Fire at Parliament
The Freak Accident in Madrid
July,19th 2008

This evening at the Spanish Parliament in Madrid a horrible accident has occurred. A freak electrical fire has erupted. Setting the front entrance ablaze and quickly spreading throughout the building. Cutting off escapes for many of the people inside. Which includes nearly all of the leaders of government. Except for the Prime Minister and the royal family, and a few other lesser known politicians. As it was the King and Prime Minister were on the way to the building and would have arrived no less than twenty minutes later. But by the time they did arrive the fire had consumed the entrances and trapped inside over three hundred people. Including media. Fire fighting and police forces arrived shortly after the blaze began but were incapable of stopping the fire.

“It burned like a fuel fire.” said an anonymous firemen whom had arrived when the first trucks did. “It seems odd that something like this would happen, as the electric systems in the building had been re worked not to long ago. It is defiantly the last thing we expected to catch on fire.”

The fire raged on for several hours before it began to slow down. Attempts were made to enter the building but all failed. Searches for survivors are under way but it doesn’t look to good. The King has announced he will make a speech discussing the loss and the sorrow it brings him and the Prime Minister later in the week.

We have been deeply affected by this freak accident. And it hurts our country to lose so many men and women, especially ones so high up in the government. A large funeral service will be held for all families who wish it. Speeches by myself and other members of the government will be held. The pain of loss has shaken the core of Spain but we stand united. I will see to it personally that this fire is investigated, and the truth brought out. I hate to mention it but I believe in myself it may be an act of terrorism. But lets pray that, that is not the case. Thank you.

The Next President of South Africa

When Jacob Zuma was selected as Deputy President of South Africa by Thabo Mbeki in 1999, few doubted he would be his successor. In fact some even believed Zuma outshined Mbeki himself. Since 2005 all that has changed. After Zuma was fired by Mbeki because of accusations of corruption, and then rape, politics in the African National Congress Party began to heat up.

Despite the charges, many citizens and members of the ANC Party still sided with Zuma and even continued to endorse him as the next president. However many other members of the ANC Party shifted their support to Mbeki's replacement as Deputy President, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka. If Mlambo-Nguka is elected she will be the Republic's first female President. Despite her support from many members of the ANC Party, she still has many major obsticles. One being that of Mosima Gabriel "Tokyo" Sexwale.

Sexwale who gets his nickname "Tokyo" from his passion for martial arts, has been a prominent member of the ANC for many years and was imprisoned on Robben Island along with Nelson Mandela for anti-apartheid activities. He also served as premier of the Gauteng province. In 1998, Sexwale annouced his retirement from politics and entered the business world, immediatly taking chairs in many of the country's prominent businesses. In December 2008 Sexwale annouced he would come out of retirement and seek to be the ANC Party's choice as President. Since then he has recieved endorsements from Nelson Mandela and Archbischop Desmond Tutu. Many ANC Party Members are also drawn to the charismatic Sexwale as a middle ground between Jacob Zuma and Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.

South Africa to Host FIFA World Cup in 2010

South Africa is scheduled to host the 19th Football World Cup 2010. Africa was decided over Oceania as the next region to host the World Cup in 2010, and South Africa was selected out of three other bids from Egypt, Libya (to co-host with Tunisia) and Morocco. Five new stadiums are being built around the country at rapid pace, and exstencing venues are to be upgraded. Despite all this, there is some doubt if the nation will be ready in time, and if the contest should not be moved to Australia which already has many of the establishments needed from their hosting of the 2000 Summer Olympics. President Mbeki has repeatadly stated that everything will be finished in time and encourages everyone to attend.

We have been attacked by terriosts who wish that we leave the war against Terriosm. I have decided that we must remain true to our goal and will keep our forces overseas in the war effort. Nevertheless we will work hard and prevent another attack. I admit that it is a severe blow to our pride and confidence, but we should always be alert and prepared becuase every nation that participates in the war on terroriosm will get attacked. That is why we must work hard and put an end to terriosm.

Stay out of this, and cease your meddling.

We direct you to the Rudd Doctrine, which states that Australia will intervene in any and all conflicts in the Oceanic or South Pacific regions which it feels may threaten the stability of said regions. As such, Australia will be taking quite an interest in this, regardless of what you may demand we do, and you can count on other nations showing curiosity with regards to your future actions. You should, by all accounts, back off, as your purges and infringements of civil liberties are violations of the most basic rights to freedom and self-determination.

To West Papua
From Australia

Australia wholeheartedly supports your independence, and would like to offer our assistance and protection as you find your feet as a new nation. We would encourage talks with Papua New Guinea regarding cooperation, or even the possibility of confederation, as New Guinea will be a powerful force, even if unified only very loosely.

To Papua New Guinea

Keep on your guard with regards to Indonesia's moves in the next year. We repeat our encouragement of cooperation, and hope that all of Papua can cooperate, and can be independent.

We would like to know if any of your nations will be interfering to support West Papuan independence, or if you will allow the Indonesian government to continue to opress the Papuan people.

TO: Foreign Affairs Division, ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN
FROM: Ryan Crocker, U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
DATE: January 1, 2009
SUBJECT: Michael Howard

The government of Pakistan, as of this writing, has been granted 24 hours to return American citizen Michael Howard to the custody of the United States of America, and to revoke its ceasefire with tribal warlords and al-Qaeda fighters in the region of Waziristan.

Sincerely,
Ryan Crocker
U.S. Ambassador

OOC: Sigh....I warned you people what would happen if you pushed Pakistan didn't I? I'm not responsible for the following series of events that will come after this message. Have a nice day.

OOC: Thanks for doing exactly what I wanted.

ooc: Can we keep these off the thread, I dont want this to degenerate into a mine is bigger than yours contest.

To USA
From Pakistan

He will not be released until a formal explanation has been given from the US government as to why they have spies operating in our territory. The man has been found to be a spy and the penalty for espianage is execution. We will release him provided we recieve a formal apology and explanation from the US government.

Also the US has no right to interfere with the internal affairs of Pakistan. The US will not dictate to Pakistan with whom it may or may not make a cease fire with. Pakistan is a sovergin country and we will makea cease fire with whomever it pleases. We reject the US ultimatium, and demand that you cease your agressive stance against us/

Pakistan is most displeased with the diplomatic hostility shown by the US toward Pakistan. Pakistan has long been a loyal friend and ally of the US since the days of the Cold War and now we are mystified at the sudden seemingly random shift in US foregin policy. Is or is not the US intreasted in continuing its relationship with Pakistan?

To India
From Pakistan

We are disturbed by your military buildup which seems to be directed at us. Recently India and Pakistan's relations had been improving but this build up may damage our relations and cause a stagnation to the peace process in Kashmir. Pakistan hopes as we always have for good relations with India, but we are most concerned with your military activites.
