PR t26 graph Guesses

T22 rax, p6 gives +4 power, Myst?!! (How so fast?), 3rd city might have comped wb t20, grew to p2 t22, but then even slower teching

T26 score +56?!?!?! How? 12 tiles capital = 30. I can’t see another pop growth, and 3rd city couldn’t be 10 tiles = 26, so settled 4th city? = 9 for pop and 7 tiles for 3rd city, but then not canal?

If not canal, then closer city explains faster Myst.

Hmmmm....other ideas?

Ed: No pop growth between t6 - t21 is why I think 3rd city worked 1h, but then how did they get AH t14? That was tge first indicator they did’t settle canal.
Revising this.

I do see a pop growth on t26, so no 4th city most likely. Capital finished rice patty on t24. Still leaves 6 tiles to account for, if I’m not mistaken. Either 2clam or Canal-W ?! Probably 2clam judging from Tech rate. They got Sailing t32. Looks like they’re planning to settle offshore asap. And that’s with the plains farm in Cows rather than fur first, by my calcs.

With Cows already p3, they could finish the galley by t38.

Fun!

I'm amazed at how you can divine that info from the graphs.

In the BW 1st scenario, Canal can whip the wb almost as early. If you don't work coast, won't that delay BW at least 1 turn?

No -- on 10t monument

I kept the two tests pretty much the same but on Canal I ran only coastal for the BW.

Deciphering the graphs is simpler than you think. Especially with them saving practically every turn. Plus, when you have to go to DD each time, you learn to think without saves... ;)

My Impression: BW first slavery benefits are minimal. Extra early wb for exploration possible benefit.

Sailing first gets 1-3 cities settled far sooner. Retains option to beeline Alpha. Gets granaries or libraries much sooner so Sci doesn’t waste hammers.

Settling Silver t37 is a great idea!!!

Thanks for testing both ways for us LowtherCastle :)
I will make the PPP tonight.

So, we're good to go for 4 turns, then rt?

Ya, just need to write everything down first and recreate what you all have been testing.

If we run the fur straight through, monu-wb-wb-galley, both wbs are 2h (total) shy of coming out a turn earlier. The first would go to silver, the second nets cows a turn or two late. If we want those two wbs, I recommend working 1f2h twice instead of he furs.

If instead we want the galley sooner, then only 1turn with 1f2h gives 5h OF into the galley t32.

Be interesting to test rice farm next, workboat then galley, build a worker in Science at pop4 for the Galley and see if we can get our fourth city down really early. That would delay the workboat for silver, I wonder how many turns.

1. Great PPP! :goodjob:
2. Canal — Conditional: maybe only 1f1h after T32, in case we skip BW
3. Scouting workboat: scout all island corners that might lead to land
4. Scouting wb — Conditional: if South is ocean-locked, wb may be able to net Cows crabs sooner, alter MM
5. Liberate lights up for unmet AI?! Please do NOT liberate by accident!!!
6. Phillip?
7. I you feel like grabbing the Demo screen each turn, we can do fun stuff.

Overall, I’m delighted with the PPP. I just wonder if granaries or library after mining might not be better for Science. But we can revisit that later. Meanwhile I’ll try to do some tests. That doesn’t affect your pre-BW PPP at all I don’t think.

On Shepherd T29 farm wine-1e, WT wants us to maximize forest growth, so we’re not planning to farm this tile. Even having the worker there for 1 turn prevents possible forest spread that turn.

Also: I personally would put Shepherd on the galley T40. Let Phillip finish the camp, which would mean CANCELing Shepherd’s action T39.

We’re wasting a bunch of worker turns farming wine before rice. So be it, I guess...

On my T 38 test save we can liberate canal and cows to Zara. What’s going on with that? Even tested it, we get the plusmod from liberating Cows!

Also Silver is closer to Thebes than to our capital. How do we find out that it can be liberated without knowing Egypt?

So, settler 7 can jump on the galley somewhere aruond T50 and go to the NE island.
Settler 5 probably has to head to Whales sometime later in your PPP? When would we want to settle that? After Pottery? or after Writing? T50+
OR we settle Whales-1E (includes Fur, silver=1st ring, lower maint?) Cowboy improves one silver, then the other. This might depend on if we settle the island for +2 TRs everywhere.
It's a 10 turn head-start for whales. Remember, we won't have whale until after Biology, so it's just a 3f1c tile (with lh)

Whales has 43f late game, 1e has 37f. Significant difference?

Interesting dilemma, Whales or SB-S, because the settler can’t move from one to the other. Even early OBs gives us that info pretty late. Seems like the earliest way to know anything is a wb.
