SheepNES: Modern Battlefields: MAIN THREAD

Completely OOC:

DOES THIS MEAN THE CANUCKS HAVE TO MOVE? YES!!! If UGT died this turn I would be happy that the GM place is dead. Thanks very much to the terrorists who *sniff* killed the canucks hopes and dreams.

As for the defeating the Canadian Hockey Teams hopes and dreams: YOU SHALL DIE!

Official Statements from Luxembourg

On Abkhabain and South Ossetia: Luxembourg does not wish to deny the will of the people. If they wish to join Russia, we will not stop them. We would, however, like to see this outcome confirmed in a referendum.

On the Attack at the Winter Olympics: Luxembourg condemns this cowardly act, and conveys its goodwill towards the nations harmed by terrorism.

On the Amendments to the French Secularity Act: Luxembourg is committed to the idea of separation of church and state, and thus in principle disapproves of this act.

On the Bombing of LiftPort Headquarters: Luxembourg is shocked that any organization would be opposed to the march of scientific progress. Nevertheless, our program will live on. In this day of decentralization, our data is spread throughout the world, and this is not a major setback.

On the UIC's Development of ICBM Technology: Luxembourg strongly condemns the UIC's seeming urge to drag the world towards apocalypse.

On the Invasion of Tunisia: Luxembourg denounces this seemingly random act. No cause was given, and thus we have no choice to view this war as an act of agression.

On the Columbian Referendum: Luxembourg is pleased that a fair referendum is held, and plans to abide by its results.

On the Production of Carbon Nanotubes: Today, Luxembourg is pleased to announce an international triumph of science for the sake of peace, so rare in our troubled times. We plan to enthusiastically continue our research towards a space elevator.

On the Mogadishu Accords: Luxembourg is pleased that peace has come to this part of the world. We recognize Puntland and Somaliland.

On the Occupation of the Maldives: Though certainly India has the right to neutralize opposition to the rule of law, Luxembourg questions its methods. Instead of invasion, could not the Indian government first have tried working with the government of the Maldives first?

On the Georgian Annexation: Luxembourg strongly calls for a referendum to validate this drastic action.

On Cyprus: Luxembourg is pleased that peace has, at long last, finally come to Cyprus.

On the Mediterranean Sea Incident: Luxembourg is amazed by the hurried conclusions on all sides, and the quick descent into violence. Frankly, Luxembourg doubts that the EU wishes to act together and for peace. We will have to reconsider our role in the organization.

On the Stott Report: Luxembourg is worried by this sobering report. For years, it has taken measures to clean up its steel industry and switch to clean energy. Luxembourg calls on all other states to reduce their carbon emissions.

On West Timor: Luxembourg supports the self-determination of West Timor. But why, it wonders, must its allies go on the offensive to defend it? There is nothing wrong with sending troops to defend Timor, but why were other landings made on other islands, including Java? These actions seem very much like acts of aggression against Indonesia...

On Iraq: Luxembourg is shocked by this callous use of nuclear terrorism. We do not have the words to express our grief, nor our fear. The world has entered a new era, and we fear that it will be its last.

Settle down j eps. Boy, you Canadians are touchy when it comes to hockey ;)

Are you still the UK?

Italy has been trying to act but so far my efforts are going unheeded or being ignored. Italy feels that they are the only nation trying to prevent conflict in the Mediterranean and Africa.

From India
To Luxembourg/Benelux

First if all, we would like to condemn in the strongest of terms the terrorist attacks on the LiftPort HQ, we hope you will be able track down and punish the perpetrators of this foul act.
About the Maldives, as we have said before, the Republic of India was attacked the Maldives, the Attacks and Piracy by the Maldives could not longer be tolerated, our actions were merely defensive and in the interest of both our nation and the international community's security.

The Republic of India was attacked by rogue elements within the Maldives, not the government of the Maldives. Why, then, was it impossible to work with the government, rather than against it?

