SGOTM21 Lurker's Thread

Looks like Xteam have several pults now. So should be ready for war soon. If they can play out the save in 4 months they look likely for 3rd. They have a lot of turns to play. 90-100+ turns in 35 days. 3 turns a day. Dhoom has got his work cut out here. A turn 200 finish would require a lot of micro and Dhooms guidance.

Xteam seem to be struggling for active players. At present it seems that just two of their players (Dhoom & Folket) are playing turns due to other team member's RL issues. Folket is also now experiencing RL problems with Dhoom generating fairly lengthy draft turn plans.

Unless a number of their players return to active duty I think they will really struggle to finish in time. :(

Yes Dhoom is pretty much playing their game at present. Dhoom is a great player. They do pretty much seem down to 2 players now.

@UE - Xteam were hoping Folket would play over easter holidays. I think another player has offered to play instead. They do need to get the whip out as the next 100 turns will take a lot more time than the first 100.

I think I'll make a 1 AD comparison when I get home. XTeam seems to be really slow. :(

EDIT: Got home late, so I'll rather do it tomorrow. XTeam is almost there anyways...

Crikey. Been reading a bit in some team threads lately, and XTeam almost looks like a one-person team now.

The detail Doshin and others go into is impressive. No wonder they routinely do so well. Lots of pictures too in the PD thread, so worth to check it out.

Edit: This might make anyone's head spin...

@Kaitzilla

Green light from me.

Feel free to ask for feedback while playing, especially about war micro. For me: I find that a second or third voice from the team usually helps me overcome my innate low unit courage, which leads to better results (will Shaka backstab our stack after we capture Amsterdam... :mischief:).

GL/HF. :goodjob:

FE has just met the world and exchanged maps. They provided very nice screenshots in two posts here:
FE World Overview

Seems Louis was quite lazy for them, but Mao built a nice nation. They left Shaka and Willy quite intact, still.

Yes, for me :D I will probably delay the 1 AD summaries, got enough troubles with RL as it is currently.

Predictions:

- At least 4 teams will win Liz's heart with a 50 XP ship

- At least 4 teams will win Cathy's heart with the parade

- Every option for Bella will be used by at least one team but no more than three.

Strange decision considering you can buy her clues anyway.

If I'm not confused they want to set up a transportation chain and wanted to save time by not moving everything in the wrong direction

Looks more reasonable that many teams will finish on time. T170/T176 is not too far off for TSR and PD. Xteam seem to be going for AP now so much less war required.

My only worry would be FE. If they go Ap too and pick up pace maybe they will be fine.

At present TSR/PD and Xteam seem to be laurels. See what happens as Xteam have still got quite a bit to do given Dhooms extensive plans. Some of the ladies tasks should provide some interesting challenges. esp the resources one as ivory become obsolete. castles too for the city. Then the issue of the troop build up for Russians.

Lots to think about.

Some teams plan on gaining several GGs extra in the last turns. Not sure if that will work.

wel they can give the unit leadership to help it gain promotions quickly. They can also gift lots of galleys and triremes to help provide easy targets. Lots of options. They would need a lot of combat wins to get the final few GG. It's also a lottery as to where these GG might pop up? On some random island?

We planned a privateer to grab Ai sea units. More than possible really. The issue is having units to attack. I could easily see a team gifting a unit. Then attacking it same turn? Rinse and repeat. 20xp from combat? 20 from first GG. 10 from 2nd GG. So really you only need to win 10 combats with leadership?

Afaik, the GG comes from the city in which the victorious unit was built.

That is correct.

Something else I know, but never use in my play. You can see your GG points and know when you will be getting one. Then attack with unit(s) from the city where you want it.
Years ago I read a thread about how much combat experience you get per attack. One on defense. On attack, it depends upon how difficult the attack is.

You can also get more XP when defending, 1XP is afaik only the xp when withdrawing, or is that wrong? O_o at least I strongly believe that I have seen AI got more than 1XP when defending.
