No, I open the save in windowed mode and then just hit the X, close box. That way it doesn't autosave either.
Of course, when I play for real, I would never do windowed mode for fear of accidentally closing.

This unit rarely crosses my mind either (until GotM 197)
This might be our replacement for Trebs/cannons.
They move around way faster and almost every city on the map is coastal.
We don't need any new tech once we have Astronomy.
Frigates: I'm on-board :cool: Maybe 4 is enough? -8%, but gunpowder based, so ignores walls. So those 4 can take down 60% defenses in 2 turns.
Yes, Frigates can bombard all coastal cities down to 0% defenses and are extremely mobile. :)
On this map it seems like a good idea.

Airships are also really nice.
Like a super weak bomber (no collateral damage), they can bombard the top defender down -20% hp I think.
So a Longbow defender would be 4.8/6:strength:

The new world doesn't provide many sushi, health or happiness resources. Research speed will be the bottleneck. Skipping massmedia and UN will shorten the depth of tech tree.
For the iron trade, we can buy iron with gpt+ deer -> upgrade treb/ trireme-> pillage deer road. Eiffel can do something similar. OF-buy iron build Eiffel-next turn pillage.

I agree that research speed is the bottleneck.

We will need the Great Scientist and Cow City Caravel to make contact with France.

The new world does not seem to have much Fur? We should probably connect some near Cow City if we have time before preserving forests around our capital.

I would like a steady supply of Iron, but the Deer trick for Iron works too if we can't get a good deal for Horse. :D

Ok, I'm up next after LowtherCastle.

I see Sitting Bull has 3 defenders in Poverty Point and 4 defenders in his capital now.
Aim for Poverty Point?
 
Saladin might have gold for us (+2 :) with forge)
He trades happy resources at Annoyed thankfully.

We can preserve a forest for +1 :) if a city has any forest left in BFC.
That should help tamp down on anger issues.
If only we could draft our capital, but those cottages are calling out to be worked.

Perhaps run Merchants in Clam City now that the Great Scientist was born?

Profit City will grow into anger on T145.
Should we build a Barracks to fix the angry citizen for 3 turns?

Sitting Bull's capital has 4 defenders, so I don't think we can target it with our raiding army anymore. :hmm:
Both cities just completed a unit. Cahokia’s producing 9hpt, so it could easily make another.

I keep looking for another Settler to pull defenders away, but none seem to be in production currently. :sad:
 
If we

T146 revolt SB to Nat, DoW, unload at PP-1s,

maybe a couple of Cah units will race north so we can pick them off in the open with units not used on PP.
 
I want to draft there if we have the happies. We may only get 1 chance to draft. Saves 80:hammers: .
Sushi food is coming so cottages can get worked soon enough.
Kait wanted me to keep one Science farm instead of completing the cottage. Should I keep two or three?
