I've confirmed that we've had fur going since T95 by carefully opening the paused T105 save.

I cancelled the fur trade to Peter for 10 seconds in the middle of my turnset and then it went back up for 2:gold: per turn, so no break there.

T109 - Novgorod has 89:hammers: in a build.

Peter's new city has a Chariot garrison and no worker for his ice iron.

Our Chariot has perished after being cruelly abandoned in Anarctica to save a few bucks! :cry:

Keeping Peter in Confu


Tao population : 18
For Peter to switch back to Tao, the population needs to be greater than Confu population *4/3

So, a confu pop of 14 should keep him there.
Moscow + St. Pete + Yek = 15 :thumbsup:

If we can get him to stay there, he should spread confu with missionaries if they can beat the auto-spread.

Now, you're probably thinking, we can't risk spread failure. Here's a no-risk plan:
IFF no Tao has spread, We try Moscow first. If it fails, we do Yaro + Yek at 100%.
If Moscow succeeds we're also safe, we try St. Pete. Fail or not, Peter will switch with 2 cities confu.

Problem. One autospread to Yaro/Novg and he'll probably switch to Tao, so we're probably better off taking the no-religion spots to stop autospread, and then try to lock him out of Tao later.

So, long story short: I'm not suggesting any change :sheep: But I thought you'd want to know the findings from my little exercise. Maybe you have an evil adjustment to suggest?

I was surprised earlier when you said population didn’t matter. I had remembered it mattering.
 
We didn't manage a temple in silver so I think we're stuck at size 11 now that we're whipping a missionary.
Although size 12 or 13 is ideal, 11 should perform OK.
In hindsight, I think I'd take temple over ch here.

Question: are we putting 2pop whipped Miss OF into UoS? or a 5th Missionary? or could it be in temple + chop the new forest?
 
@WT: So we need a backup plan if there is autospread before our missionaries arrive. Spread to St Pete first, Moscow second.

The odds are 91% independent of city size.

If possible, move missionaries so they have options on the turn of spreading.

Cowboy can chop the forest complete on T119 into the Wealth build of Whale City I think.
Saves 1 worker turn later, and Parth can be completed 1 turn earlier if needed.
If you want to keep forest around for a few more chances for forest growth because last chop into Parth T127 is ok, that's fine.

If we send just 3 Workers for Marble, it saves a lot of Worker turns.
And marble hooks up T124 instead of T123 I think. :hmm:

Wheat needs a 2nd Worker to finish fort in time.
It has to get up there by T131 I think?
Fort + Road should take 12 worker turns I think.

If we keep the 4th Worker on the mainland after fixing new deer road, maybe send to Cow City to chop, or farm up Clam City.


T116 - Science City should probably build Sankore without stone anyway.
That wonder is a huge tech boost and even 1 turn faster helps.

T115 Cow City University needs to work something besides 3 coast to get over 50/200 to enable a 4-pop whip

Silver City Missionary overflow?
Save it for Parthenon I think.

I don't think Science City needs an MP, but I'm not certain

2. Spread to largest cities asap. (Not eventually)

If we target all 3 empty cities first, we can start a new Confu Missionary on T115 and get the 4th rolling right away.

If we bribe Peter into Confu in such as way that he stays in Confu instead of switching back T123, that could have benefits too. :hmm:
We get more turns at Friendly, and don't have to pay for him to go back to Confu later.

I didn't give you guys the whole story. It's quite a bit more complicated.
Because of the holy city, once Peter gets a few buildings in Tao, it gets harder and harder to prevent him from switching back to it.

All we have are big tech (except maybe Lit), so it will be painful to bribe him to confu with a large tech just to trade for 1 tech.
Maybe we can give him cash for switching, then get the cash back in the tech trade?

However, like I already said. Blocking autospread is probably the best idea for T116. But maybe T127 is not too late to lock him in Confu.
So, I'm leaning towards 5th missionary. Kait said Parthenon failgold.

5th missionary is ok if it is for long term strategic advantages. :)

Peter will grow quite nicely when he settles those 2 islands.

Investing in Peter for the long term is probably better than 65 fail gold now that you mention it.
