[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

Whale has 10 coastal, 4 ocean tiles w/whales. Horse on plains tile, silver on tundra hill. 7hpt for Moai.

But no stone...we keep searching.

Here is your Session Turn Log from 3480 BC to 3120 BC:

Turn 13, 3480 BC: Canal has been founded.

Turn 20, 3200 BC: Science or will grow to size 2 on the next turn.

Turn 21, 3160 BC: Science or has grown to size 2.
Turn 21, 3160 BC: Cows will grow to size 2 on the next turn.
Turn 21, 3160 BC: You have discovered Mysticism!
Turn 21, 3160 BC: You have trained a Work Boat in Cows. Work has now begun on a Barracks.

Turn 22, 3120 BC: Cows has grown to size 2.

I can't play any more turns today nor can I do more testing. Both LC and Kait have tested through Sailing. Is there any question about Sailing next? If not, then we need to agree on the preferred MM and then go for it.

EDIT: I can play through Sailing this week once we agree on the MM.

Our graphs show PR we settled a city. comped a tech and gained 3 power. They don’t know if we built a warrior or teched Mining.

did u want to play that long? or rotate around smaller turnsets? It is early tho and a turn now is not like a turn later.

I don't mind playing. I've already played several tests out through Sailing so I have a general feel for what to do already. There won't be much to do each turn other than worker/citizen MM and move the wb around the map.

Hmm... both saves look to be the exact same (the T31 Sailing flavor). I don't really like this variant. It seems like we sacrificed Science by a) not farming the rice and b) working the wine a lot in order to pull Sailing in one turn.

I'd feel better about a more balanced approach that allows our cities to develop a bit more naturally (i.e. work the rice farm instead of the wine farm to grow rather than prioritize commerce). I'm assuming this is what your Turn 32 Sailing test did.

BTW, Canal city looks really weird! ;) I do have an updated test game if you want to use that.

I managed to upload the same file twice? :crazyeye: Ed: Are you sure? I’m getting they’re different. The t32 has Cows growing to pop3 next turn. Plenty in time for the crabs.

My t32 game works the Cow farm more but still skips the rice farm. In my opinion, Science only has three useful tiles so I’d only work the rice farm at or near p4.

Nice work Mitchum. :D
Might have found us another city site.
Whale gets 3:food: with Lighthouse even if not improved with a workboat.

Real Game Pictures for T22.
Spoiler :

Our capital is at (x,y) = 65,20 on a map that is 84,36.
I agree that our workboat should explore south and then west.
Impassable ocean is most often found when the x coordinate wraps from 84 to 0, so east of Sitting Bull probably does not have AI unless the map maker changed something.

I feel comfortable with Sailing next.
We get it done in 10 turns and we get trade routes with capital right away, can trade extra resources with SB, can make galley, can build lighthouse when nothing else needs building, etc.

Is anyone (else) debating settling whale in 3rd ring instead of BFC?
We get plainshillFur and 3 forests. Lose a lot of water and obviously whale (we still get the whale eventually)

But those forests aren't workable, so they only provide just 6:hammers: more. The non-tundra fur looks nice, but probably we're better off with tons of 2f tiles.

I would need to see what is on that island tile west of whale.
We could settle so whale is not in BFC, but if that hidden tile is marble or stone and we can't fort + road it at 100:culture:, we are going to be kicking ourselves.

If it’s not the same landmass the culture won’t spread three tiles over water.

Is tile 84 east of tile 65?
