@leif - It won't be a problem. I played a SG with Alan and it is seamless.

I like that idea - Space/Culture/Diplo would be a great timing challenge. Plus something, no one else is planning on doing.

ankaa : the teams are UP on page 5 of this thread. You have a 4 man roster for OCC.

The ratings are based on HOF numbers. Those people without a rating were given a generic one depending on the level of game they play and win regularly. Those people that didn't respond to my PM were just given and average rating. The ratings are therefore innacurate, but it's the best I could do. Higher is better BTW.

I rated you from the level of game you play in the SG forum.
The 3CC AW game and reading through it gave me a fair idea as to your standard in comparison with the players I play with regularly.
I only pester people with PM's if it is absolutely necessary.
We seem to be of similar mind.Originally posted by leif erikson
Greetings fellow Civmates.
I have never tried any of the variants but, in a Regent game, AW sounds like a worthy goal. I always thought that multiple victory conditions would be fun to try, but I'm not that good!!MB's interpretation of RBCiv doesn't sound like it would be too hard to do either.
With my limited experience of Civ3, SGs and variants, I'm not necessarily the best person to led this merry band, but I'm happy to fill an administrative role. And as my name's at the top of the team roster, I figured I'd better get the ball rolling. I wanted to get a feel for the goal first, as that takes some time. Then we can look at the detail of who goes first and so on. I like the idea of AW, but I'd be happier if at least one member of the team has done it before, as I'm sure there are lots of specific things to look out for and worry about.Whatever play order you want to do Alan is fine with me.
There's a debate in progress about this now. On the one hand we don't want to hide it away, but on the other we want it to seem like a single event. That's all a spectator thing really. As players we shouldn't really care, as we are not going to be able to go looking at the other threads anyway, and so we only have to keep track of our own thread when it's posted. FYI I do that in SGs by making two browser bookmarks/shortcuts for the thread - one to its first post and one to its last. The first one is easy, the second one is just an edited version of the first, with "&goto=lastpost" appended to it.do you think it would be possible to convince Ainwood that we should have a separate thread space in the GOTM forum for SGOTM much like the Quick Games section that is there now?
Trust me! My zipped save files are as good as anyone's. Worry about the relative quality of my play, not the technical differencesI know AlanH has a Mac and I have a "PeeCee", is there anything we have to do to make sure our saves can be transfered?

Ok, that settle's it.
But isn't a plain OCC a bit easy, if this is on Regent?
Maybe we could get some twist to it?AW? Spaceship?

What version will we play? I am a n00bie to SG and I expect to learn from this SG. When will we start discussing the pre-game situation?![]()
