Sitting Bull Analysis

tl;dr — Sitting Bull may have very few more land tiles!

T0 7 land tiles
T4 11 land tiles
T32 1? land tiles :eek::eek::eek:
His turf looks like this:

Code:
nn333
n3222u
oo111qu
oooc1qu
ooo11qu
uuqqquu

c=center
o=water
n=neutral land
1=first ring of land tiles
2=second ring land
q=second ring unknown
u=third ring unknown
The point is, only 1 of those 6 q’s is land!

If I had the demo screens for t14-21 (hint hint), I might be able to figure out how many of the u’s are land. Plus I could mostly figure out the land configs for the other AIs.

SB should finish his settler shortly. I wouldn’t be surpised to see him settle toward Canal.
T38 SB Analysis

T0 7 land tiles
T4 11 land tiles
T32 16 land tiles :eek::eek::eek:
T38 17 land tiles

We now know SH has 1 land tile in each of his 2nd and 3rd rings that we can’t see.

Mitch’s theory of the missing SB scout is intriguing, to say the least.

We might want send a wb south of SH when OBs. I’m still clutching to the chance of Glory Land SW of SB.

So does this post from Sunday look familiar Mitch :mischief:

Yes, I looked back and saw that after my first post about tech path this morning but nothing was never discussed beyond your post that I remember. Should we try to figure out where we want to squeeze in IW? What about Writing earlier so that we can get started on libraries and a GS? Should we plan to bulb Math when CoL finishes or self-research it (which puts the Oracle at risk)? Should we consider a safer MC slingshot? Etc.

I wonder how hard NZ made the early wonders to get. If the AI have access to marble and/or stone, some of the early wonders could be nearly impossible to get.

Does it make sense to roll a handful of random Ice Age starts and hit enter a bunch of times to see about when different wonders go? If so, I can run a few tests.

There is no telling what the map maker did.
We can only try our best.

Oxford is a very valuable prize with one city challenge settings.

I don't think we can shoot for less than Civil Service on emperor ice age.

The least risky thing we can do is bulb math and chop Oracle complete on the same turn.

If it blows up in our faces, Prophet can still get Maoi eventually with 2 forests.

If we meet AI, we could tech Math and bulb Alpha for a faster Iron Working.
Trade and sprint for Code of Laws.

I don't wanna bulb Math. We just have to test to see if we can manage CS or not.

I feel like the T89 or T90 plan for the Oracle's hammers in Profit City is set in stone ...so to speak. By that I mean it can be done in time, probably improved on, and not necessarily exactly how I outlined it.

So it's all about getting the tech. I feel that if we load up GW and Henge every chance we get after Stone (T66)
We should be able to make it. If those wonders both go before T70, we'd have to pick another Oracle tech target.

Writing: I don't think we'll be ready to whip libraries. We need to continue to work our best tiles after whipping.

IW: If we're going to squeeze in IW, which I want to, we should do it as early as we can (After Masonry). Iron tiles will change a lot of our plans. Gems tiles should help make IW almost free (pay for about 2/3 of itself anyway)
Let's aim for T70 gems cleared, (that's T63 IW, rt?)

It'll be hard, but we can make it! Focus on working the new furs and silver as much as possible.
We probably need a few days to test options. Are we getting Warriors out fast enough? Granaries will really wake up our empire.

Questions

1. More SH fail gold? In cows?
2. I forget, can forest spread to ice?
3. Should we wait to whip Sci granary till OF into GW?

Notes
1. Canal is crap. Don’t like whipping tge wb instead of granary a bit later. Thoughts?
2. Maybe forget any pre-scouting of NE Isle. T53 drop settler off on eastern side, T54 pick up worker, T55 drop off worker on western side or wherever?
3. Cow seems best to just grow to pop6, no whipping. T56 works all 3 furs. Thoughts?
4. Stone, will chop south, road north, for chance at double forest growth.
5. Silver, road fur after camp? Gets +happy sooner.
6. Since Cow does it need a greenery, should we just build work boats there for a while? Or do we want the granary for future whipping? Stone will need his work boat and whales will need one too. Plus silver will need two more.

It's a complicated turnset for sure.
I"ll need to do a test game to get good answers.
cowboy: think about when he should go to Whales (and when to settle that) I think after Pottery is guaranteed.
Cottage for Science?
Make another worker before granary so we're not growing now?
no whip cows is probably correct for now. build a lighthouse? and by that I mean...prep a lighthouse for whipping after stone.
It's amazing how the simplest turnset is followed by complex.
Philip needs a ride back T67 to clear gems. Can our galley get back?
Hard to hold off granary until T66. Probably do it in Science and grow big to whip library.

I really need to test first.

I was thinking Whales-1E needed to wait for a wb. Does it? or should be bit the bullet sooner? How much does it cripple us right now?

This is a complicated turnset.

It would be nice to have a workboat at Whales if we plan to settle it soon. I hate to use our NW explorer for it though. :( I'd be fine with Cows cranking out a bunch of wbs right now without the whip growing onto the furs until we can get a handle on the wbs we need. Ideally, our new cities don't have to build their own wbs. If we do this (i.e. no whipping in Cows), maybe we can delay its granary.

The worker should be done at Silver right about the time we need him in Whales for the silver mine unless we're planning for him to stick around in Silver for a bit longer.

We're agreed on settling whales 1E of where the settler is now, right?

EDIT: xpost with WT

Masonry can also be available T56, but we have 4 turns to kill till we need it.
So I'm thinking it's a good time to do Whales
Our wb gets there for T54 settle T55 nets.

Joan: let's do something useful with her instead of moving straight to the mystery island. There's a good chance we can't afford to settle there ASAP. We have tech needs.
I'd like her to be able to chop gems around T65. Maybe cottage or farm first? We can make it so Pottery comes in early.

wb4 : nets at whales T55 (settled 54)
Grow to size 2 T60 (work silver mine)
sometime after stone, 29/30 monument whip -> Henge

The galley can return and pick up Philip so that he can start chopping the jungle on turn 68 if he picks him up from the stone. If he picks him up closer to the marble he can get him there earlier.

Why do you say we don’t need masonry till turn 60? Seems like the sooner we connect stone, the more fail gold.
