from me.

IBT:

Spoiler :

Judaism was founded on the last turn (before we met HC) so he must have just finished Theology.

We've met our neighbors. :)

What a friendly bunch...

An IND leader sitting on top of Marble would certainly account for the high prod demographics on T1 and the T11 Oracle... :crazyeye: (we'll see if I was right when we gain visibility on his cap)
Don't know if that would be enough for him to systematically go for it... anyway that ship has sailed :)

LBs...

Good luck y'all, I have a very early start tomorrow so I'll have to read your exploits tomorrow evening.

Unfortunately we're not getting Mathematics from a trade unless another AI acquires it... and then it'll depend on whether they're pursuing HG.

We can't even go for Music because it requires Mathematics. Maybe Metal Casting?
