[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

Universities. Probably won't make the cut :(
That will be a -100bpt loss minimum for those 20t of caste, but we just can't invest 1200h worth of population right before the GS window.
Especially pre-forge.

Back to monastery + temple and finish Sankore T125..

Whales will have the max OF from those 2 bldgs plus library for Parthenon. Plus 2 chops should just about finish it.
Keep 2 forests for +1 health.
Must be size 10+ ~T125

so probably
121 Monast (pre whipped)
122 Library (double OF) (pre-whipped)
123 Parth
124 temple (pre-whipped a while ago, maybe only 2pop whip?)
125 Parth (chop)

Science will have to contribute one GS, so at least the first 8t GAge work scientists instead of cottages, possibly not both gems? we'll see.
It probably will have to do the 600 gpp GS.

I didn't realize we were so close to the long golden age chain.

20 turns from now, really?
Philosophy is not even in the bag yet. :crazyeye:

Where is National Epic going?

Let me rework the test game again.

Silver, size 12 by T125.
No chopping, no forge, no courthouse, no university :(
Temple, Monast, Aqueduct? could live without this.

Where is National Epic going?
Either skip it.
Or Science can do it. It goes with the NatPark anyway. That gene pool will probably be dirty. And then Science can get the 600 gpp easier.

One more brainstorm.

If we are getting all GS's to start, and especially if Canal pops a low-odds GS at 200 gpp.
We could get Biology faster by using the Music Artist for just 1 Golden age. No 2nd GAge.

So, let's try to run 2 sci in Canal sometimes to get the birth a little earlier than T125 so we know if we should do Music.

T125, Canal, size 10
no chopping.
Monast, temple (5 pop used), 2 failgold OF.

Ok, one more (small) thing.
I figured out how we're gonna win. (assuming the AP thing doesn't work out)

We'll get the 2nd round of GS's earlier than I was thinking, and after sushi, instead of saving Radio/MM for late tech, we can do Astro, physics, Elect, Radio, MassMedia Slow build the UN without a GE. We save us a powerful option leaving the Merchant wonder open.
We workshop ClamsCity and it can do the UN in less than 20 turns.
So pucker up. We've got some butt-kissing to do.

I hate how the AP is 10 turns between votes, right? and the UN is 4?

For missionaries, can we gift them to Peter once they are in Russia's culture?
20 turns from now, really?
It's fast, something like...
T114 MC
117 Machinery

(free Feudal)
122 Guilds
125 Banking

or

115 Feudal

(free MC)
118 Mach
123 Guilds
126 Banking

otherwise 129 or 130 Banking (self researched)
It's 20ish turns indeed. I can't believe it. Perhaps 2 more for aesthetics. There's not much time left for org religion and slavery. Need to whip more in the next 10~15 turns.

I changed my mind on Paper demands. I think we have to give Peter just about anything he wants. Paper included.
Unless testing shows that the would 100% pick Edu/Lib. We should be fine. I think he will have higher priorities.
In fact, if he does choose Edu, he would need low-odds GS to bulb Edu to finish it fast enough to race us..
And what if he does get Liberalism first?
That means:
a) we get free Liberalism
b) we can probably make him take Free Astronomy and then we get that free too.

What exactly would we do if we knew he was researching Mono and then Currency?
If I understand it correctly, ep expenditure is for the decision whether we should tech MC next. After Oxford starts matriculation at T111, we need to start research. So we only want to find out if Peter is in one of the following cases: straight MC/ small tech-> MC/ currency MC. Any other possibilities we don't care. How about this: we decide later at ETA of Peter's currency assuming he went straight for it after alphabet. If he completes no new tech by then, we won't use ep slider. This means he is either doing MC( we go for partial MC->Peter completes it we switch to feudal aesthetics)or feudalism( we do MC machinery). Otherwise we resort to ep slider to see what he is working on.

Yes, we could gift a missionary to Peter so we can make a new 4th missionary 1 or 2 turns earlier. :D
Can't really control where it will go though, hmm

I've been working and massaging the test game.
Caste+Pacifism in 20 to 25 turns means that forges... just are not paying off during testing.

The big cities are sucking down all our gold, and when 100% :science: slider drops to 50% the Oxford University is no longer humming.

I've had positive results chopping the missionary on T105 in Whale City.
The surge of hammers really helps working more food.

I'll try to find a good compromise with buildings vs. population.
I don't want to bet the farm on getting perfect tech trades with Peter and Philosophy going perfectly.

Do we need Theology any time soon? We should be able to get it in trade before it's needed.

Plans are shaping up. Good work.

Test game?!? haha

No save here, just Brainstorming. Can we figure out if Peter is teching mono or currency by comparing trade values for philosophy from one turn to the next?

We should not need Theology no.

I found a T115 test game I like. :)
Chopped Confu missionary T105.
2 Missionaries sailed west starting T106 and could get Peter's 2 cities spread on T115 and T116.
3rd Missionary came from Silver City and sailed west starting T110 and spread to either of Peter's eastern 2 cities on T118.

3 Courthouses fast, 2 Universities a bit slower, good amount of Maoi gold, no forges, no temples, plenty of buildings we want.
The courthouses will keep us up to date with Peter and stops us vomiting 15:gold: per turn every turn.

No slider on T107 or T108, but simulated Peter got 100%:espionage: slider on T109 (We could also do this on T107 or T108) and then went 100%:science: slider on T110.
Oxford online at the start of T111.

Maoi gold: (Arrives starting T116)
Canal City - 245
Clam City - 240
Cow City - 229
Silver City - 218
Whale City - 228
---------------------------------------------

Then I took it to T126 to see what the future might be like. (deep dive)
Everything was self-researched.

Iron Working was world-buildered in and 2 gem mines were added to the capital T117 using world builder under the assumption that we get Iron Working through trade between T110 and T114.

Dun trick was used T117 in Whale City and Silver City for Parthenon and Parthenon fail gold.
Re-connecting the deer road after Dun trick and getting a workboat out of Profit City for Whale tile were both necessary.

We have most of the things we need around T127 and T128 such as Sankore, Parthenon, the Great Person, and enough gold to get Banking.
But we can't do golden age switch to Mercantilism until T132 if we have to tech everything except Iron Working ourself.

Dun into Parthenon twice without Marble?
It was stored in wealth until marble was hooked up.

Whale City was able to have 2 chops added, then took 2 turns to build Parthenon (T125+T126) while the last chop landed.

Cow City got a bit of Parthenon on T123, and Silver City a lot on T124.

Technically, we can hook up Marble on T124 instead of T123 and be mostly ok.