Diplomacy

To Libya:

Truth be told the Russian government is most surprised regarding the statement from Libya. The Russian Federation has not annexed any lands by military force, and instead has allowed independant and sovereign countries to form a union with the Russian Federation, much in the same way Libya is proposing Egypt and Algeria should do with Libya. Secondly, none of the recently incorporated territories of the Russian Federation are Muslim. Belarus certainly is not, Abkhazia and South Osetia are both Chrisitian regions, and so is Georgia. However, since Libya finds it necessary to threaten war over a non-existent incident, the Russian Federation will take apropriate steps to prevent those threats from materializing.

To Turkey:

The Russian Federation understands Turkey's concern, but we would like to point out that Georgia remains a republic, with its own elected legislature and president. It has simply agreed to a union with Russia so that while foreign policy is formned by Moscow all local decisions are made by Georgia on a local level. Should an anti-union government be elected in Georgia the Russian Federation would take appropriate steps to dissolve the union. Having said that, we look forward to continued cooperation with Turkey, as we are sure the local Georgian government does as well.

To India:

The Russian Federation is open to any and all proposals from the Indian government. Our two countries have had close ties in the past, and it would be very much to our delight if we can cooperate in any area, including military development and production. The Russian Federation is currently working on development of military technologies with the help from China and Germany, and we would be glad to invite India into the partnership so that we can all benefit.

The Maldives are responsible for what their forces do, not only they have failed to keep their forces under control, but they have failed to act against these rogue elements, we have patiently waited for years for them to act, they failed, so we solved the problem. India should be praised for the restrained it showed in giving the Maldives so much time to solve their problems.

To Russia

We are sorry if our statement was misconstrude. I certainly believe that the use of force against Georgia was required. However what I am worried about was the invasion of Chechnya, a Republic that is majority Sunni Muslim and ethnically non-Russia. We are also worried about how Georgian Republic was suddenly annexed into Russia, as well as a number of other lands in that area. We hope that this doesn't, for lack of a better word or phrase, make you more likely to go through your former republics and annex them, either militarily or politically. We are not threatening attacking Russia, we are only saying that we will defend the Caucian states.

cause it is the greatest sport ever!!

Nope cricket is actually but I would not expect the uncultured here to realise that. Baseball is nothing but a hybrid version of cricket and Ice Hockey is nothing but an excuse to beat each other up while ice skating.

We are discussing your recent proposal now.

From the Other countries

We will not consider your proposal, we are happy as things are.

From: People's Republic of China
To: India and Pakistan

We urge restraint on both sides. The last thing we need is a nuclear war in Asia. We are more then glad to supply arms to both your countries, but before we do we would like to set up some short of peace talks in China to give both sides a chance to talk to one anther and hopefully avoid a nuclear war.

To: World

China is shocked at the growing collpase of sovergnity of nations and world order. It seems that nations all over the world think it is with in their rights to invade other countries and force them into a union. We urge restaint on the part of nations all over the world. We could see the collpase of all world order if this countinues.

From: USK
To: PRC

Do you believe all of the unions were due to force? Peacful consolidation is what is necessary, in this fast approaching age of hardship. If nations with similar heritage combine, and we maintain the balance of power, peace and security will prosper.

Turkey is so relieved to see that at least some countries believe in peace and respect rights of other nations. We propose a pact of peace and friendship to China.

People of Australia and New Zealand,
In WW1, your nations were young and naive, and were tricked into joining an attempt to invade our land by colonial powers. Yet we respect and commemorate the bravery of your honorable soldiers in every anniversary of Gallipoli campaign.
Your nations are no longer young and naive. So we ask you as a friendly request; please stop this (yet another) senseless overseas adventure, and avoid humiliating yourselves any further in the international arena.

Brazil reinforces its world that there is no plan for union with Haiti. (Not that aybody cares, after all.)

Australia has committed herself. We will withdraw when Indonesia recognises that the nations of Papua New Guinea and West Papua have sovereignty over the whole of New Guinea/Irian Jaya, and the union of both halves of Timor, pending referenda. Until that time, we fight on, in whatever way, shape or form necessary. The idea of the offensive actions were to force the Indonesians to recognise these things early, before a protracted war.
